Excellent wine with unique and light flavors. Looking forward to having some shipped home. I highly recommend checking out Lepe Cellars when in Carmel.
The aromatic notes of this quaint and perfect little boutique winery were exquisite. It shares a space with an art gallery you can roam around and enjoy with your tasting. A must stop! The red blend has a smell you won’t forget!!
Lepe Cellars was the highlight of our day of wine tasting. It’s a small bar tucked into a shared space with an art gallery, which adds a unique and relaxing vibe. You’re welcome to wander and enjoy the art between pours. The woman who helped us with our tasting was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive. Her warm energy and genuine conversation made this stop stand out above all the other tasting rooms we visited. Great wine and even better hospitality.
I live out of town and this is the first wine bar art gallery that really took me by surprise, tira greeted me and gave me one of the best experiences and then a year later I visited again, and it was just extraordinary. thank you tira for making my time there so wonderful and so amazing! I will hope to visit again soon.
Wow, what excellent wine! The gal that walked us through the tasting was delightful, and she said they were all amazing. And my goodness, each one surprised us. Very exceptional wine, all very light, and with some unique flavors that just belong in wine. I Highly recommend!
We came here one afternoon during our visit to Carmel. The wine was phenomenal and complex. Miguel Lepe himself poured the wine and told us about how he came to found Lepe Cellars. If you are in Carmel don’t miss this tasting room.
The wine is stellar, the space is very cool (wine bar + art gallery) and Tira is so great! Amazing tasting and even better conversation. We’ll be back!
The wine was solid, but the hospitality was lacking. My wife and I came in about an hour before closing on a Sunday. We weren't greeted but asked to do a tasting and then maybe a glass depending on what we liked. We then proceeded to probably the worst of the 20+ tasting experiences we've had in the area: tiny pours, no explanations, and generally being ignored even after attempting to make conversation. The host bent over backwards to "impress someone who is French" (her words) who had come in, including giving them a taste of an open gamay they had. When we asked if we could also try it, we were told it was for members only and implied we could try if we joined the wine club, a joke after the experience. Real shame.
Livre the Wine, the gallery and the crew were super nice!
Lepe Cellars is one of the gems of Carmel. I enjoyed their crisp and delicious chardonnay and their light yet rich pinot noir so much during my first visit there that I became a wine member over a year ago. Tira is a joy to sit and chat with every time. Miguel Lepe's story is also inspiring and one I can relate to.

Tira is the most lovely host and the wine tasting was delicious! Very happy we stopped by here on a whim and would recommend to anyone looking for dry + fruit forward wines. Thank you, Tira!
Excellent wines and a wonderful host.
Pours are heavy and frequent. Friendly to experts and novice wine aficionados. Great outdoor seating but the fusion betwen art and the wine.
The Petite Verdot is my favorite, but all his wine is awesome!
My wife and I visited this week on the recommendation of another tasting room in the area. He said "If you want to taste a really good local zinfandel, go to Lepe. The wines are expertly crafted and Tira is incredibly personable. We took a moment and wandered the art gallery attached, sipping our wine. It was a great experience. Don't sleep on this winery. The winemaker knows his craft well.
