“This wonderful restaurant is hiding just off the main street in Solvang. Take a few steps away from the tourist traps and step into some world class cuisine.Kid-friendliness: Too many nice restaurants lack a kids menu, they have good options for kids.“
“Jason was an amazing host. Generous with his wine selection. The wines were great and the music playlist helped us enjoy our time. Great conversations and the food was delicious. It’s a very well rounded place, we felt welcomed and we will definitely be back.“
“We stopped by Crawford Family Wines after spotting it as we were walking around the area and boy am I glad that we did! The wine and service here were wonderful! We both tried the mixed flight and while every wine was delicious, the Syrah was my personal favorite! Paul was so friendly and knowledgeable as we made our way through the wine flight. The shop was empty when we entered and he did get quite busy as time went by but he was still able to manage getting us each wine at a great pace! The shop is really cute, with a shared art space so you can gaze on fun prints and pieces as you sip on your wine. We walked away with two bottles, the Viognier and Deux Syrah. If we lived closer, we would definitely visit often but I highly recommend a visit here!“
“We had a great time and I’m glad my first time wine tasting was here at McClain Clellars. This was my girlfriend and I’s first time wine tasting and thank goodness we had Elizabeth help us throughout. She taught us some wine basics and was patient with us as we asked questions. We’ll definitely be coming back here in the future.“
“I am a regular at this coffee shop every time I’m in Solvang or passing through. This visit my wife got a hot chocolate alongside my usual mocha. Surprisingly I found myself enjoying her hot chocolate even more than my mocha which says a lot about the quality of both drinks! They also offer a few vegan bakery items. We tried the chocolate chip bread which was great – not overly sweet just how we like it. The prices are slightly higher compared to big chain coffee shops with the mocha at ~$6 and both the hot chocolate and cookie at ~$5 each but I am big supporter of independent coffee places and this one has definitely earned our loyalty. They’ve secured a lifelong customer in us“
“This place is magical - if you like fresh spices and specialty teas. It is really extraordinary. The scent in the store alone is worth wandering in. I have been twice - the first purchase were so good (and sizeable) I decided that I would start trading in most of my spices out for these over time. I don't think you can go wrong with these. Just a phenomenal find.“
“Great service and wine. Highly recommended. Thorn poured for us and he was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Coming into the tasting room, we were greeted and welcomed in. We truly felt like our patronage was appreciated. It was a little busy when we came in, but I feel like Thorn and Nancy made an effort to spend time with us and all the other customers. They appear to really love what they do. The importance of family is evident when you get to know the wine and labels. A sweet and heartwarming thing.Came in for a tasting and left with a few bottles. Delicious wine and a BIG selection.“
“We had a wonderful relaxing 2 for 1 winetasting experience. The wines were good, the cheese plate was EXCELLENT, the spinach and cheese croissant was EXCELLENT, and Anna was very nice with good service. We came to Arrowsmith at the recommendation of the front desk of our hotel. It was only a five minute walk so we headed over around 4 PM on a Saturday of a three-day weekend. The decor is very nice, sort of roaring 20s French art. Nice tables, nice seating areas with leather chairs, nice bar. We had a 2 for 1 wine tasting special, a croissant and the cheeseboard. Our bill was around $66 and change and would've been in the $90s without the special. It was a good bargain and we still would've been happy at full price. We didn't wind up buying any of the wines to go, but we would definitely come here again and maybe stay later for the live music. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 :-)“
“BEST KEPT SECRET in the Santa Ynez Valley! Literally the VERY BEST baked goods I've ever had in my life! Great prices. Unique, sweet location and just downright AMAZING! People say "awesome" too often where it isn't necessarily true. At Holy Grounds, you're going to find the most "AWESOME" fresh baked pastries you've EVER had, and that's a fact!!! Unbelievable GEM!!!!“
“We had been seated for not even 10 minutes when our food arrived (party of four). We were all pleasantly surprised at the fast service and really enjoyed the quality of food. The veggie eggs benedict, huevos rancheros, and hot chocolate were the standout items from what we ordered.“
“I've never been anywhere like Cali Love before! Such fun vibes with pink all over (love it) and a unique tasting menu with two bubblies and a few other sparkling wines that aren't on the menu. They stay open until 10pm and have karaoke some nights. You can decorate a guitar pick to add to the wall. The server was very friendly and let us try a couple things that weren't in the menu. And they're dog friendly!“
“This place was nice, service was good and seating is right along the Main Street so great for people watching, and fire pits provided as well. The cheese board they provided was probably one of my favorites. Personally I thought the wine was ok but didn't really stand out to me, but everyone has different tastes. Overall, a good place to stop by and enjoy the atmosphere“
