Food was not authentically Filipino, Kare Kare was tasteless for $51,server didnt know what bagoong was, the kawali was $40-50 and was dry. The highlight was the garlic rice only as the food had a lack of flavor. For the price you’re paying you’d expect a whole Kawali belly or bowl of kare kare to share around the table. I was excited for some representation on Filipino cuisine but left disappointed and my jaw hurts from chewing on tough carrots and kawali. While it isnt particularly only Filipino food being served here, I would recommended any other place for it.

Lolah played there Saturday night and got the crowd dancing and singing along. The food and service and atmosphere all make this a place you can't miss in Carmel-By-The-Sea.

This restaurant was not clean at all. The plate came out dirty. Food was served on a wood cutting board with so many scratches. It is really hard to clean that properly. The bathroom was very dirty. Overall looked like lipstick on a pig. The food was tasty but expensive for the portion size. I will not go there again!

Although we arrived slightly before dinner time, we got seated right away by Dexter. He was very hospitable and we talked small talk before we ordered food and drinks.
Dexter and his partner Yakob (hope I’m spelling it right) are very professional, friendly and make you feel at home.
The food is delicious, freshly made from scratch and finger licking good. Dexter grew up in the Philippines and also in Malaysia and Singapore. so the food is a perfect fusion from these three countries.
We ordered Lumpia, sinigang soup, Kare-kare, coconut vegetable curry. Portions are very generous.
Overall, an absolute must place to eat while in Carmel. Please do visit this place and give it a try.

Un. Freaking. Believably. Good. If youre not familiar with Fusion cuisine, this is a great place to taste it done right! The Seafood Curry is out of this world and Ed's Clam Chowder is a whole new twist. Jakob and crue make sure you're well attended to without hovering. STRONG recommendation.

I really liked the Kawali pork (I think that’s the name) It came with this really really yummy rice. I wouldn’t recommend the appetizer with the naan and curry. I thought the curry tasted like warm milk. :( ! Really kind server though. The workers seem pretty kind.

This is a lively friendly spot to eat great food, drink, and listen to live music on Saturdays.

The food was quite good, the service was great and the atmosphere was nice but i thought it was overpriced. I know it’s Carmel but i cant justify the price for having the same sides for 3 dishes that we ordered (all carrots and rice). There was little variety and even the sauces were common for the fish and pork. And for desert - we got ube ice cream with costco cookies. The food is good but dont think it’s worth the price.

The people were nice though and there was a live band going. Worth to try just be ready to pay more

Had a lovely meal here. There was live music which was great. Had the clams and the Balinese fried chicken which was so flavorful and delicious.

First thing I heard when I came in the door was the cook, asking his guys there if they had anything to eat yet today. I guess one of them had not because I heard the cook ask him what he wanted to eat. That was nice to to hear.
Anyhow, I Went into the restaurant to have a seat well one of my friends was taking care of other business.
the man that greeted me at the door was a gentleman. He asked if I’d like a drink I said yeah sure I had a Coke. Ask him how much it would be he said it was OK. Since he didn’t charge me for the soda, I gave him a dollar then I saw him put ii in the performers tip jar. that was nice to see.

When my friend D was Was done taking care of business. He got us a plate of something. ( I will call it (just a good plate.) It came on a platter. It will feed two. Or if you are a little bit hungry, just enough for oneI Do not know if it was on the menu. But it was pretty darn good. If it wasn’t on it , I hope the cook remembers that dish he made because next time I am in Carmel, I will be back for an another one.

Always amazing food and ambience at Edwin's. We come a few times a year and enjoy their fusion creative healthy offerings. They have been a bit short on staff the last few times, so it's a little bit of a scramble to get the food but everything is beautifully made fresh and it's a nice ambience. Sometimes the music in the corner can be a little loud when you're trying to chitchat but all in all it's 4.99 stars.

We had a Monterey Mackerel caught that morning! The presentation and flavor was incredible. We also had the fried chicken, which came with a fried egg; also fantastic. This is a family restaurant with amazing authentic flavor and impeccable service.

We are Carmel-By-The-Sea locals so grateful to be able to dine at Edwin's. Outstanding food w great atmosphere, exceptional management & staff who love their unique place as much as we do. Often there is live music which is wonderful too. Nowhere else in our village or surrounding area can you find Dexter's crispy island veggie rolls, or curry bowl or Salmon Tropikal, perfectly presented & delicious.

We arrived ten minutes early for our 6:30 reservation this past Saturday, and within a few minutes placed our order for our food. We received our appetizers relatively quickly and thought we were off to a good start. My husband enjoyed his Caesar salad, and the restaurant started getting busy. Large parties started arriving and receiving their entrees within minutes, all while we waited. I tried waiving staff down to inquire about our food, all to no avail. At 7:45 my husband received his entree, and I still waited. Ten minutes pass and our server comes by and asks me what I ordered, then he finally tells me my food is on its way. When it arrives not only is my food cold, the fried rice was completely dried out and it was past 8:00. Neither of us finished our food because we were so over the whole experience. I told the guy we wanted our bill and expressed to him he clearly had forgotten about us and our order, and instead of being honest to us and apologizing and trying to rectify the situation we got absolutely nothing. This is the first and only time that I haven't tipped a waiter. Very disappointed not only in the server's lack of professionalism but in the restaurant as a whole.

Ate here on a Tuesday Night. Rotating chef knocked it out the park with fresh fish tacos and shrimp. Flavors were dense and incredible. Really exceeded expectations. Live music gave it a fun, upbeat feel. Service was slower than we would have liked and wine was also on the warmer side, but we will be back.
