Dametra Mediterranean is one of the must visit restaurants in Carmel. Located right in the middle of -By-the-sea, close to the beach and surrounded by upscale shopping places and art galleries. The ambiance is welcoming with warm colors, authentic decor and warm table cloths with nicely decorated silverware and well chosen designs of plates. Had a 915pm reservation, place still busy so we still waited about 10 min. Attentive service, delicious food, and a variety of staff checked on us, not just the server. Impressed overall.

This is the best place to take kids for dinner without ruining other people's Carmel getaway ?. The ambiance and service is still impeccable, but it's relatively easy to get a reservation and the food comes out quickly so you could be done with dinner in 1-1.5hrs (for better or worse, depending on what you're looking for).
