We had a great time at Galante Vineyards Tasting Room! It was our first ever wine tasting experience, and we greatly benefitted from the great service of the tasting room - we were fortunate to have the place to ourselves for much of the evening, and were guided through our tasting by Patrick, who was very helpful, friendly, and an enjoyable guide to talk to about wine, the history of the town, or just about anything. He gave us insight into the history, growing conditions, and flavors in each wine, and we were able to try a good variety of a few whites, some reds, and even a delicious dessert wine. We do not have much wine-drinking experience, but we thought all the wines were great, very drinkable, and some truly stood out, like the chardonnay, the dessert wine, and the Blackjack Cabernet Sauvignon, so we had to get a few bottles as well. This combination made the wine tasting a true experience, and very worthwhile even for a few wine amateurs.

Great wine testing, cool atmosphere, friendly service. We tried their ~$65 bottle of cabernet (blend), it was very good.

Wow, this is probably my favorite tasting room in Carmel by the sea. I’ve tried a half a dozen and this one is the friendliest and the most generous and knowledgeable. I think it’s the first tasting room that was in Carmel by the sea. Janet was behind the counter telling stories and is very knowledgeable about all the wines and the other things to do in the area.

Absolutely delightful atmosphere, tucked away from the busy shops in a little back street hideaway. Flavorful selection of all of Carmel valley’s best varietals. Has several Bordeaux blends, a Super Tuscan, and many single varietal bottles. Each wine is a prime example of a California terroir spin on the classics. The tasting was $35 for 5 heavy pour tastes. Highly recommend!

Our issue wasn’t with the wine or the service, it with the size of the pour and price for two ‘glasses’ that were the size of a tasting pour, not a glass of wine pour.
$53 for a small sampling. If the ‘pour’ had been even a 1/3 of a glass we’d have been happy, but again, it was more of a sample pour.
Disappointed.
The place is cute and the wines were tasty. The prices seemed slightly higher than others in the area, but mostly I was unimpressed with the main server. It seemed like we were 'work' instead of welcomed guests. With so many options in the area, it will be a while before we return.

Can’t recommend this place enough!
Did a wine tasting here, initially sat inside and then when a spot by the fire pit opened up, went outside. Cute and cozy, tucked away in a secret alley. Staff was friendly and chatty and we enjoyed our tasting. Great atmosphere!
Very small tasting room with sitting inside and outside with very tasty wines!!
We asked for big reds and got them! Lovely outside courtyard to sit in, friendly knowledgeable staff. 5 tasting measures of very nice wines for $35.
Excellent wines! Head down into the courtyard towards the right of the bathrooms. Nestled in a little cottage you can find some delicious wines. They have bold reds, crisp whites, and a fantastic port-style wines. Our wine pourer was excellent and very friendly. We felt like they loved the wines and we enjoyed learning about them. We really enjoyed the variety of Cab Sauvs. There’s seating inside at a bar plus a couple tables, boys some nice tables outside along with a table that has a table top fire under the trees. Wines are decently priced too.
