It was okay. I'd recommend the meat grills, however, which they cook in front of the restaurant. The pictures they have on the menu are not the same esp for the sides. I thought treatment wasn't as friendly towards females at least my experience of it. No ice for drinks.

Just received my order via DoorDash that someone ordered for me because I'm feeling sick. The food is so greasy especially that I can plant do not recommend the meat was dry. The salad was disgusting. Makes me even more sick looking at the food instead of making me feel better.

Afghanistan food is much better than I expected. Tender and juicy lamb, tasty chicken, flavorful rice and special tea. Everything is clean and excellent service. Good price for a whole meal.

Absolutely delicious! My partner's parents recently discovered this place and came back multiple times in one week - and I have to say I understand why. While the decoration and look of the space is simple, the food and service is top-notch. We made a point to order both lamb and beef kebabs, eggplant and then dessert. Each dish was delicious, and a good balance between freshness and flavour. While both beef and lamb were tender and juicy, the family vote was towards the lamb, with the eggplant order also being a crowd favourite at our table. A big portion for me, so I had leftovers but my partner nearly cleared his plate. Definitely coming back, we even got some food to go for lunch tomorrow! Highly recommend if you're in the neighborhood. ((Bonus: The staff gave us a small preview of what's to come on the menu, so lots to look forward to. They were also kind and accommodating, especially when we had specific questions about the dishes.))

The food here is excellent! The people are super friendly. The restaurant is very clean. I was doing laundry next door at sunshine laundry and every 10 or 15 minutes or so thelaundromat would fill with a delicious aroma. So when my laundry was done I just had to go and hunt it down. I got there like 3 minutes before 11. And they were still open, kinda, the man was super friendly and welcomed me in. He didn't even mention that they closed at 11. I ordered the Chicken kebab, and he mentioned that there are a few sides that just come with it and some Rice so I got that and and he asked me casually if I was going to be there guest or take it to go which I found very sweet and inviting. So I was like sure I'll eat it here. So it didn't take long for my food to be ready maybe 10-15 minutes and wow this food is AMAZING. Everything was sooooo good. The white sauce is delicious I HAD to ask for extra. The chicken was sooooo good and they gave me a lot too. Rice so good. All of it! Everything got an A+ in my book. But what really got me was how nice they all were. The host told me what everything was and answered all my questions and even tho it was wayyyy past closing they never once rushed me or gave me the side eye. I've never had afghan food before but I definitely will go back. So so good. Oh my. So good. (Says with a mouth full of food)Go eat there. Hurry run!

We had an excellent lunch! I can't wait to take more friends there. The food was delicious and the portions large. The only thing not perfect was we only got one napkin and didn't see others. But there was a box of tissues on the table so I used that (because I was lazy ). We had beef koobideh (3 skewers was more than enough). We had sabzi (which was meaty, lean & tender, and tasty). We had an eggplant dish that was fantastic. A tomato and onion salad. Fresh Afghan bread. Saffron tea. (I'm not a tea drinker, but I figured I might as well try it, since he brought it. To my surprise, I really enjoyed it.) Oh, the koobideh came with perfect rice with little berries in it. And the tea had mint and lemon. Two more things: the grill was outside in front of the window, so we watched him cook our food. And the restroom was clean.

I am always so excited to discover new places to eat and I am even more psyched that this gem is so close to my house. My husband and I had dinner at Royal Cuisine last night just on the basis of a Google search and the reviews that accompanied it. We figured, why not try a new place? We're so glad we did-- the food was unbelievable. Everything is freshly cooked to order so patience is a must. But it is so worth the wait (which wasn't really that long-- 20 min). I had the lamb kabob and my husband had the beef koobideh (I only got pics of my food but trust me when I tell you the koobideh is delicious--and you get three good sized skewers). We were not expecting the amount of food that arrived at our table. A big basket of delicious Afghan bread was the first to arrive, along with some saffron tea with mint and lemon. Each of our entrees came with a tomato/onion/cucumber salad, a tasty chickpea stew, and fluffy basmati rice with saffron and mulberries. There was also a yogurt herb sauce which was great with both the meat and the bread. We also ordered frini, an Afghan custard flavored with cardamom and pistachio (dessert is non-negotiable). Everything was so flavorful and well-balanced. The service was top notch and the family that runs the restaurant was so warm and kind. It was such a great experience and we will most certainly be back! They've only been open for 8 months so I hope people try them out and support them. It's located in a little nondescript strip mall between a Goodwill and a karate dojo-- as many great eateries tend to be. The lesson here: venturing out of your comfort zone is a good thing. Here's hoping that Royal Cuisine remains a Carmichael neighborhood fixture for a long time to come. Highly recommend it!

Family run place- they are so nice and happy to help with the menu. I've been a few times and everything has been excellent. You get a lot of food so the value is very good. Try the eggplant
