The food was authentically French, the ambiance delightful, and the service excellent. I would recommend Patisserie Boissiere Restaurant to anyone looking for a lovely French meal.

quiet on a winterish weeknight, but very nice. entrees were excellent, deserts extensive and delicious.

Had a good time with old friends catching up in the nice relaxing atmosphere. As always service was great and food was too!

Such a charming and cozy spot! The fireplace in the center of the restaurant gives it the perfect warm, inviting vibe. My partner ordered the beef stew and I had the angel hair pasta with prawns — both dishes were flavorful with generous portions. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the prices were pleasantly lower than expected. Highly recommend!

Food was prepared right and was generous for the type of food we had — halibut and duck. Staff was very personable.

This is always our first stop during our annual trip to Carmel. The food is exceptional and the service is excellent. This spot has the best Onion soup and escargot. Save room for the desserts. We always take an array back to our hotel room for later. This place will never disappoint you.

Had wonderful dinner last night with friends from out of town. They couldn’t stop talking about their meal and attentive service we received…The short ribs are always my favorite ❤️

I have yet to get a meal here that wasn't FANTASTIC. My go to is the French Onion Soup and it is always satisfying. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, and the staff have great personalities and very helpful. Boissiere is my first stop every time I come to Carmel.

Food is just awful and the whole experience was meh. We ordered beef bourguignon and the special which is soup de poissons. The beef was dry and worst of all, after 45min of wait, cold. We had to tell the server and they remake the dish for us. Then it’s too salty but at that point we are already too tired to bother. The soup tasted ok but the clam and mussels were undercooked. They were mostly closed, difficult to open, and taste raw.
When we told the waiter about the issues with the dish, he said he will ask the chef, but he just end up bringing us two pieces of dessert which we are not interested in, we didn’t eat any of that.
Overall the food is terrible, service was okay(server didn’t pour water for us and wait is way too long), atmosphere was okay but too warm.
We wasted our mood, time and money. 😑

Our expectations might have been too high due to the great reviews.
Too many mistakes made for a less than enjoyable anniversary dinner, even though the food was pretty good.
First,
we were served wine, my husband tasted it and it was very good. Unfortunately, it was not the wine on the wine list. We didn’t notice until we drank half the bottle. It would’ve been absolutely fine if they told us that that particular wine was not available and asked us if they can substitute. But that is not what happened. But, we did enjoy the wine.
Second,
We ordered the charcuterie and was told that it was no longer available.
We then changed to the baked brie and truffle pate for my appetizer. We started eating the baked brie but noticed there was no pate. We called the waitress and let her know. Her response was “there is no pate?“ I am not quite sure how the waitress who brought us the appetizer could not have noticed that half the appetizer was missing.
She did bring over a separate plate of pate, but it was obvious that it was not a truffle pate, but just plain liver pate. Once again, the pate was not bad, just not what was represented on the menu.
The table next to us had to call their waiter back also. The special that they ordered was a chicken breast dish. He told the waiter he has a chicken thigh and a leg on his plate instead of a breast that was the special and asked what had happened. The waiter shrugged and no real explanation was given. The gentleman was not very happy.
If a restaurant asks the table, if they are OK with the substitution beforehand, that would be acceptable to a point. We didn’t like that they left things out or substituted without even asking the diner first. Even the wine.
The food tasted perfectly good, but we left feeling a little scammed .

Can’t say enough about this place! It’s our favorite in Carmel, (and we’ve tried them all). The food is amazing, especially their famous French onion soup (best I’ve ever had), cobb salad, and Coquille Saint Jacques, not to mention any of their decadent desserts (try the lemon tart). And not only is the food fantastic but the atmosphere is warm and cozy and feels like we’re in a darling village in France. Giuliano, Lydia and their staff are always delightful, accommodating and recommend wonderful wines for all budgets. Make sure you dine here on your next visit to Carmel! It’s sure to be memorable.

Dated. This place belongs to another era. Everything is dated: the menu, the decor, the clientele. The food was ok. It was very hot and stuffy inside. I wouldn't go back except maybe to take home a pastry.

Always outstanding. The French onion soup is just like Paris. And you feel like you've there. Alan & Laura
