“We walked in a couple of minutes after opening on Christmas Eve. The place was empty (predictably) and we were able to get our food for dinner that night without a hassle. It's the closest Chinese place to Solvang, and the people were super friendly. It didn't take long for our food to come out and we made sure to leave a nice gratuity. I will say that something about the food didn't sit right with my tummy, but it tasted fine so maybe it was just me. Definitely not enough to take a star away.“

“food is good. service is fair. no eye contact with server/ cashier when asking for condiments or a bag because order was to go. always seems that there is never enough persons at front counter during lunch hour rush. Somedays when I order a salad I get the whole garden and I can barely close the box. other times a few croutons & 3 cherry tomatoes and a sprinkling of lettuce.“

“Have been visiting Bob's since they opened. It is consistently busy with travelers as well as a local trade. Best for me to come early esp on weekends. Other days & times a line may be expected, so I try to be prepared by studying the menu flyers before hitting the counter. When my turn comes, I order breads/pastries first, then meals or drinks prefaced by 'For Here' or 'To Go' as a signal. (awesome) cookies are displayed to the right of the pay station, so scope them out before ordering. Staff works well together and is efficient, packs to-go orders with care and busses tables quickly and pleasantly. Having worked retail and in a bakery/gift shop, I tip even for takeout. Service and kitchen staff def earn it- I'm happy to, as a thank you. Remember there is another equally charming location, located in Ballard townsite along Alamo Pintado, the main road between Solvang and Los Olivos, and is reached easily from 101 from north or south via Highway 154. ( Los Olivos is another village with many local wine tasting rooms and galleries for perusing after a meal)“

The quaint ambiance transported us straight to Tuscany — it felt like dining at a family-run hillside restaurant, authentic and second to none. We will absolutely be back — no matter what. “My wife and I went here last night for our 21st anniversary dinner and it was absolutely perfect. Our server was super kind and explained the menu to us.

We started with the seasonal salad, which was spinach with some roasted beets and figs and pistachios. It was super good for our main entrée. My wife went with the salmon and I went with the steak Fritos. Our server told us that the duck fries were legendary and he was not incorrect.

We really enjoyed our meal here and we ended it by getting the caramel crème brûlée. The service was great and we really enjoyed this place. If you’re interested in coming here I would definitely put this on your list.“

“Super awesome staff! Colbi was amazing, and was very understanding about my allergies, and acted with great care. Colbi let us review their ingredient lists, and was very accommodating. There was a lot of seating space, but there was nearly always someone waiting on a table, because of their high customer count, but the food is worth the wait! The portions are big, and it's evident that they make each sandwich with great love and care– also you can watch them make them lol. This shop is filled with lots of passion and energy, so just remember that quality takes time.