“Love the wine tasting there. The worker knows her stuff about feliz noche wine. We didn't feel rush like in some other winery's which I liked. The ambiance was good. Music was on point. I will be going back and buying a bottle or two.“

“My husband and I go to Nashville annually, and we've gone to Kentucky specifically for the KY BBQ. We have also gone to North Carolina to have some Carolina BBQ. We both can say without hesitation, that this place has the best BBQ we have ever had. The ribs fell off the bone and the brisket was juicy and cooked to perfection. And the corn bread that is served warm... to die for. Prices were reasonable the drinks were great and the patio itself was adorable. 5 out of 5.“
“This is our second visit to L&L Vineyard. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We did a couple of tasting flights. My favorite remains to be the cabernet franc but the Syrah and petit Syrah was also good. Also tried the port with chocolate and wow that was new and fun. Nice little place with wine barrels for tables. Not too many seats and a little area for wine club members. Go and enjoy. They also offer a cheese platter to enjoy with your wine that looked good.“
“Couldn't decide on which one to try so I did 3! I got the classic bratwurst, jalapeño cheddar bacon and the rod polse. Buns cost an extra $1 each i believe but i didn't get any cause i didn't want to be too full. My favorite was the rod polse and it tasted so good dipped in the honey mustard. There's a variety of sauces and sides you can pick up yourself after placing your order. It was picnic tables set up style outside, nice on a warm day, but cold on a windy day.“
“Had a chance to swing by Silk Road's Kitchen when my family and I were visiting Solvang. We originally were going to go to Whiskey N Rye because the restaurant looked 75% empty yet they told us it was fully booked for some reason... Regardless we're happy that was the result because Silk Road's Kitchen was delicious. We were seated in their outdoor area and the entrees were made to perfection. Definitely one of the top gyro wraps that I've had! If you're in the area definitely stop by and check it out.“
“Amber has a great establishment, with everything one would want from a coffee house; tasty and fresh things to eat and drink, cozy feels, and welcoming. Thanks for making our weekly visits one I love telling others about. You do a great job!“
“The perfect place for a friday afternoon day date. This place is so sophisticated and cute! The Encantada pinot noir and the Syrah were amazing! Devyn took great care of us, she was very knowledgeable and personable. We can’t wait to come back!“
“My wife and I came here and had our first time tasting at this location and our experience was incredible. The knowledge that our host Tony had was awesome and fun and the wines are great I would highly recommend visiting this wine tasting room“
“Staff here were awesome and very cool. I enjoyed the ambiance here and will absolutely love to come back when I'm in the area. A huge bonus is they are the only place to carry my favorite beer within a 60 mi radius. Great selection of alcohol here for sure!“
“Enjoyed a half salad and half sandwich in this quaint little spot for lunch. The Cobb salad was fresh and a tasty twist on the original, using prosciutto and Stilton Blue Cheese. The Cotswold Cheddar Cheese sandwich paired nicely with the salad. I was able to wash it all down with a Carlsberg lager - my nod to the Danish heritage the town seeks to preserve. The servers were friendly and thoughtful. The food enjoyed by the rest of my party was equally delicious. I don't think you can go wrong when using such fresh ingredients.“
“The food was excellent! The service was perfect. The atmosphere was very enjoyable. The after dinner margaritas were exceptional. We came to Solvang as a four day three night vacation. The restaurant was suggested by our daughter and it was a perfect fit for our trip. I would recommend this restaurant to any and all who stop in Solvang. Thank you Joe and Steve for all you do to make the experience so enjoyable.“
“Me my mom and my sister came up to solvang for work purposes but wanted to make the most of it because it was a long drive from the I.E.. We found this place and it looks like a whole in the wall but honestly was pretty decent. They have a lot for room. The food was AMAZING. We got the ranchero burger, a Cobb salad, and the ravioli with all 3 sauce choices and just decide to share amongst the 3 of us. It was so good the flavor and everything was so good. But let's talk about the service. Our server very much gave off the vibes like head rushing to order he came by probably about 3 times in like 8 minutes and we were trying to decide what to eat. Next there must have been a server off the clock eating at the restaurant before her shift, I have nothing against as I used to work at a restaurant and did that because it was convenient for me, but she was not only distracting servers from their tables but openly feeding her friends while they were working and it was obvious that their tables needed to be served but they didn't care. It wasn't until the manager walked out and said something did they finally get to work in which the employee who came to eat went behind the counter to clock in. The host were amazing and super nice. Over all it was really good and amazing and we would come here again“
