we have been going to this restaurant for years they have a decent breakfast, we recently went for dinner and my wife ordered the salmon $28. it was bad, old, cheap. she told the waiter and asked for something different. they refused to refund the dish. bad food and bad service. we will not be back. there are other places that make a better breakfast.

Trailside Cafe has a Great Breakfast Menu, it always has good food & service, and the outside atmosphere is wonderful when we have nice weather.

Just your run-of-the-mill diner staffed by the loveliest locals you'll ever meet. My boyfriend and I stopped here before our wine tour in Carmel Valley, and the Traileside Cafe provided the best hearty food to fuel us for the inebriation that lied ahead. We split the fish and chips and tuna melt which were both good. Albeit, not the best food we've ever had - maybe w notch above Black Bear Diner. But, not bad at all! What made this experience even better was our attentive, amicable waiter.

A complete waste of space ! The place was the coldest restaurant I have ever eaten in this Jan. 11 2024 there was no heating period and there were two scores of heating a wood stove & ducks for some type of central heating that were NOT turned on and at 6 -8 pm it was just miserable cold & had to have winter coats on for the complete meal that was disgusting. The food was HORRIBLE, had the $19.95 two fish tacos' taco where over sauced with some kind of mayo dressing & a small ramekin was the side of black beans (surly) canned and where cold upon serving. Don't waste your time trying this place as there are MANY other places to eat in the valley that are worthwhile. A complete joke calling this place a restaurant & the if there was a way to explain the food and comfort for dinning I have done my best to explain it . DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME , LOOK ELSEWHERE. review by Local CV Resident 01/2024

Ahhhhhh-mazing!! The food was so delicious! I got the pulled pork sandwhich and I will say half way through, I ditched the buns and made it into pulled pork fries but that's just because my bun got a little soggy with the amount of chipotle aioli, BUT it was still so good! My husbands grilled chicken pesto was also very delicious! They do not skimp on the portion sizes we barely finished the plates. The service was very good too, his name was Martín. He was very polite and prompt and kind. The atmosphere was very nice we sat outside, although we did think it was closed at first because the OPEN sign wasn't illuminated but it was the middle of the day so that's probably why. 10/10 I will be back!

This place is the best kept secret in Carmel Valley! I love going here any time I want to treat myself. The sun is always shining, the service is amazing, and the food is consistently delicious. If I'm ever feeling down, Trailside Café is guaranteed to leave me in a good mood. I absolutely love it here!

Nice little restaurant with large breakfast and lunch menus. Salads, sandwiches, entrees, eggs, pancakes, and eggs Benedict. Very few options for those of us who are GF (no gluten free bread) but they will do their eggs Benedict dishes with a tomato or spinach instead of English muffin. Inside and outside tables and a beer garden in back. Service is good but if you are in a hurry, eat somewhere else. No one rushes here. Dogs are welcome on the front porch dining area and they even have water bowls so pups can hydrate. Full bar inside. A fun place to eat then you can go wine tasting!

Beautiful location with great outside patio, friendly staff and I am not going to lie one of the best peppermint mochas I have had since college days in San Diego...I was craving a breakfast burrito- it was a tasty and healthy full of eggs, peppers, black beans, and pico de gallo. I honestly was craving a California breakfast burrito with chorizo and potatoes with eggs and a spicy salsa- but this was probably a better option! Sat in the sun on a warm coastal winter day, read my book, people watched, while waiting for my dog to finish her grooming. Great place and seriously would go back a thousand times just for the holiday coffee!

This is a great place to grab food in carmel Valley. Everything we've had has been really good. The Cobb salad is delicious, bomb sandwiches and great pork. Really good selection of beers on draft and bottles/cans as well as many choices for wine. We will be
