“WOW WOW WOW WOW! We absolutely love this place! Family owned. All of the recipes are from the Grandma, traditional recipes from Mexico. This place is located in the old Woolworth's building in downtown Oxnard. There's parking on the street (love that there's no parking meters). There's two tables (more like picnic tables and benches) in front. The sandwiches are made with croissants (very light, fresh and tasty). We haven't had the crepes yet, but they do look very tasty too! We had the ham & cheese sandwich (with thick slices of both), guava empanadas (these are my absolute favorites here), and I had the cafe jesuita (sweet coffee). They also offer iced drinks, frappes, raspados, Oaxacan hot chocolate. Pastries: assorted cookies, flan, macarons (a variety of flavors). 10 different kinds of sweet crepes. The prices are very reasonable. Stop in and introduce yourself to one of the family members, Juan (dad to the owner).“
“Food is always amazing. Moqueca mariscos is our go to-delicious and fresh. Service was top notch. Even though they were down servers, our waiter was a class act! He made sure every table was treated like they were the VIP table. Truly appreciated the effort and attention to detail. Don't pass on the caipirinha- incredible drink to complement the Brazilian cuisine.“
“Lunch time , first time here , it was fast to order , the table we sat on was super dirty , waitress /cashier brought me the wrong item , she's funny, she told Me to just switch one of the tacos on my plate with person in front of me for his tacos , rather than taking my meal back and getting me The right order . Good thing I new who that other person was , anyways, we had the lunch special $12.00 fish tacos and drink , the fish is bland , no flavor at all , you have to fix it by putting a lot of hot Sause or salt or other ingredients. . Tortillas are pretty good , everything else was fine . I won't return .“
“We had a party of 11 last night for my husband's birthday dinner. We were seated within 15 minutes or so, didn't wait long at all. They had 3 tables together which accommodated all of us comfortably, & we could all see each other around the tables, was great for conversation! Our good friends brought a cake for the birthday celebration, which the servers took to the restaurants refrigerator for us. The staff brought out dessert plates & forks as well as extra napkins as well (nice!). Everyone seemed happy with their food, but I did learn later one of my sons said his steak was a bit tough in spots. My daughter-in-laws parents ordered 2 blooming onions (thank you!) for the tables, which were delicious. We had a great time, w/ excellent service. “We were off to a slow start-was the chef on break? But with an appetizer on the house, nice service, and a desire to eat Saag Paneer I waited. The Saag Paneer was full of flavor albeit I wish I had gotten it spicy not Medium. The Chicken vindaloo was good but not inspiring. The garlic naan good but it's usually fool proof. The complimentary rice pudding was light and the cardamom apparent. Good service except for food taking a while.“
“Leashless Brewing is a great little place that brews some awesome beers and seltzers.I am Not a seltzer drinker but there is something in the Mosa and Strawjito Seltzer that keep us coming back. The TriFin and syncopation are also two awesome beers you gotta come by and try. Whenever we come to Ventura or come through we have to stop and get beers to go.“

“Always enjoyable Adolfo Grill!! We love the atmosphere and the food. The bar area is fun and lively. The dining area can be intimate or family fun. This evening, my boyfriend ordered the daily special Porterhouse, seasoned and cooked to perfection. We also had the popular fish and chips, grilled lemon chicken and the small plate of salmon skewers, which was actually a perfect dinner size. The service is always wonderful. It's a favorite spot for special occasions or dinner with friends.“

“My wife and I just brought our UK friend here! I ordered their Cold Brew Coffee. As I am a Cold Brew fanatic, and in my opinion, if the Brew ain't made locally, it just ain't Cold Brew. Starbucks upsets my stomach. And such other places that imitate Cold brew. Normally I'd been through 2 trentas no ice by the evening. I'm still sipping on Simones Cold brew! The quality is amazing. Very refreshing and there is no bitter after taste. I will be back.“
“I ordered the Mexi Cali bowl with the egg and the margarita pizza with mozzarella cheese. Good in taste, ingredients, and presentation. Not great. One iced mocha lavender coffee and a hot chai tea latte. I asked for almond milk but they were made with oat milk. It was good though. I really liked the pastries. Nutter Butter cookie(which was recommended) and vanilla donut were outstanding. There are a lot of options on the menu. And the employees are wonderful. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free choices. I think it's definitely worth a try.“

