“Cute bakery and the name says it all! So many Danish baked goods sold here among the more familiar fair. They also had spectacular cookie houses. I'd call them gingerbread houses but not sure if they're all made out of gingerbread. It's a tiny bakery and a tight squeeze making your way through but manageable and worth it. They also have gifts and trinkets. Staff is sweet and helpful. Would definitely recommend.“
“Cute danish bakery with tons of pastry options. The workers were very friendly! I ordered a cinnamon crisp and didn’t love how dry it was. I’m sure their other pastries were better. Worth stopping in and enjoying a pastry at their outdoor seating!“
“It's never been my plan to get ramen in Solvang, but I went there by pure fortune and I don't regret it, their shoyu ramen is delicious, the broth is full of flavor and light while rich, the noodles are good too. Their karaage doesnt have too much crust so it's just the right amount and the Chicken is really juicy and too fat. Their spicy tuna handrolls are also delicious. Finally they have a good Japanese beer selection (I'm fond of hitachino red). Definitely a must stop if you had enough of sausages and the regular stuff.“
“Olsen's Danish Village Bakery is always crowded and busy. It's more traditional over there. Olsen's displays and choices are excellent. The popular Solvang Bakery down a few doors is always where tourists take lots of photos of the interior. It's their Easter egg colors which attracts many moms and children. Birkholm's Solvang Danish Bakery has lesser foot traffic and it's not all fancy , but it certainly has everything you want like the rest of them. It has more spaces to walk around inside. You can actually sit inside to enjoy your goodies. I always buy Danish butter cookies to take home prior to departing. All of them are very good bakeries worth checking out and buying delicious goodies from. For around $20 a bin or buy 3 for much under $60, it's really not too bad at Birkholm's. They all have similar offerings and delicious selections, more or less. Macarons, marzipans, candies, puffy tarts, danishes filled with fruit jams, cookies, etc. Order a beverage or two. It really depends on the type of customer you are and if you're buying items to go or just enjoying them inside the bakeries. I absolutely love butter cookies from Solvang. They are made fresh and each bakery is unique in their own ingredients and baking methods. Creative pastry stops. You can always share with families and friends. Definitely grab some goodies before hitting the roads again.“
“Our visit to the Old Danish Fudge Kitchen in Solvang was delightful. With an array of tempting flavors, we indulged in the dark chocolate walnut and chocolate raspberry fudges, and they did not disappoint. The dark chocolate walnut fudge was a bold experience, offering a richness that was both satisfying and deeply enjoyable. Each bite was a testament to the craftsmanship and quality ingredients used in its creation. Equally impressive was the chocolate raspberry fudge, which burst with flavor and had just the right balance of sweetness and tartness. It was a harmonious blend that left us craving more with every bite. We found the fudge portions to be generously sized. In summary, our experience at the Old Danish Fudge Kitchen was nothing short of delightful. If you find yourself in Solvang craving something sweet, be sure to pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed.“
“We absolutely LOVE Mortensen's Bakery. They've been a part of our family traditions my entire life. I've tried many Danish baked goods through my 48 years and nothing comes close to Mortensen's quality and taste. The staff is SO Kind, patient and accommodating. We met the owner this morning and I was absolutely delighted to chat with her. What a wonderful person. If you have the privilege to come to Mortensen's- try everything and enjoy every bite.“
“I came here for the chicken pot pie and it didn't disappoint. That along with the Poutine and guacamole bacon burger were all delicious. It was a raining day and the restaurant is welcoming and cozy. The absolute best thing about the experience was the staff. Mikala was AMAZING. As the rain came down more, more people started to come in and all areas of the restaurant had people in them and she never missed a beat. She was alone in the front and there was the cook in the back and together they helped everyone in a timely manner. I was impressed by her calm demeanor and ability to attend to everyone and get the food out and refill drinks. bus tables and still smile the whole time. As busy as it was there was no pressure feeling or rush to leave. I will for sure visit again the next time we are in town.“
“First time coming here. Got their Princess cake and it was tasty and flavorful. It was white cake with raspberry filling and cream and wrapped in marzipan frosting. Very airy and light tasting although heavy on the marzipan flavor. Cost was $6.95. Small indoor seating available.“
“When in Solvang, CA, consider starting your day with breakfast at The Baker's Table. Don't let the line to order scare you as it moves at a decent pace. Order at the counter, receive a number, and your order is brought to your table (seating is available inside and outdoors). Service was pleasant. What we tried: -Breakfast burrito, which was stuffed with scrambled eggs, sausage, onions, and cheddar cheese. Comes with a side of fruit and some salsa, too. -Croissant sandwich - freshly baked, flaky croissant filled with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese. Comes with a side of applewood smoked bacon, too! -Iced mocha latte did the trick and gave me the morning pick-me-up I needed.“
“My favorite coffee or tea place when in Solvang. I always visit the Boutique and plan to sit down and relax. The service is amazing, soothing and professionally friendly.Their coffee and tea menu are worth trying every single one, to then come back to your favorite. They have Herbal tea options for the days I avoid caffeine. I truly love it.I hope your experience is as amazing and/or better than mine. One last note, there isn’t a lot of food items for my lactose restrictions but they few they have are good but not good enough for me to buy it again since I needed a lot of coffee and water to try to balance the strong flavor.I’ll update once I revisit the Boutique and take a picture of the item with the name.Dietary restrictions: Lactose allergy alternatives.“
