Tucked into the whimsical streets of Carmel, La Bicyclette feels like a cozy European bistro transported to the California coast—rustic chalkboards, hanging copper pots, and the glow of a wood-fired oven set the scene for an unpretentious yet romantic escape. On a recent visit, we kicked things off with the Provençal mushrooms in Pernod-hazelnut butter (divine, earthy perfection) and spinach gnocchi that melted like clouds. YUM!!
We were lucky to grab a table for lunch without a reservation at this popular spot. My husband and I enjoyed the fresh bread basket, gnocchi appetizer and the squash and speck wood fired pizza, delicious! The staff was friendly and attentive.
What a wonderful experience my wife and I had with La Bicyclette. From receiving a very thoughtful email from Gabe in response to my concern about whether they had Gluten Free options, to Damon personally helping us with our botched reservation (my fault!), then Natalie as hostess patiently fitting us in with a great table and lastly wonderful Blanca our Server; just the most attentive, professional staff! It was the best Gluten Free champignon pizza my wife and I have ever had...
