Working on a job in Carmichael been to Mateo‘s five times now the first three times were great. The second time at 8:45 they wouldn’t serve another drink the fifth time ordered a top shelf. Margarita watch the bartender. Pour the margarita with the house. Poor questioned it And the waitress did nothing. Great restaurant just can’t go back.

Went yesterday for my first time, maybe it was just a bum day for the restaurant, I’m not sure but waited super long to get somebody to take our order and there were only two other couples there, ordered the tri-tip sandwich and although it was good, there was just really no flavor that made it stand out to be spectacular. For that price, not worth a second visit . There was nothing wrong with it so I didn’t want to voice a concern to the staff, as I said, it was good but not spectacular like all the other reviews so it could’ve been just a bum day for the restaurant. I’m not sure but Quite pricey to be disappointed.

The back patio is so very cute and peaceful. We had lunch here for the first time yesterday. The service was excellent. The Cesar salad is too die for and the calamari was VERY good. Now for the pizza… I was so very disappointed. It had more cheese on it than I have ever experienced. I mean globs and globs you couldn’t taste anything else. The pepperoni were very low quality of essentially what youd buy at Raley’s. The crust was delicious but was so lost in the amount of cheese on it. I’d come back for everything but the pizza unfortunately.

This was the second birthday dinner we had in the patio .We had such good Service and had a round private table in the corner.There were misters which was nice because it was hot.The only complaint was they charged me extra for the cup cakes we brought. We had them put them inside so they wouldn’t melt all they did was bring them out and we had plates.

Ive been eating at Matteo’s for years. Ordered pennes pasta bolognese takeout. $30.00 with tax before tip and the portion is skimpy. It’s pasta and inexpensive to make. Your and Italian restaurant. Please do better or you’ll lose customers that want to have an adult portion for an entree.
Fine food dining. Little pricey, but it's worth it. Out to impress someone, first date... this place has the comforts for just that. I am from Minnesota and this place made me feel comfortable. Thanks

She had a drink they don't serve made for me. Now the dish I tried was Amazing! Compliments to the chef. Scallops and gnocchi perfectly cooked

A true neighborhood gem. Tasty food and an amazing wine selection, including small pours to try new wines. Reservations suggested, but we’ve always been seated pretty quickly without one. It doesn’t get much better in this part of Carmichael than an evening spent dining outdoors at Matteo’s.

We usually order for lunch time. Fettuccine alfredo with the add-on of chicken and extra garlic bread.. it's yummy! 🤤 I like trying their soups if l I remember to ask, everyone I've had so far is the flavorful and delicious.
