I always thought fine dining vegetarian dishes would be just another standard vegetarian option, but the zucchini farro she had tonight was incredible. “We were visiting Santa Barbara for three nights from San Jose and were honestly shocked when we came across this Indian restaurant with 4.9 stars on Google Maps. We decided to give it a shot with no expectations, and it turned out to be one of the most authentic and best Indian food experiences I have ever had in the United States. Hands down.

The first time, we tried the Tandoori Paneer Tikka and Malai Kofta, and both were extremely delicious. The garlic naan was so soft and fresh. They also gave us kheer as a complimentary dessert, which was such a kind gesture from Jogan and the entire staff.

The service was quick, and everyone was genuinely friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we couldn’t resist going back for a second time during our three night stay.

The second time, we tried Shahi Paneer, Yellow Dal Tadka with rice, and salted lassi. Once again, they surprised us with complimentary kheer. The Shahi Paneer was rich, creamy, and absolutely hit the spot. The naan was incredibly soft, and the Yellow Dal Tadka was probably my favorite. It was a much simpler preparation with just the right amount of spices, but the flavor was spot on.

The staff here is genuinely welcoming and friendly, and the food is clearly made with care. We would absolutely come back here the next time we are in Santa Barbara.

Parking is also very easy. There is a public parking lot right behind the restaurant and another one across the street. The City of Santa Barbara parking gives you the first 75 minutes free, and after that it is $3 per hour, which makes dining here even more convenient.

Highly, highly recommended. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back!“

And the thinly-sliced tomato salad was the perfect starter. We brought our own wine, but their in-house selection is outstanding. The staff were all extremely courteous and helpful. Our waiter, Dominic, was professional and attentive, and we never felt rushed. We enjoyed a two and a half hour anniversary dinner in a lovely outdoor setting and will definitely revisit when we're back in Santa Barbara! “Brophy Bros. was an outstanding experience. I sat at the bar overlooking the harbor and met Michael, the bartender, who told me this has been his “office” for the past 27 years. And what an office it is. From my seat, I was looking out at boats docked in the harbor, the waterway, and the beautiful Santa Barbara mountains in the distance. I’ve traveled to many places around the world, and this is by far one of the best “offices” I’ve ever visited. Michael made the experience even better with great conversation and hospitality. I originally came hoping to try the clam chowder, but learned that it contains bacon, which I don’t eat, so I went with the fish and chips instead. They were very good.

Great food, a memorable bartender, and one incredible view. Brophy Bros. is definitely a place I’ll return to when I’m back in Santa Barbara and looking forward to seeing Michael in his office again“

“I’ll be honest. I could have eaten anything in Santa Barbara. I hadn’t eaten anything since 9am and it was 5pm when I arrived in Santa Barbara. I walked one mile away because of the great things I heard about Jill’s Place. And you know what? I was not disappointed! I was stoked and impressed greatly 🥰😁 I had two wonderful, dazzling, and sweet waitresses (lucky me!). I was served a yummy chicken breast sandwich and it was the best one I had ever! No seriously! It wasn’t too salty and the bread was golden brown and ready to be munched on. The tator tots had the perfect texture. It’s almost as I had food from some amazing restaurant, which, hello, I did 😅 The place was packed, since it was Fiesta, but I imagine it always is. It sucks I live 45 minutes from this great establishment. The atmosphere was fun and a little country, but I love that. It’s casual, and not some elegant place like Lucky’s is. I’d still show up in a suit, if I could and would. Definitely check this place out and ask for the two blonde sisters who work there. They’ll dazzle you with their charm and diction 😉 Hope to be back again one day!“
