This was our first visit to Carmel and we ate here one evening. The staff was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was good energy and with a lot of patrons. We weren't as happy with the food. The truffle risotto was a bit too strong in flavor (truffle oil) and the pasta in the seafood linguine was way overcooked and tough. The wines were good in any case.
We went at 6:30and sat in the back room- I'd asked for a quiet table- which it was?The food was delish- my friend had the sandabs and I had the prosciutto on arugula- not too hungry after a big lunch! The service was excellent!!

Always a fantastic experience. We come out from Texas two or three times a year and always have a meal at PortaBella. Fantastic food, friendly professional service, warm ambience and a definite one to repeat. Fantastic braised short ribs. The bisque is amazing. My wife loves the salmon. plenty of dessert options.
