TLDR: Food is bland and overpriced. Service is meh. Views are good.My wife and I went to Gar Woods for her birthday dinner and before we did we made a reservation like their website suggested, which they did not seem to bother checking. We were seated 6 inches from another table with plenty of other open tables outside.We ordered the lobster deviled eggs, seared diver scallops and prime rib. Overall the food was bland, unseasoned and underwhelming. The egg mixture for the deviled eggs was unseasoned and the lobster was uninspiring on top. The scallops were fine, but had too much of a fishy taste for what you would assume to be fresh scallops. The prime rib was advertised as only being available Fridays and Saturdays and it was also fine but again bland and more chewy than I would normally expect.The service was fine. No offers for refills on our drinks, but the staff all were very young. I did not blame them for the food being wack and still tipped generously even though our experience was mediocre.The view is what saves this place. It is stunning and bumps what would be a one star review to a two star review.Overall my bill after tip was roughly $175 for 2 people and we didn’t finish what we ordered because it didn’t taste good. Tough to walk away feeling like I got ripped off because it’s expensive and the experience wasn’t great. Maybe it was a bad night, maybe not.

Loved every minute of this place. The “wet woodys”, the food, the service (Savannah I think her name was?) was so attentive, spot on and even a good laugh. We will definitely return! Also the dinner we had was outstanding, but the lobster shrimp bisque needs its own shoutout. Just wow.Thank you for a truly wonderful experience and night.
The atmosphere was fantastic, and the views were amazing. The food was fantastic. The staff handled our large group with with a good attention to detail and care. I will be back next time I visit Lake Tahoe.

Cool place but a bit pricey. I guess you have to pay for those amazing lake views. The sliders are delicious and be sure to get some homemade chips with the sauce!!

Overall one star because felt they were biased in providing service.Gar Woods Grill and Pier in Lake Tahoe and was impressed by the delicious food and stunning ambiance. The scenic views of the lake paired perfectly with the flavorful dishes served. However, my experience was marred by instances of racism in the service. Despite the enjoyable atmosphere, I couldn't overlook the discomfort caused by discriminatory treatment from some staff members by not attending us for long time. It's disheartening to encounter such behavior in an otherwise charming establishment. I hope Gar Woods takes steps to address these issues and ensure a welcoming environment for all patrons.

We had Selena as our server, she was so sweet and attentive! I cannot recommend her enough. We got the Cuban sandwich special of the day, it was okay. It seemed not totally thought through and lack luster. The overly tan hostess was unwelcoming and rude upon arrival, even when we were walking in with a smile.
Beautiful views of Lake Tahoe both indoor and outdoors. Service was excellent and really friendly. I got the fish tacos and the fish was grilled to perfection and well seasoned. My partner got the cheeseburger and fries and both were excellent. The fries are so tasty! Definitely would love to visit this restaurant again and this time, dine outside on their beautiful deck!

This place is a North Lake Tahoe staple. Whether it's winter or summer, I always enjoy a trip out there for a Wet Woody. The lake views are stunning year round and in the summer, the seating extends out to the docks. Their lobster bisque is my favorite appetizer. It's rich and creamy with perfect little chunks of lobster. This might seem weird but follow me on this, it kinda tastes like a grilled cheese sandwich. Try it. The roasted prime rib is an entree well worth the price you're paying for it. It's well seasoned and you can only get it medium rare. Love the way it's cooked evenly all the way though and not dry anywhere.
