Pangea is one of my favorite restaurants because the menu has something for everyone. The food is delicious, prepared with high quality ingredients, and is well-priced for our area. The service is attentive and professional, great bar! The only issue I had was that my father is hard of hearing and the ambient noise is moderately loud, had a hard time hearing him recount how he has been dining in that location for 50 years, under restaurant names like the Butcher Shop and the Jolly Roger. I wanted to better hear those stories. Not sure there is a fix. Otherwise, the vibe there is fun and vibrant. Love the cherry blossom art!
This was my 4th or 5th visit and the food and service were uniformly excellent. The menu is so remarkably large and eclectic that I can't see how they can keep it all together, but they do. Everything I've tried has been great, and service has always been friendly and efficient. Can't wait to come back.

First time last minute first date. Haven our waiter was excellent. Walked us through our experience and options and was spot on with every comment and suggestion. Food was excellent in temperature and portion. New to the area. An excellent evening all around. Talking about it. Will be back.

Very friendly reception followed by exceptionally slow service and disappointing cuisine. An artichoke appetizer with the texture of shoe leather and pasta that didn't rise to restaurant quality. It's hard to get a Monday night reservation in Carmel by the Sea — those places that are open shouldn't take advantage of demand outweighing supply. But that's how we felt. Disappointing for sure - we won't return.

The hostess Mariz was very attentive and friendly which made the atmosphere even better.The food was so delicious!?Loved all of them with the fresh vegetables.(The strawberry lemonade was a bit sweeter than usual. Suggestion: maybe the sauce for the Steak would be better by it's side)Thank you for everything!

Excellent pre-fixe value. Good choices for main entree. I picked the skirt steak & it was cooked perfectly. I had to eat just half of the serving because I had to leave room for dessert. The hostess was very welcoming & super nice. My waiter, super attentive, kinda borderline a bit too much but I know he's just trying to make sure I'm doing OK. The early evening dinner is a very good value especially in pricey Carmel-By-The-Sea. Highly recommend!

This place is a gem! Never seems too crowded, but I've eaten there twice now. While it's nothing super fancy, just a very nice place... The food and service are fantastic!!! The first time I went, the waiter even came back and said I tipped too much . He thought I made a mistake, but I told him it wasn't a mistake, I just thought the service was that good. Don't hesitate to try this place out.. if you do, you will be going back!
Entrees were awful and damn near inedible. Artichoke and eggplant appetizers were adequate. Tables so close together couldn't even see the server behind me when he took orders

Had happy hour appetizers and a cocktail.The grilled artichokes were outstanding, gyozas and napoleon eggplant (not on happy hour) was delicious too.The Asian BBQ wings was a huge miss, straight up regular mediocre BBQ sauce, nothing Asian about it at all, would avoid.

I usually do not write reviews but this was an exceptional experience. From the greeting at the door to accommodating us with our choice of tables to the wait staff to the food in both presentation and taste as well as as value. The beet salad the best we ever had. The sand dabs also and the dessert-creme brulee (2 flavors grand Marnier and espresso served separately on one plate). The wine by the glass also exceptional value--my favorite Rombauer chardonnay ?❤️ will definitely come back and bring more friends.

We came here for lunch.+ Seated promptly- We ordered the fried Calamari appetizer and it was a huge disappointment. The garnish tasted better than the protein. The calamari was rubbery and the breading flaked off immediately. We did not even bother finishing it, it was that bad.- Our server forgot my drink order and we had to ask a Bus Boy to tell the server.- Our food came LATE. Another table seated right next to us got their food while we waited for our food, and we ordered before they were even seated!We won't be back here.
