“I am giving this place 5 stars for the EXCELLENT SERVICE - the server was awesome and so helpful and accommodating. We had a great experience here. My husband loved his entree- pork shank recommended by the server. HUGE and delicious with homemade tortillas - YUM. Everything was fresh and delicious for him. Fantastic Margarita - my favorite item here along with the salsas from the salsa bar. So my only wish is that there were more vegetarian options. The rice has chicken broth :( so I couldn't do my favorite rice and beans combo. That being said, they did have a nice veggie beans option. I would go back again for the great service, yummy margaritas and salsas either way.“
“Came for brunch in the hipster "funk zone" area, at the fairly well-known restaurant, The Lark, for my first time. Service was friendly and great, although our food came out a bit slower than expected. Still, the hostess, waitress and bussers were all informative, fun and kind. The food was fantastic! My spouse loved the shakshuka, as it was powerfully flavorful with cast iron to have that roasted touch. We could've done without the green olives in it, but more for personal taste. My chicken and waffles were also excellent. The waffles were surprisingly light and crispy, with some heavy honey butter to kick you in the mouth. Fried chicken was good. We enjoyed our mimosa flight- particularly with the sparkling wine/champagne served in a separate chilled container to dole out for the flavors (pomegranate, grapefruit, orange and cranberry, iirc). All the other sides like the oyster and hangover fries were well-suited to curb any remaining appetites. Love the decor too, particularly in the booths. Very charming, and classy, while still chill. Easy to find this restaurant nestled with other shops, pastries and coffee. Definitely would come again!“

Their campfire French toast with smoked maple sirup (only on weekends) is next level, their avocado toast with cucumber super tasty and the cinnamon roll the best I ever had! We came back three times to Santa Barbara during our road trip and part of that decision was also the amazing breakfast at Helena's Bakery.You order at the counter and then look for a seat, indoors or outdoors. “I’m from Philadelphia so I often seek out local Italian ice (“water ice”) spots to try. This was by far THE BEST I have found!!! I mixed the melon and watermelon. It's in a super lowkey spot & easy to miss as I almost missed it as we were riding by in our bikes. We got the 3 taco deal & they were all super good! “What a gem this place is! My wife and I rented out the greenhouse room for our wedding rehearsal dinner and everything was absolutely above and beyond our expectations. The ambiance is truly stunning, the abundance of natural light highlights all of the well balanced colors and tasteful decor. Our guest count was the maximum they allowed, which they set very aptly as we filled the room but at no point felt overly crammed. The hors d'oeuvres were spectacular and they never stopped coming throughout cocktail hour. The menu selections during the planning process were plentiful, and all sounded so delicious, and we were incredibly happy with our choices. The sea bass was delicate and delicious, while the NY strip steak was juicy, and cooked to perfection. The staff was genuine and friendly throughout the night, and the bartenders made excellent cocktails. This place was already special to us before, as it is where I took my wife to brunch before proposing on a beach walk afterwards, but it now holds a place in our hearts forever. “The kind of coffee shop I'd frequent regularly if I lived in the area. I appreciate how early they're open since I am an early riser and need coffee right away when I get up. The staff were friendly, the selection of pastries is excellent, the coffee tastes fantastic and the interior is cool. It's also large which makes me think even when it's busy, there should be seating for everyone. Though it wasn't crowded when I was in to order takeaway coffee.“

“Very good pizza. The beer was some of the best beer I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere is awesome.The only thing they need to do is make condiments available with the pizza. I had to go to the bar and request red peppers from the bartender who was nice enough to get it for me. The red peppers totally changed the taste of the pizza.“

“Jeannine's is one of our favorites when we visit cousins in Santa Barbara several times a year. The line, while off-putting at first, moves quickly and you've ordered and are seated soon enough to not make impatient kids crazy. We ordered the Challah French Toast breakfast with scramble eggs, Chilaquiles, Two Eggs over easy and a side of toast, and the oatmeal. All arrived well-presented and all reported as "super tasty." My only criticism is that, even though we were eating in and event though they thankfully provided cloth napkins, the coffee was in a paper cup and the water was in a plastic cup. Especially since you are situated right across the street from the beach, change to reusable cups and you will get 5 stars.“

So I would suggest to make sure you make your reservations and be prepared that if you are in the second seating to have little wait. But it's worth it! It's limited seating and the decor is trendy yet inviting. The bar is spacious and if a couple allows for dinner and drinks without feeling rushed or pressed. I did an off menu sampling of 8 courses. A bit insane but it was my birthday. Each was amazing but among the amazing I have a ranking. To enjoy the offerings I encourage you split the discuss to enjoy them w a friend(s). 1. Marrow toast. Astounding and unique. A must try 2. Beet and chèvre cheese cake. I was like omg why did you give me this ?? But then....it was like could I have another. All in. Must try. 3. Coq au vin. Who would have thought it would end up #3. Simple but just outstanding. 4. Ricotta gundi cavatelli. I the mushroom sauce. Just wow 5. An off menu salmon. Like butter. If they have it when you are there...it's definite. 6. Short rib. Another offf menu item. The issue is that the other items above it were so good it seemed unhonorable to rank it here but it's was only because of the other items being that "tasty" 7. “Even though I would've driven right place this place nestled in a semi-industrial feel location. Overall, this is exactly what I would expect of a wine tasting. Tasted 5 different wines from the reds and roses. Our server seemed very knowledgable about the different wines. I know nothing about wine and appreciated her suggestions and insight. While I was hopeful I'd be wrong, I knew the chardonnay was going to be my least favorite since I have yet to find one that I like... from any where.It was a super chill patio experience. Apparently this is a popular place for dog owners to hang out with thier pups. Inside was live music but everyone still hung out on the patio because of either the dogs or the weather.The cheese board was a nice compliment to the wine, the nuts and crackers were helpful after my 2nd wine. It would've been nice to have some additional options for those who can't do cheese or have nut allergies. Ended up purchasing some of my fav, the Sauvignon Blanc (2022) and can't wait to share it with friends!“

“One of my favorite Spanish restaurants! Second visit, about 5 years apart. We sampled a wide range of items and nearly all were excellent. Tomato bread, patata bravas, grilled octopus, and so many other dishes were really outstanding. The one issue for me was mainly a personal preference. The Tortilla Espanol was made to order and a mini version that was served hot, with a bunch of stuff on top. It was too loose and wet for my taste. Service was great as were the drinks. Noise is a bit loud, but not unusually so. Parking is easiest if you use the Amtrak lot across the street. The small lot attached to the restaurant offers valet, but is very crampt and a little crazy on the weekends.“
