Carpinteria’s hidden gem! Excellent food, fast service and a bartender that knows how to make Margaritas!
Try an item that’s not on the menu. As for a Chingadera! Unbelievable!
Reservation recommended because they do get really busy. Parking is hard to find.

I've eaten here dozens of time over the years as a 45-year local, and tonight was the worst service I've ever had. The server took 15 minutes to come to our table. We had no water, only chips and salsa that the bus boy brought us. Every other employee at the restaurant came to our table more times than the server did. We were only graced with her presence twice. The table next to us got up and left after they waited 20 minutes. They didn't have waters either, just chips and salsa. The food runner did a better job and should be promoted to server after you fire the current server. And the owner was there, I've been going there since I was a small kid so I know who he is. He either doesn't see how awful the service that they currently provide is, or he's severely understaffed. I've been working in the service industry for 25 years, and they need Robert Irvine to do a restaurant impossible there. The food was mid at best. One of our plates came out with no cheese on the refried beans, while the other came out with the cheese melted on top. There is no consistency and no accountability from the expo. It should have been fixed before they sent it out.

This place has amazing value (especially during happy hour, which is somehow over 6 hours long) and they do the food right! Had the enchilada off the happy hour menu and it came piping hot on a stone plate, the way that would make mama proud! Plus it was only $10!
The chips and salsa were proper as well, with it being fairly obvious they use home grown peppers. The outdoor dining is excellent and has shade from a beautiful tree. The wait-staff was so kind and even gifted us a free church to taste, since they just started making them in-house.
Overall, we spent 40 for a meal of 2 enchiladas, a margaritas, and some fried ice cream. Absolutely incredible, will be returning 100%

Driving back to L.A. from Santa Barbara, we were starving and pulled off in Carpenteria to take a chance on a restaurant and settled on Delgado's. What a gem! Service was great, they refilled our chips and salsa immediately while we waited for dinner. We had Pobrecito Burrito (delish!!), Birria Tacos, traditional chile relleno/cheese enchilade plate (came bubbling hot and the red sauce was fantastic), chile relleno stuffed with tri-tip and a spicy, creamy sauce (don't remember the name but it was soo good!). We ordered the Pobrecito and the relleno with tri-tip to go so we could eat it again for lunch the following day ? We would drive up from L.A. just to eat here again. Parking was a teeny challenge, but when the parking lot is full, it tells you the restaurant will be good :) Thanks for the wonderful meal!

The food was overpriced and it wasn’t good :( I still ate it but I did like their happy hour margaritas! The atmosphere and service is very nice.

I had a wonderful Cali Burrito and margarita from here while passing thorough on an arduous journey. The only thing that surpassed how good the food was was the unbelievably friendly staff that works here. I chatted with many employees and all of them were extremely kind and listened to me ramble about my day. I will definitely be coming back here next time I’m in Carpenteria.

Excellent food. Don't skip the Queso appetizer. While not normally something I go for, theirs is exceptional with real cheese, chorizo and grilled onions. Large menu, with large serving sizes. You will leave full, happy and wanting to go back. Excellent carnitas and asada. Chips come with different salsa, all delicious.