“This place is worth the hype and worth the wait. Some of the best waffles I've ever had. Look, the waffles and strawberries made such a purely sweet combo alone that I didn't need the whip cream or syrup at all. The waffle itself is super moist and soft. No complaints at all, would come back if I ever was in town.“
“This was our second wine tasting of the day and I was very interested to try their sweet fruit wines. We were seated at the bar area right away. They were pretty busy and have limited seating so I was happy to get seated so quickly in a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the fruit wine flight and my husband did the roblar flight. We both took sips from each others' and enjoyed the difference in sweet and traditional wine. Our server was super nice and gave us a detailed description with each different pour. The ambiance was not as nice as the other winery we had just visited but it was to be expected since Royal Oaks is located in the busy town center of Solvang. They were however decorated nicely for Christmas of course! My favorites were the Cherry Amour and Elderberry so I took some bottles home with me. I would come back again to see what other seasonal fruit wines they have later on!“
“We stopped in here three times during our stay in Solvang. The first was for lunch - we had the Caprese Panini and Arugula Salad. The second time was to pick up a salad for a picnic. On our last visit, we bought French chocolates made by French chocolatier Jean-Michele Carré. Everything was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the service was great.“
“It's never been my plan to get ramen in Solvang, but I went there by pure fortune and I don't regret it, their shoyu ramen is delicious, the broth is full of flavor and light while rich, the noodles are good too. Their karaage doesnt have too much crust so it's just the right amount and the Chicken is really juicy and too fat. Their spicy tuna handrolls are also delicious. Finally they have a good Japanese beer selection (I'm fond of hitachino red). Definitely a must stop if you had enough of sausages and the regular stuff.“
“Wine: 4 stars Ambiance: 4.5 Stars Service: 3 Stars Wine: We enjoyed the wines here. I liked having the carafes on hand so we could pour at our own pace. I normally gravitate towards Pinot Noirs, but we ended up purchasing a 2017 Zinfandel which was a surprise hit. Ambiance: Loved the deck and patio area. The seating areas overlooking the vineyard are so peaceful and each are set far enough a part that you don't feel crowded. It was even more magical when the overhead string lights popped on as the sun was setting. I only wished there was a little more table space for wine, water, tasting carafes and food - but I'll take the blame for that since we picked our own table out. Service: We did not feel super welcome upon arrival. We were told we were the last reservation for the day (and we were right on time), but made to feel like that was an inconvenience somehow? We were told we could sit anywhere, but our server appeared exasperated when we took a moment to decide whether we wanted to be on the deck or patio area. I chalked it up to it just being a long busy day, but things did not get better. After being seated, it took a very long time for our server to return. Once our flight of wine was finally delivered, she began to walk away, before catching herself, realizing she didn't even give us any context or background on the wines or the winery. And even so, she really gave us the bare minimum. It was a bummer being in such a lovely setting, and not having the service match.“
“AMAZING, epic service! Absolutely awesome joint! You gotta check it out if you stop in solvang! Amazing ambiance, very on point tiki bar! The drinks were perfect. The music was rad. Tyler was phenomenal!!!! Everything about this place is genuine! Check it out!“
“We played bocce tonight and then went for dinner and drinks in the restaurant. It was a gorgeous night and the patio was very busy! We had a large group which I understand can be more difficult. Eric was AMAZING in getting us sat. He was running all over the place wearing many hats. With how busy he was, he still made us feel seen. He took our order and brought as chips, salsa, fries, and onion rings as an apology. He worked his butt off tonight and it was very apparent how passionate he is about his job and how much he cares about the guest experience. Overall, although we had to wait a bit longer than we would have liked, he personally, along with the rest of the very friendly staff, made sure that we were satisfied and had a fantastic evening!“
“Our visit to the Old Danish Fudge Kitchen in Solvang was delightful. With an array of tempting flavors, we indulged in the dark chocolate walnut and chocolate raspberry fudges, and they did not disappoint. The dark chocolate walnut fudge was a bold experience, offering a richness that was both satisfying and deeply enjoyable. Each bite was a testament to the craftsmanship and quality ingredients used in its creation. Equally impressive was the chocolate raspberry fudge, which burst with flavor and had just the right balance of sweetness and tartness. It was a harmonious blend that left us craving more with every bite. We found the fudge portions to be generously sized. In summary, our experience at the Old Danish Fudge Kitchen was nothing short of delightful. If you find yourself in Solvang craving something sweet, be sure to pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed.“
