The servers were clearly over stretched and stressed. The food was good. Very noisy.

Amazing vegan options, Yam Enchiladas are just heaven! Mushroom pozole is also really good! Would be great more vegan options 🌱
I loved my mezcal margarita!
Having churrus as desert perfectly completed my dinner!

Service was excellent! The grasshopper appetizer was very good but not quite crunchy enough. Our dinners were excellent, but the highlight of the meal was the Mexican hot chocolate served at the end. Phenomenal!

Restaurant decor was absolutely amazing. As soon as you walk in, you feel a great atmosphere. Place has a great variety of mezcals, others drinks were served to but most of it mezcal and tequila.
Got to order the starter ceviche, which was a delicious dish. Also ordered mushrooms mole and tlayuda, both of them were great, I didn't read the part where tlayuda didn't include meats, so I was a little disappointed missing the meat.

Recommended dishes: Tres Tacos, Oaxacan Hot Chocolate
Rustic, comfort food of traditional Oxca region. Mole was deep, thick and savory. Taco can come with toppings on the side (some toppings can be spicy). Queso was unlike any that I had before, super stringy and with tomatoes/peppers in it. The Oxca cocktail closest thing to a old fashioned you can get. So full after dinner but the servers did give us small shot of hot chocolate. Highly recommend

I rarely post reviews on restaurants, good or bad, but felt compelled to write this review. I was excited to try this restaurant because it had so many positive reviews on yelp and Google, and Carmel has so many great restaurants. My family and I were painfully disappointed. Out of the four of us, only one of our meals was good (the trout). I ordered three tacos (Two Carnitas and one shrimp), Husband got the squash enchiladas, and another family member got the thlayuda. All of our meals were woefully flavorless, even the beans and rice had no flavor, rice was mushy and clumpy. It felt like everything needed more salt and flavor, even the guacamole and the salsas. However, a lot of it was also overly spicy. My husband and I can both handle spice, but this was unexpectedly spicy just for the sake of being spicy. My tacos were soggy because they were loaded with so much with some sort of slaw that was bitter. I ate one of my tacos and left most of the rest of my food untouched. We were super disappointed with this meal. I mean if you can mess up beans and rice at a Mexican restaurant then there's no hope. I didn't say anything at the time to the server because he didn't seem super friendly And we just wanted to get out of there. We ended up going next-door to the sushi place and getting some takeout. I would not recommend anyone to go to this restaurant.

Love this place. The churros are great and they make some of the best mezcal drinks. The hot chocolate is also a must! Drinks can be a little inconsistent, but usually very good. Also nice that you can sit outside.

Cultura is so worth the hype. We dined outside by the firepit, which honestly made the whole experience even better. Everything we tried was on point—from the nachos to the enchiladas to yes, the crickets (don’t knock it till you try it). The blood orange margarita is non-negotiable—just get it. If you’re in Carmel and want bold flavors and a great vibe, this is your spot.

Our group of 4 was REALLY, really disappointed in this meal. The waitress & service were very kind. But the food itself was terrible quality. The tacos were literally wet, like with water. When I squeezed the tacos, actual water came out of them. Both the chicken and Barbacoa tacos had no taste. The beans were clearly from a can and also flavourless. My friends said their shrimp taco was okay, but so spicy that one friend couldn’t eat it. We had enchiladas and some of the cooked chicken inside was hard, like it had been sitting there for a while. the sauce tasted past its due date as well so we barely picked at it. Considering some of these very positive reviews, Im wondering if we came on an awful day where ingredients were totally different. Im mexican so wondered if my standards are different but each of my friends said the same & we haven’t had an experience like that. I hope the quality of the food is improved.
