“I am a Thai food fanatic and I was excited when this little family owned business opened. I had heard that it is good but a bit pricey. I agree that it is slightly more expensive than its competition in the area (Siam Elephant, Meun Fan Thai, etc), however, their portions are a good size and delicious. The interior is simple with minimal decor. It appears to be more of a take out spot. Nonetheless, the staff is super welcoming and friendly.I came in for midday for the lunch special which comes with an entree, soup of the day or salad, white rice and a crispy wonton. The soup was Tofu Tom Kha, very flavorful with coconut milk, slight acidity from lime juice and a hint of fish sauce. I ordered Pad Thai with cilantro added as my entree. The tamarind sauce was not overwhelming and the noodles were nicely cooked. I also appreciated that it came with white rice which is abnormal for a noodle dish. All the all, a great Thai spot in Carpinteria with a lunch special that is worthwhile.”
“Really nice atmosphere inside and outside. Was able to make some dishes vegan I had the Primavera Rosa, no cream, subbed the fettuccine (has egg) for spaghetti, they said didn’t have egg. The dish was super saucy had a lot of vegetables delicious.Husband had the fettuccine Alfredo, and it was really creamy and flavorful .The owner came to chat with us and was nice. Said they’re going to later include on their menu what is clearly vegan or vegetarian. We’ll come back again to try another dish. Might try the vegan pizza next time. They had cocktails as well.Vegetarian options: Ask for options, likely has vegetarian options.Spaghetti doesn’t have egg”
“Great food but keep in mind that the avocado toast (specifically the gf one) is only one small slice and it’s extra $ to add on the good stuff. The yogurt/ gluten free granola parfait and oat milk lavender latte were both DELISH! We were told any bowls would take 20+ minutes to make which seems insane (coming from someone who used to work at a smoothie/breakfast/coffee shop we never had that kind of wait even when equally as busy). Luckily, it didn’t take 20 minutes for the parfait but just a heads up if you’re in need to a quick breakfast. You can tell it’s a beloved restaurant of the vacationers and locals and based on taste you can see why, but is still a bit pricey for what you get.Dietary restrictions: Gf bread and granola available”
“Very friendly and fast service. The ladies had a lot to do and were very quick and tried to get everything done.Delicious food. Only the smell and the furnishings take some getting used to.”
“I can't describe how much I love this place. It's so cute, the staff are SO kind, and the food is great. (I recommend the french dip!) If I could rate this 6 stars I would. If you are in Carp, definitely stop by, you'll thank me later.”
“Oysters on the half shell were delicious. Very fresh, light, and delicate. The cocktail sauce and horseradish were tasty. A vingarette was served as well. That went surprisingly well with the oysters. My daughter, who is not a fan of raw oysters, tried a couple and actually liked them. That's saying a lot. Definitely recommend the oysters. We had the Calamari. It was okay, not great. I had the wagyu beef sandwich without the jalapeño mayonnaise. The medium rare was cook was perfect. My daughter has the cod fish and chips. The fish was light with ample batter. The pineapple coleslaw was in interesting change from regular coleslaw, and not too sweet. We took flourless chocolate cake to go. When we did have it a few hours later, the cake had held up well. It was rich, moist, and had a smooth chocolate flavor. All-in-all, I would recommend Teddy's by the Sea.”
“Go here and get the eggplant sandwich, even if your aren't vegetarian and even if you are just visiting Santa Barbara, drive there and get it. Its that memorable.Took a while to arrive at the table but it was worth the wait due the care involved in making this masterpiece.Follow up edit one week later. We went back for the same eggplanty goodness and got the meatball sando too to split.Exceptional too.Its enough food for 3 or 4 people though.”
“For many years this has been our go-to spot when visiting Carpinteria.A bowl of hot Shrimp Tom Kha with rice is like a staple for the soul of our tastebuds and belly. Noodle dishes are always hot, fresh, and delicious. Back when my youngest was small she would order a chicken noodle dish and ask for all vegetables on the side and they'd do it perfectly every time. The staff here is quick, attentive, and always serving with a smile, which boggles my mind because kindness worn on the face can be a challenge, yet they do it. We have never ordered anything we would not return for, however do opt to try new things once in a while.”
“I love it when I show up that the love is shown and very welcoming. The vibe is very relaxing. The atmosphere is peaceful and friendly. No food sold here. But there is an empanada place closed on Sundays. I always like coming here. It keeps me coming back every time.”
“Get your beach vibe on at Padaro Grill! Stopped by for some delicious grilled red snapper tacos to enjoy out on their expensive outdoor lawn right here on the beach! Great place to soak up the sun while enjoying some really delicious food!”
“Do yourself a favor and take a cooking class ASAP with Heat Culinary! I have taken 2 now, Chinese food and Oaxacan, and they have been so informative, helpful, and, best of all, so much fun!! The cost for the classes is an absolute steal, considering you eat an amazing meal and take home tons of leftovers. It’s really a bonding experience to cook with people and enjoy it together at the end, strangers feel like friends quickly. The class offerings are diverse and unique, with lots of ethnic food options. Customer service is also amazing— I forgot the recipe print out and emailed them afterwards, around 10 p.m., and the owner, Chef Nikki, emailed me back almost immediately and not only sent me the recipe, but asked for input on upcoming classes. I’m grateful for Heat and plan on taking as many classes as I can.”
“Cool place with good live music on the day I visited. Service at the bar was very responsive. Had a flight of beers. All beers were really good! Also cool to see the Surfliner go by. Highly recommend this gem!”
“We are staying at Best Western, which is across the street from Clementines. We got in late and wanted something convenient for dinner. We were not expecting much given the location. It took us less than 5 minutes to walked over. We were greeted by a warm, cozy dining area. This family owned restaurant serves up a delicious set meal. Entrees come with freshly baked bread, salad, soup and dessert. Bread and split pea soup were made there, and it was so delicious. The soup was flavorful and creamy. Bread was served warm and moist. The salad was fresh and refreshing. We split a NY steak, and it was nicely seasoned and cooked to our specifications. Everything was just delicious. Even the potatoes on the side were so good. We asked for the recipe, and the waitress told us it was a family secret! Well, this spot is a gem, and if your in the area, give it a try!”
“The Food Liaison has some of the best burritos. Their daily edition is usually as unique as it is delicious. This is by far one of the best lunch spots in Carpinteria.”
“5 stars all the way. Place was packed on a Sat night. The ambiance and lighting was perfect. We each had two cocktails and got the rice balls, grilled artichoke, halibut piccata, brisket w/polenta, and the olive oil chocolate cake w/sweet cream gelato on the side for dessert. Spent 220 after tip. The olive branch and dos hombres cocktails were outstanding. And so was every dish. Finished every last bite. Can't wait to come back for happy hour.”