“Did a quick search in the area on Yelp, and was pleased to find a place that featured cider. Finding places that feature cider is a challenge, especially in LA/Ventura County. We stopped in to check out this new place to us and found out that this establishment has been open for approximately 12 years as a winery. And several years ago they got into making ciders! This place is primarily a winery with a spin off of a cidery where they feature approximately 5 ciders on tap. Plus they have ciders in bottles that you can take away. They had one apple cider and several other flavors. As I am a traditionalist when it comes to cider, I stick to the apple cider! It was good but definitely on the sweeter side! I prefer dry ciders! Ciders cost 11 dollars a glass. They have take away bottles of ciders too! Nice item to take to the beach! If you are not a cider fan or prefer wine, they have an extensive menu of wine! The winery/cidery does have a comfy location to kick back within a small space! They have nice comfy seats plus larger communal tables! “Butter and Fold is FABULOUS. The team is welcoming, friendly and committed to the highest quality of food and drinks. I regularly enjoy croissants from Izola, in the east village of San Diego and voted the best croissant in 2022 by yelp AND B&F comes close to the same buttery interior and flaky exterior that makes a perfect croissant. Simply excellent croissants! I love them so much I haven’t tried their other pastries yet. As an espresso *snob* I appreciate that they always give great care to a perfectly calibrated shot. They are adventurous with the beans they use and it’s a delightful experience to try different roasters through B&F. The beautiful interior is relaxing and comfortable. GREAT JOB B&F!“

“Went in search of gluten free brunch., not easy in a shopping centre full of chain restaurants. Like finding a needle in a haystack!Initially the cashier was confused what gluten free meant but then someone gave him the allergen book, which was clear and helpful. He was also very helpful as there are a lot of ingredients.The platter I had was delicious and then the manager came over and asked me if I'd like some tortilla chips, whilst not flully gluten free (they are cooked on the same grill as flour tortillas). He explained if I wasn't celiac I might be able to have them If I wanted. It was kind of him.***American restaurants, please mark clearly on the outside menu which items are gluten free, so we can decide before we go in and hold up a long queue of people! “11/5/23 - was wanting spaghetti and meatballs with a salad. All was really good only I wish they would put more sauce in with the spaghetti and the meatballs should be kept in sauce as well. They're so naked and a bit dry.Hadn't been here in a really long time. Had some Presto Bucks so came in to get dinner. They were hopping, waited a little but to place my order. Then something came up with someone who ordered after me and then line to order stopped moving. But I could see the cooks in the back just loading them counter with all these orders and no one doing anything about them. Then as Postmates person camw in to pick up an order, and a couple of phone in orders showed up. Had to wait about 20 minutes to get my order and there was still as line of people up to the door to order still. Love how you can pick your pasta and sauce. Their salads are so yummy. Great place!!“

Menchie's is always such a tasty treat! :) Today was a hot day here in Ventura so the best way to cool down was to come get some frozen yogurt!! The dole whip flavor was perfectly refreshing with some fruit toppings. They have many different types of toppings depending on what you want to add to your yogurt. You can also choose from different type of yogurt flavors or mix two flavors together. They rotate their flavors so you have the opportunity to try many different types. The lady at the register is always polite and helpful and so is the other gentleman there helping her. I saw the man constantly cleaning and he even gave me kids chalk to write on the board. The place is quiet and relaxing. This is our favorite frozen location, so we will continue coming here.“
“Went back since my usual was closed (again as per my last review lol) and this place looked empty so we opted to have soup on this cold, February evening. We ordered: Wor wonton soup- much better in terms of filling Egg drop soup- tasty and your usual Dry wok beef- pretty delicious and spicy. I would order again. Crispy noodles- thin crispy noodles topped with a special chef gravy sauce and veggies. Would get again but request more crispy noodles as we are crunch lovers. There was only one person assisting and taking orders, handling takeout.“
“I go to Sharky's Ventura a few times a week for a salmon taco with chips and their wonderful Avocado Quinoa salad (much of which I take home), plus organic green tea. Their food is healthy, fresh and delicious every time. The service is friendly and responsive - very good. Indoor or outdoor dining. I've taken 5 of my friends there over the past year and all were very happy --continue to go there. One said her Avocado Quinoa salad was the best salad she had had in years. I'm grateful for Sharky's. For me they "tick all the boxes."“
“Super good service. Seated us quickly, helped pick out some appetizers and got us them quickly. Goat cheese with chilli sauce is really really good. Edamame also was seasoned well and was a great order. Manager gave us some fries to try for our first visit and talked to us for a bit. Overall just a really great experience. Good job to the staff.“
