Gar Woods Grill & Pier

Gar woods Easter buffet was very good. Spread was open and inviting. Lobster risotto was excellent I enjoyed the lobster and shrimp rolls as well as the crab legs. I didn't have the lamb or prime rib. The candy,lemon bars And cream puff were good dessert choices. The Lake was hazy but quiet

We go there several times each year, we don't live in the area. The food, service and atmosphere is always great. 

There's hardly a better Lake Tahoe experience than sitting on the deck with that amazing view and enjoying the equally amazing food. And sure, have a Wet Woody while you're at it. Relatives visiting from out of town (and out of the country) were properly impressed.

Our experience at Gar Woods was fantastic. My wife and in-laws joined me for dinner, and I was delighted to find that the restaurant and staff were as accommodating as I remembered from my previous visit. My wife, who has been on a strict diet, was thoroughly impressed with the food. The restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate my wife's dietary restrictions, which we were grateful for. My in-laws also enjoyed the restaurant's ambiance and the beautiful scenery. I highly recommend Gar Woods to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience with an exceptional view. We will definitely be returning.

This visit to Gar Woods was disappointing. We waited a long time for our table to be ready. The waitress didn't finish taking all our orders before she left the table. We had to flag her down to finish. Our food was not the usual excellent meal. Meat was raw, not rare, raw. Some meals were cold. Salad came after the dinner was served. Very disappointing experience. We have always loved Gar Woods. For the money spent we expected better.

Loved this place as a dinner for a small girls trip. They have an extensive drink menu and you know we had to try the Wet Woody. We ordered the seafood bisque, French onion soup, steamed clams, and crab cakes as starters. They were all delicious. We then split the prime rib and the pistachio crusted halibut. The food was so good. The only issue we had was how stuffed we were after. Would definitely go back. The views alone were enough to go and the food didn't disappoint. There was also live music as we were heading out Friday night.

The ribeye steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. The vegetables and sides were not very appealing. The view is amazing, but the noise level was a little too loud to have a conversation at our table for two. Service was prompt, but no one returned to refill water glasses.

Celebrating our number 51 wedding anniversary. We chose to celebrate our anniversary dinner at Gar Woods Restaurant on Lake Tahoe and were not disappointed. Nice lakefront views, excellent service, and fantastic meal! Our server, Celeste, couldn't have been better and definitely added to our celebration experience! The meal was excellent. Highly recommend the Halibut and also the filet mignon was superb. Awesome original cocktails too!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a lunch at Gar Woods. The view of Lake Tahoe there is fantastic. We both had the filet mignon which was cooked as ordered and was delicious. The waiter was personable and attentive. For our anniversary, a complimentary dessert was provided. We throughly enjoyed our lunch experience at Gar Woods,

We were married in South Lake Tahoe 23 years ago. We think Garwoods is the perfect setting to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Service is great & the food is delicious. Can't beat the relaxing atmosphere with beautiful lake view. Highly recommend.

Went for my sister's bach party and we had such great service. We had the cobb salads and french onion soups and they were so good! We also had two pitchers of woodys! Desserts were great as well!

Honestly very disappointing. Heard that the food and drinks were good, however it was crowded and we had to shout across the table to talk. Wet woody was adequate, underwhelming yet somehow still tasty. The food lacked flavor except for the Tuna Tacos. Service was fine but very busy. DO NOT BUY INTO THE HYPE

I made a reservation and made a note specifically that We needed an outside table because we had a pup with us... We got there and were told dogs aren't allowed on premises!!!! After driving an hour to get there from our home I think you know how thoughtless these folks are to not tell me after we even left a note. Food has been so so in past anyway and we will not be going there again. The hostess was indifferent and could care less about our dilemma and even looked up our reso that stated our comments and just said oh well we missed it!