“Olsen's Danish Village Bakery is always crowded and busy. It's more traditional over there. Olsen's displays and choices are excellent. The popular Solvang Bakery down a few doors is always where tourists take lots of photos of the interior. It's their Easter egg colors which attracts many moms and children. Birkholm's Solvang Danish Bakery has lesser foot traffic and it's not all fancy , but it certainly has everything you want like the rest of them. It has more spaces to walk around inside. You can actually sit inside to enjoy your goodies. I always buy Danish butter cookies to take home prior to departing. All of them are very good bakeries worth checking out and buying delicious goodies from. For around $20 a bin or buy 3 for much under $60, it's really not too bad at Birkholm's. They all have similar offerings and delicious selections, more or less. Macarons, marzipans, candies, puffy tarts, danishes filled with fruit jams, cookies, etc. Order a beverage or two. It really depends on the type of customer you are and if you're buying items to go or just enjoying them inside the bakeries. I absolutely love butter cookies from Solvang. They are made fresh and each bakery is unique in their own ingredients and baking methods. Creative pastry stops. You can always share with families and friends. Definitely grab some goodies before hitting the roads again.“
“We absolutely LOVE Mortensen's Bakery. They've been a part of our family traditions my entire life. I've tried many Danish baked goods through my 48 years and nothing comes close to Mortensen's quality and taste. The staff is SO Kind, patient and accommodating. We met the owner this morning and I was absolutely delighted to chat with her. What a wonderful person. If you have the privilege to come to Mortensen's- try everything and enjoy every bite.“
“I came here for the chicken pot pie and it didn't disappoint. That along with the Poutine and guacamole bacon burger were all delicious. It was a raining day and the restaurant is welcoming and cozy. The absolute best thing about the experience was the staff. Mikala was AMAZING. As the rain came down more, more people started to come in and all areas of the restaurant had people in them and she never missed a beat. She was alone in the front and there was the cook in the back and together they helped everyone in a timely manner. I was impressed by her calm demeanor and ability to attend to everyone and get the food out and refill drinks. bus tables and still smile the whole time. As busy as it was there was no pressure feeling or rush to leave. I will for sure visit again the next time we are in town.“
“We have tried Paula's and we have tried Brekkies, so we decided to try this cafe. We were lucky in terms of there were 11 of us and they were able to place us at 3 tables next to each other. Food items were similar to other breakfast restaurants. Coffee was okay. But the wait staff was pretty good. All in all we enjoyed our breakfast and may eat there again.“
“I ate onion soup, hot wings, and a burger? The onion soup was a bit salty and the hot wings had a hot sauce flavor base, so I think there will be some opinions. The burger was delicious ?The atmosphere was nice as we ate outside while the sun was shining before sunset.?The servers are also friendly haha.“
“This 5 star rating is purely nostalgia for me. Growing up in the valley and then working here when I was 17/ 18. After camping at Lake Cachuma with my kids my brother, nephew and niece, we decided to go get some food in solvang and I could not imagine going anywhere else to bring back old memories.“
“We decided to stop at Café Dolce on a Tuesday afternoon because it was one of the few places open and were pleasantly surprised. They have a variety of sandwiches, salads and soups, and the breakfast menu looked pretty good too. The sandwiches are a perfect size to eat with lots of great ingredients but not too full, which sometimes I feel like Panino (their neighbors) sandwiches are so packed they're difficult to eat, especially when wine tasting. There's a few covered tables outside (dog friendly) and some booths inside, with lots of fun pictures to look at of famous people who have visited. There's an assortment of baklava behind the counter and to top it off they serve McConnell's ice cream which you can't pass up on!“
“Delicious is understatement. If you are a pizza and pasta lover this is a must. My husband and I ate here on a Saturday night. The service was fast and our food was fresh. I ordered a margarita pizza and my husband ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta. You can taste the authenticity from the pizza dough to the pasta noodles. **Chefs kiss** Our waitress was nice & told me everything is made from scratch in house by the chef. We will definitely come back whenever we're in town to try the rest of the menu!“
“Delicious appetizers, cold beers, and amazing people. This is by far one of my favorite Solvang spots. I love the delicately pan seared salmon. The inviting and relaxed ambiance complimented by the friendly and courteous staff completes the experiences. Also Six stars, five on yelp, and one in my heart.“
“My husband and I had our anniversary party there last week. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The manager, Matt P was gracious and easy to work with, the servers were friendly and attentive, the chef was amazing. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was. Thank you all!“
