“We were visiting Santa Barbara for three nights from San Jose and were honestly shocked when we came across this Indian restaurant with 4.9 stars on Google Maps. We decided to give it a shot with no expectations, and it turned out to be one of the most authentic and best Indian food experiences I have ever had in the United States. Hands down.

The first time, we tried the Tandoori Paneer Tikka and Malai Kofta, and both were extremely delicious. The garlic naan was so soft and fresh. They also gave us kheer as a complimentary dessert, which was such a kind gesture from Jogan and the entire staff.

The service was quick, and everyone was genuinely friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we couldn’t resist going back for a second time during our three night stay.

The second time, we tried Shahi Paneer, Yellow Dal Tadka with rice, and salted lassi. Once again, they surprised us with complimentary kheer. The Shahi Paneer was rich, creamy, and absolutely hit the spot. The naan was incredibly soft, and the Yellow Dal Tadka was probably my favorite. It was a much simpler preparation with just the right amount of spices, but the flavor was spot on.

The staff here is genuinely welcoming and friendly, and the food is clearly made with care. We would absolutely come back here the next time we are in Santa Barbara.

Parking is also very easy. There is a public parking lot right behind the restaurant and another one across the street. The City of Santa Barbara parking gives you the first 75 minutes free, and after that it is $3 per hour, which makes dining here even more convenient.

Highly, highly recommended. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back!”

“The pan-seared peppercorn-crusted filet mignon with potatoes au gratin and sautéed asparagus were as good as I've had anywhere. Thick, small and perfectly cooked medium-rare. And the thinly-sliced tomato salad was the perfect starter. We brought our own wine, but their in-house selection is outstanding. The staff were all extremely courteous and helpful. Our waiter, Dominic, was professional and attentive, and we never felt rushed. We enjoyed a two and a half hour anniversary dinner in a lovely outdoor setting and will definitely revisit when we're back in Santa Barbara! Thanks to everyone at Bouchon for a very special evening.”

“We made a weekend trip from Miami to Santa Barbara mostly just to visit Kin lol. I had seen them on socials and reddit and I'm a sucker for great food and an even better experience. Kin is such a special place. Yes, the line is long but it is oh so worth it. We literally visited every day, twice a day over the long weekend and tried almost every drink and baked treat on the menu LOL. Can't go wrong with anything. Everyday I had a new favorite, it's THAT GOOD. The coconut cloud matcha, and pandan matcha are the best I've ever had. The cookie butter cream top is also stellar. The donuts speak for themselves, but trust me, the flavors taste just as good as they sound reading them on a menu. So thankful we got to try Kin and thank you a million times over to the staff and the amazing owner. I don't know how they do it but they manage to still be warm and friendly even with how insanely busy they are non-stop. For anyone complaining about the lines or prices, this is prob not your vibe. Those of us who get it, 'get it.' I really hope to be able to come back and visit in the future. I wish sooooo much success for this team and hope Kin sticks around and expands (hopefully to Miami lol)”

I lived in India as an expat and grew up eating Indian food all over the US. This is special - complex flavors and some nice heat. We had the tandoori chicken, coconut curry with shrimp, eggplant curry, basmati rice and naan - even the naan was special! Yes, it is a bit pricier than the local Indian joint but well worth it!”

“If you’re craving authentic Italian pasta and wood-fired pizza, The Copper is a must-visit for your next downtown dining experience!

I started the evening with a glass of Italian red wine and an antipasti board featuring Gnocco Fritto (deliciously deep-fried pizza dough), creamy burrata, Parma prosciutto and arugula. I also enjoyed golden arancini filled with creamy risotto, sweet corn and Parmigiano, succulent shrimp with asparagus, and a refreshing Caprese.

I love truffle, so as soon as I seen the Truffle Burrata Pizza it was a yes for me. The pizza is topped with burrata, portobello mushrooms, truffle oil and arugula. I loved how the truffle oil was perfectly balanced without overpowering the other flavors!

