Future Perfect Wine Winery •
2933 San Marcos Ave #101, Los Olivos

“Love the owner here. She is absolutely wonderful. She jumped through hoops for my parents to be able to send me wine in Delaware for my 21st birthday. Her prices are insane for the quality of her wines. She should be charging more but I'm praying she never does because it's accessible even for a broke college student like me. Her Sauvi B breakfast wine is out of this world as well as her Porch Pounder. The decoration of the tasting room is whimsical and welcoming and the glasses she serves wine in add to the experience.“

“Love this winery!! Was sad to see Ashley and David didn't greet us when I went to pick up my shipment because they are no longer there. They have always made our experience amazing with their fun/bubbly personalities and our favorite part...their personally picked out cheeses to do wine and cheese pairings!! But...one of my girlfriends recommended we try Refugio Ranch winery and ... guess who greeted us!! Ashley!!! still love artiste wine though!!“

tercero wines Winery • $$
2445 Alamo Pintado Ave Unit 105, Los Olivos

“They were closed, but the door was open. There were 5 people already tasting and it stayed that many visitors until I left an hour later. Owner and wine maker Larry Schaffer was there talking about his wine and educating the visitors. He has an amazing wealth of knowledge about the wine industry and he answers all the questions you can think of. I have known him for many years, and still learn something every visit. If the door is open, come in! Even if they are supposed to be closed. Thank you Larry!“

“I was lucky to get a spot here when it was completely empty! (They had just opened)All of the wines we tasted were fantastic. The tasting notes provided by the host were spot on. When you perfect something don't change anything. That is what this place has done. The seating area in the back was very cozy. It provided good shade during the sunny morning, but not so much shade it was hard to see (or cold). The only drawback to this place might be that it is not super accessible for handicap people as the back is gravel and the front is a staircase. That said, they may have other entrances that I did not see.“

Grimm's Bluff - Tasting Room Wine Bar •
2445 Alamo Pintado Ave #102, Los Olivos

“My husband and I stopped in on the recommendation of a Somm at Brave and Maiden. We were greeted by Brittany, who is super friendly and provided a great experience. Since we were there on a Monday it was quiet and we got some great individualized service. Brittany was wonderful, and the wine was to our liking - if you're a cab fan, their Estate cab is fantastic. The contago was also delicious and the Balance was simply incredible. Brittany was a great guide throughout out tasting and we enjoyed our time with her. Whenever we return to the area, Grimm's Bluff will definitely be on our list to revisit. Hats off to the wine makers!“

Carhartt Family Wines Wine Bar • $$
2939 Grand Ave, Los Olivos

“Carhartt Family Wines is about what they put in the name: "Family" and very good "Wines" that are a labor of love. I went up to the cabin a couple years back from a recommendation and absolutely loved it. I was not currently at a place to do a wine club membership, but Troy was great the entire time with fantastic hospitality and service. I have been following CFW over the years and feel like they are doing some very special things to try and revamp the industry to make wine attractive to younger crowds while maintaining traditional varietal wines that are awesome. The ambiance of the cabin is great for socialization, they usually have good food establishments right outside, and everyone just seems to enjoy working there. I would click the button on a membership if they had a beautiful vineyard for me to escape to each tasting to enjoy an escape from LA, but that could possibly be too good to be true. Great place, a must visit.“

Dreamcôte Wine Co. Winery • $$

“Dreamcote is a fun spot! It's VERY small, so definitely make a reservation before you go. We had 6 people and were sat outside on the patio. There was only one woman working when I went and she was very busy and a little flustered, but was still kind and helpful. She said they were only offering glasses and bottles, which was a bummer since they have so many cool wines and we didn't really know what to try or what they were known for. We ended up with a bottle of their lovely Pinot noir and really enjoyed it! The bottles are very festive and cute, just like the space.“

Demetria Estate & Vineyards Wineries • $$
6701 Foxen Canyon Rd, Los Olivos

“This was our first time going wine tasting in Los Olivos, and Demetria Estate came highly recommended. It is absolutely beautiful here, and the perfect place for a relaxing wine tasting! You get to sit outside, and you have a magnificent view of the estate grounds. Delicious wine, fresh air, and lovely surroundings - what could be better? They also allow you to bring in outside food, so you can bring in your own snacks or meal to enjoy while drinking your wine. It was super busy when we were there, and they only had one person working. Definitely could've used more staff, but he made it work and was still super friendly while doing it. The wine here was excellent. Really enjoyed the Syrah. Definitely recommend making reservations, especially if you have a larger party. The last 2 miles to the winery is essentially a one-car road that goes both ways, so just make sure you drive carefully. A great choice for a highly-enjoyable wine tasting.“

Strange Family Vineyards Tasting Room Wine Bar • $$

“We gave this place a try during our day in Malibu and it was a good quick stop. I absolutely loved the location - whoever did the interior design have a really similar taste to mine! The wines were nothing too special but decent for the pricing ($35 for a tasting of 4 wines). It would've been nice if they had other snack options that complimented the drinking. (They had truffle chips or popcorn). I would def stop by again for a glass during a shopping day if I'm in the area.“

