This is the best place to take kids for dinner without ruining other people's Carmel getaway ?. The ambiance and service is still impeccable, but it's relatively easy to get a reservation and the food comes out quickly so you could be done with dinner in 1-1.5hrs (for better or worse, depending on what you're looking for).

No joke the best food I've ever had. The salmon burger and the clam chowder are to die for. And not to mention the gorgeous atmosphere. The most attentive waiters I've ever seen also. Must come here im not kidding!

What an unexpected delight! My girls and I were walking around Carmel looking for a place to have dinner. We walked by this restaurant, and it was HOPPING! We decided to see how long of a wait there would be to join in the fun. The hostess told us there were four seats at the bar and they could seat us immediately, (even though my twins are only 16, she said it was family friendly). What fun we had! The food we ordered was all beyond expectation and in large quantity! Delicious! I had the Paella which had a nice touch of ground sausage. My girls ordered platters and we had so much food leftover after we were completely satisfied! We were able to box it up and have it for lunch the next day and it was still delicious! During our meal, live music started and it was full of energy. The whole restaurant started clapping and several people got up to dance in their spot--even my girls! To top off the night, they gave us baklava on the house. One of my daughters said it was the best experience she ever had.

Fantastic! The wait is worth it. Quality is amazing, portions substantial. Everything was cooked perfectly and wonderful service. Can't recommend enough.

Just ate lunch at Dametra had the Gyro and fried calamari. It was great. Best gyro around by far the calamari is phenomenal. Great service and such a great environment. One of my favorite spots by far. Everyone is so nice too.

Dametra Mediterranean is one of the must visit restaurants in Carmel. Located right in the middle of -By-the-sea, close to the beach and surrounded by upscale shopping places and art galleries. The ambiance is welcoming with warm colors, authentic decor and warm table cloths with nicely decorated silverware and well chosen designs of plates. Once seated, you are quickly welcomed by the servers and Nadeem, who is the owner of the restaurant. Nadeem is always smiling and welcoming guests at each table. The menu is crafted in authentic Mediterranean style with warm colors. You feel at home with the table settings and the menu. You will find delicious choices of starters, entries, sandwiches, gyros, falafels, shawarmas with choice of chicken, lamb, beef. You cannot go wrong with any dish on the menu. The Shawarma portions are large and may be good to split with a choice of appetizer.Delicious food and deserts. We were offered mint tea and baklava for dessert at no charge. There is live music in the evening at time of dinner and that's on my to-do list for next time. Enjoy the place and food and let me know how you like it.

Really overhyped and overpriced restaurant. Cannot believe this place has so many stellar reviews. The singing and music were a cute touch but not enough to redeem the lackluster food and exorbitant pricing. The $35! vegetarian plate is $3 less than the lamb shank plate and you only get two falafel with one veggie kabob. It's crazy how much they charge here. The rice was bland and they charge for pita. Nothing is included with the meals. I get that the area is a tourist trap with high rent but other eateries around value the customer and don't take advantage by charging an arm and leg for very mediocre food. Unimpressed with the experience except my hubby liked his lamb and the music was a fun touch, hence the two star rating.

Had a 915pm reservation, place still busy so we still waited about 10 min. Attentive service, delicious food, and a variety of staff checked on us, not just the server. Impressed overall.

Ok experience- there are a ton of better options in town. Host was unfriendly, dolmas were good, hummus was decent, chicken Caesar salad was amongst the worst I’ve ever had. Veggie platter with below average falafels was overpriced. I’m sure they pay $30k per month in rent but should put more effort towards quality food. Server was very nice.

We discovered this hidden gem on one of our trips to Monterey and have made a point to stop in with every return visit. The food is tasty, the ambiance is festive and the waitstaff and owner are so fun with music and dancing- guest participation encouraged. It really makes for a memorable experience! It's family friendly while still feeling like a special night out. Highly recommend!!!

Amazing restaurant! The music is lively, very beautiful inside. The employees are very kind and attentive. The food is wonderful! Best pita bread and hummus I've ever had! The pita is so pillowy and soft, nice and warm. The lasagna was wonderful as well.
