Les (and Mike) have been our hosts on multiple occasions over the past four years. We have hosted family reunions, college Christmas parties and company gatherings. Each time, Les and her staff have gone out of their way to make sure that the Lodge feels like returning home. Cathy and I consider the Hill House our home away from home and simply can't imagine a better spot. Add the restaurant and saloon and you have the complete package but at the end of the day, it's really about the

I have always counted on Laureles to be a down to earth, comfortable place to get a drink that's not boujee or off the charts expensive. But yesterday I ordered a Manhattan; it was made with Makers Mark whiskey and served on the rocks. It came up on the bill as a "Premium" drink and cost $18. An $18 Manhattan is not served on the rocks and it is definitely not made with Makers Mark. They have no drink menu and the server told me the well brands are so bad she always uses the "premium" bottles (without confirming that the customers want to pay "premium" prices). I'm feeling like this system needs some fine tuning. If I want to pay $18/$20 for a drink I know where to go and it is not here. That being said - the fish tacos and other favorite foods are amazing and the staff all work very hard to take care of the customers. The bar area is cozy and has a home town energy that encompasses the Carmel Valley vibe.

This place is wonderful. It hasn't changed, much, for decades. The menu is pretty simple, and I'd recommend respecting that. They don't do super-well with complex cooking. But the space is fantastic, a throwback to what Carmel Valley was like decades ago. Plaid carpet, taxidermy, cowboy stuff on the walls, a fireplace. And the staff is remarkable Deirdre is a wonderful human being. They remember your name -- this is definitely a "locals" place. They'll bring you whatever you need. And there's even a house cat or two, who sleeps outside under one of the heat lamps on an unused table. The Lodge is kind of like taking your own kitchen and living room, and recreating it somewhere else. It feels like home. It's not fancy. But man, is it great.

My only wish is for air conditioning in the rooms. Other than that it is a nice place to

Excellent prime rib on Fridays!

Attended their Easter "brunch/buffet". It was far away from either. The prices were extremely expensive for what you received. Some of the items you served yourself via a "buffet" others were made to order. The French Toast you had to go through the "buffet" for. You got ONE piece of French toast, one egg and two pieces of bacon for $24. A guest in our party went up to ask for another piece of french toast and was told no. Again it was $24, one should expect more than one piece for that price. The crab cakes were also ordered, they came out dry, cold and were over priced. Two crake cakes & vegetables for $38. So not worth it. I will not be going back for any "special/holiday" meals.

We love this place because it's a throw back. Has such and old rustic ranch feel. Did you also know the man the found this ranch house also invented Monterey Jack Cheese?!?

The old cabin feel is adorable. That is the only positive thing about this place. Once you walk in and meet the grumpy owner, you want to turn around and run. I gave it a chance and sat down with my husband for dinner and drinks. I ordered fish that came with some crusty potatoes from a soup kitchen. The bartender was rude, and I could have had better dessert from a Denny's off of the I-5. A better bet would be bringing your McDonald's and sitting next to the poolside enjoying the weather.

I coordinated a wedding at Los Laureles Lodge, and the service was extraordinary. The banquet team was more than happy to help with anything you needed, and most importantly, they seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Even the guests noticed and told me to pass the message along. Alina and Les were the venue's point of contacts both via email and in-person. I appreciate that they were on-site at the venue walkthrough, ceremony rehearsal, and on the wedding day. It gives me a peace of mind that the people I've been exchanging emails with are on-site to follow through with the plans I discussed. Los Laureles Lodge is a great venue to consider for private events!

Great service, cozy rooms and a very calming quiet location. Owners are very sweet and CARE about their customers. It's my only choice when staying in the area. Once morning we even woke up to a deer outside our door! Love this place.

Deirdre was the waitress & the bartender. She was hopping all over the room. She was grace under fire. We ordered LIITs, a Cosmo & a glass of wine. The drinks were delightful. We also ordered tempura green beans. They were gone in a flash. 3 out of the 4 of us ordered the fish tacos. They were grilled, fresh & plentiful. Our dear friend ordered the fish and chips. The fish was delectable and the fries were a winner. Overall an outstanding evening. We will be back.