For pasta the Tagliatelle Verdi Al Pesto is a must if you love pesto. The homemade tagliatelle with pesto, spinach and a creamy burrata sauce. Rich, flavorful and absolutely delicious! Honestly the best I’ve had in town.

Everything I tried was full of flavor, and the evening ambiance made the experience even more special. I loved dining outside, but the beautiful ambience inside is also pleasing. The Copper is located right in the heart of downtown State Street, and a lovely spot for an Italian dinner, whether it’s date night or a night out with friends.

Highly recommended you give them a try! The pizza remained delicious heated up the next day too. Looking forward to my next visit.”

“Ended up trying new coffee places both from carts/trailers while visiting the area! Zaca Coffee Trailer is a cute little trailer that's tucked in a parking lot in the Santa Barbara arts district. When we went, there was no actual parking in the lot itself as I think they leave it open for seating and other businesses which is smart since it's not a huge lot anyway. So you can park in the paid lots or just find street parking. I got a vanilla latte for my husband which I think was the llama latte and I got the honeysuckle iced coffee since I read that was good. At 10 am on a Tuesday, it wasn't crowded at all. The woman making my coffee was really nice and I enjoyed my coffee a lot! Will be back when I'm in the area.”

I’ve traveled to Thailand and have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants throughout LA and Orange County, so I have a pretty good frame of reference. The food here was excellent across the board. We ordered the Pad See Ew, Spicy Basil, Tom Yum Soup, Mango Sticky Rice, and Thai Tea. Every dish was packed with flavor and tasted fresh and authentic. The Thai tea was especially good because it wasn’t overly sweet, which is how I prefer it.

What stood out just as much as the food was the hospitality. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our server, April, was so sweet and took great care of us throughout the meal.

They were kind enough to comp the Thai tea after hearing my compliments, but honestly, I had already planned on leaving a review before they even brought it up. Great food and great service deserve recognition.

Also, sorry that the only picture I have is of the mango sticky rice. I was too busy enjoying the rest of the meal to stop and take photos, which probably tells you everything you need to know.

“I love a soft serve ice cream with a hard candy shell, and this old school joint served up some of the best. I absolutely adored the butterscotch, the coating was like a the best salty sweet flavor, and the soft serve was super creamy. Mom loved her cherry … sad it was hands down better than Dairy Queen. “We went to High Seas Mead to celebrate Bride Jamie Hay and it was the best Welcome Party we have ever attended. Loved the Passion Fruit and Prickly Pear Slushies‼️ We had the Single Fin Cider at dinner and it was fantastic. Great selection of mead and ciders, not a beer drinker so this was a great alternative drink. Loved the taste, service and casual atmosphere. Austin is great‼️”

“We tried this place for the first time while in town celebrating a birthday and the food did not disappoint. Everything was fresh, hot, and done super traditionally. We shared the focaccia, the suppli, and two pastas; one meat-based and one vegetarian. Bread was delicious but definitely could have used an accoutrement or dip included. Suppli and pastas were out of this world delicious. Service was outstanding and everyone we encountered at the restaurant from the hostess to the manager/owner was beyond friendly and helpful.

The menu is VERY small which is clearly intentional, but anyone looking for more robust protein options will be disappointed as the entree items max out at pasta. This is really clear from their website and posted menus so no sleight to the restaurant here.

The two big downsides were the ambient temperature of the restaurant and the seating options. It was VERY hot in the restaurant. The outside temp the night of our visit was around 85F and the indoor temperature must have been close to 80F. This made for a very warm and uncomfortable dining experience.
Lastly there aren’t a ton of full regular-height tables and we were seated at a high-top. Not our preference for sure. A large chunk of the restaurant is also dedicated to single-file bar seating positioned against the kitchen, but with a view of only a wall. We saw a couple groups of 4 get initially seated here and eventually moved throughout our meal. Kudos to the restaurant for maximizing the seating, but it does feel a bit cramped as a guest dining there.

Unfortunately even though the food and service were 10/10, I’m not sure we’d come back given the very limited menu and the restaurant layout.”