“Wonderful experience at the 2024 release party. The food was wonderful (catered by First & Oak kitchen food truck). There was an Inspiration white and Rośe tasting bar, a Syrah tasting bar, and a Revolution red tasting bar. The servers and wine tenders were friendly, and everyone was very joyous. We lucked out with perfect weather and delicious wines. The 2022 Grenache Rośe was my personal favorite. Delicate, flavorful, and perfect for a sunny day. The live music was also very enjoyable! I highly recommend this testing room based on the quality of the wine, the gorgeous setting, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly service.“

Zaca Mesa Winery Winery •
6905 Foxen Canyon Rd, Los Olivos

“My girlfriend and I recently enjoyed one of our best wine-tasting experiences at Zaca Mesa Winery. We were celebrating our 3-year anniversary and wanted to experience the best wineries in the Santa Barbara County area. The customer service at Zaca Mesa was top notch, the ambience was warm and relaxing, and the wine was amazing. While all of the wines we tasted were delicious (in particular their Syrahs, which is what put them on the map) , our favorite was their 2019 Repose – a great blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot (we liked it so much, we took a nice bottle to continue celebrating back home!).Having gone to Napa and Temecula numerous times, I can say that our experience at Zaca Mesa was one of our favorites. Not surprisingly, Zaca has been one of the best wineries in the Santa Barbara County for decades (it’s celebrating its 50th anniversary this year!). It’s easy to see why. We’ll definitely be returning soon to experience more of their tasty Rhône-style wines and amazing ambience.“

“We’ve been going to this winery for years and we still love it. First, Dan is the MAN when it comes to everything wine. He has extensive knowledge of wines as well as a variety of other topics. We think he was a comedian in his first life—-always makes us laugh ?. This is a very laid back place with beautiful grounds around it. The only suggestion we have would be to spruce up/update the tasting room. Even just a fresh coat of paint would be nice.☺️“

From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by the beauty of the surroundings, setting the stage for an unforgettable wine tasting experience. The outdoor seating area offers panoramic views of the vineyards, providing the perfect backdrop for savoring a glass of wine on a sunny day. Meanwhile, the cozy indoor tasting room exudes warmth and hospitality, inviting guests to relax and enjoy the company of friends and loved ones. But it's not just the ambiance that makes Beckmen Winery stand out—it's the exceptional wines they offer. During our visit, we had the pleasure of sampling a variety of their offerings, and each one surpassed our expectations. However, two wines truly stole the show: the 2022 Purisima Mountain Vineyard Viognier and the 2021 Santa Ynez Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines were a testament to the skill and dedication of the winemakers, showcasing the unique terroir of the region. Our tasting experience was made even more memorable thanks to our bartender, Carols. His charisma, extensive knowledge, and genuine passion for wine elevated our visit to Beckmen Winery to new heights. His attentive service and personalized recommendations truly made us feel like valued guests.During our time at the winery, we were fortunate enough to witness the beauty of the grounds in various weather conditions, from the tranquility of a clear day to the ethereal atmosphere of a light rain shower. And to top it all off, we were greeted by a sweet little kitty who added an extra touch of charm to our visit. In conclusion, Beckmen Winery exceeded all of our expectations, and we can't wait to return. From the breathtaking views to the exceptional wines and outstanding service, this is a destination that we wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable wine tasting experience.“

We prefer to sit by the bar though. The staff is friendly, attentive and very welcoming. The indoor cafe has a cozy but lively vibe. We ordered their beer on tap, Liquid Gravity Brewing Co.- Orange Cream Machine and BarrelHouse West Coast IPA , both outstanding! Also had their Ahi Tostada with avocado and wasabi hash, definitely a shareable plate, really fresh and is a new favorite! Also one of our go to orders, is their focaccia and dipping oil, still as good and haven't changed through the years! Make sure to stop by this place! There are newer places that have opened up around the corner but the Los Olivos Wine Merchant and Cafe is still the best! And by the way did I mention they have an awesome selection of wines? “Very dog friendly winery. It felt bigger than a lot of the wineries we passed by. It was also a lot more crowded. Decent amount of parking, and they had a pizza truck the day we were here (which we did not try). We kept getting harassed by yellow jackets, which was surprising since it's the dead of winter, but they mostly left us alone. They were very friendly here.“

Yogurt parfait was tasty and a great yogurt/granola/fruit ratio. We had orange juice which was quite refreshing! Wish I took a pic of the food but we ate it way too fast... that's a good thing right?!? I think that should tell you more than a pic would anyways Service: we had great service! Everyone was friendly and helpful... even on New Year's Day morning! Ambiance: quaint, calm and plenty of seating. We sat outside with our pup and it was a very pleasant breakfast. Misc.: Had the pleasure of meeting the owner today and he was incredibly charming, kind and engaging. He greeted us when he pulled up and wished us well when we left. He also took the time to chat a bit about where we were visiting from and his life in Ojai. Lovely man and overall a very lovely cafe and a great start to the new year!“
