“A must see in Los Olivos. What a nice experience with the beautiful art labels and delicious wines. Such a nice variety of quality wines. My wife and I loved it. we will be back with friends for a group tasting and painting.”
“A tastefully designed tasting room hosts an array of unique local wines, each possessing its own charm and character, creating an inviting and enjoyable experience.”
“Fantastic wines for an incredibly affordable price. These wines beat out wines twice their price easily. The space is cozy and there's quite a bit of outdoor seating compared to indoor seating. You just can't ask for better wine to price ratio. The wines are just phenomenal from white to red.”
“Absolutely an amazing experience! My wife, sister and brother in laws and i had an amazing morning at your location with Dave. Dave is super knowledgeable, friendly and funny as hell. Great job Dave. Best pinot noir i/we have ever had. Rosee was outstanding as well. Super impressed. Highly recommend.”
“I was lucky to get a spot here when it was completely empty! (They had just opened)All of the wines we tasted were fantastic. The tasting notes provided by the host were spot on. When you perfect something don't change anything. That is what this place has done. The seating area in the back was very cozy. It provided good shade during the sunny morning, but not so much shade it was hard to see (or cold). The only drawback to this place might be that it is not super accessible for handicap people as the back is gravel and the front is a staircase. That said, they may have other entrances that I did not see.”
“My husband and I stopped in on the recommendation of a Somm at Brave and Maiden. We were greeted by Brittany, who is super friendly and provided a great experience. Since we were there on a Monday it was quiet and we got some great individualized service. Brittany was wonderful, and the wine was to our liking - if you're a cab fan, their Estate cab is fantastic. The contago was also delicious and the Balance was simply incredible. Brittany was a great guide throughout out tasting and we enjoyed our time with her. Whenever we return to the area, Grimm's Bluff will definitely be on our list to revisit. Hats off to the wine makers!”
“loved our time here, we joined after a beautiful tasting of unique and delicious wines!! the atmosphere is mod yet cozy, with cushy blankets and great, prompt service. we learned a lot about Andrew and his love of wines, thanks to the amazing woman who helped us out and told us all about AMV. we are thrilled to be members now and visit when we come to town (up from San Diego). they have very affordable pricing and the comp tastings with a membership can’t be beat! we’re excited to have taken home some E11EVEN wines as well, yum! a great variety here, and for the right price. we are so glad to have made the trip over here while staying in Solvang, at our hotels recommendation. what a beautiful spot, we look forward to being back soon!! thank you thank you, would recommend to anyone staying in the area. Roasted Slope & Petit Verdot were my personal fave, and s/o to Enchanté which surprised & delighted, turning us into white wine drinkers this visit!! cheers!”
“Incredible experience, very friendly and DELICIOUS wines. I love a bold red, but even their "mid" reds are INCREDIBLE. Some of the best reds I've ever had, and I've been to A LOT of wineries lol”
“So I have to agree with Pris P review when it comes to the checking in process and how reservations and seating non reservation guests are handled BUT then there is Emi. If you are fortunate enough to have Emi as your server you will not only have the best service of your life but a lesson on what true hospitality is all about. She has great knowledge of the product and knows how to handle multi groups and yet make you feel like your the only one there. As far as the bubbles our favorite is the sibling bubblery. Sparkling granache you say. YES! Give it try. We love it and cross your fingers your lucky enough to get Emi as your server.”
“An unplanned diversion to our travel schedule had us stopping in Los Olivos. A nice walk around the small downtown and we were ready for lunch with a glass of wine. Settled on the Wine Merchant and Cafe and couldn’t be happier. My wife is gluten free with the menu having numerous options to many dishes. She chose a sandwich with one of the best buns she has ever had since restricting gluten from her diet. The bun was made in house. They also do French fries in seperate oil. Was she delighted to be able to chose among the plenty options. Their wines by the glass did not follow the standard selections seen in most places but had many hidden gems that we didn’t expect. The two we tried we ended up buying bottlesTo take with us.You can’t go wrong here. A great establishment that does not disappoint.”
“This was our first time going wine tasting in Los Olivos, and Demetria Estate came highly recommended. It is absolutely beautiful here, and the perfect place for a relaxing wine tasting! You get to sit outside, and you have a magnificent view of the estate grounds. Delicious wine, fresh air, and lovely surroundings - what could be better? They also allow you to bring in outside food, so you can bring in your own snacks or meal to enjoy while drinking your wine. It was super busy when we were there, and they only had one person working. Definitely could've used more staff, but he made it work and was still super friendly while doing it. The wine here was excellent. Really enjoyed the Syrah. Definitely recommend making reservations, especially if you have a larger party. The last 2 miles to the winery is essentially a one-car road that goes both ways, so just make sure you drive carefully. A great choice for a highly-enjoyable wine tasting.”
“We took another couple to Nella and enjoyed lunch on the patio. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Pisa (their version of Pizza) was exceptional. We had a variety of foods, couple of appetizers and entrees. Fun to share the flavors. We will return.”
“My wife and enjoy the Happy Hour here (4-5:30) every time we’re in the area. Superb, attentive and very friendly staff. We always get the 1/2 off Cremant bubbly. The oysters, yellowtail crudo, bocarones and fries are our favorites. We joked with the staff that they should be Michelin Rated and apparently they are on their way!”
