“I was overwhelmed with how many options this place had. We got the fried chicken plate, shrimp po' boy and an oreo shake. Our food arrived quickly, but didn't taste (or look) like it was slapped together. Staff was friendly and I appreciated that they had to-go boxes available without having to ask. Very good portions. Thanks for such a wonderful meal. :) If we lived in the area we would definitely become regulars.“

“We had a GREAT experience here. We got off the boat after spending a full day at Channel Islands NP and walked in here to order take out. The server was so friendly and accommodating, offering us a cold beverage while we waited. She was excellent with taking our order, noting my partners food allergy with respect. The food was fast and super hot. Even after the 15 min drive back to the hotel the orange chicken was crispy and both entrees were hot and delicious. Just an awesome experience from service to food. Would love to stop back by if we’re in the area again!“

“I got a juice from here at the farmers market it was a large blue drink. That was Sunday it’s now Wednesday night, I can’t stop thinking about it. It was so good and made me feel healthy too , I drank it all that day. Only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is bc it’s really expensive . They told me the large was 15, then they said with tax that’s 17.50$ . This is the first time I’ve paid tax at the farmers market anything else is a solid price, corn is 5.00 flat, nuts are 5$ flat, huge agua Fresca is 10$ flat you get where I’m going with this. It’s delicious however paying 17$ for a drink did hurt. I mean that’s the price of a meal these days. Drink flavor taste etc 5/5 price 2/5.“

“I had jury duty at the Ventura courthouse and when I was through, I was starving so I decided to go to eggs and things I ordered the chorizo, scrambled eggs, and English muffin with strawberry raspberry preserves and then of course you get the Swedish pancake, which is exactly why I’m so obsessed with this place. The service was spectacular. I got iced tea to drink. I never waited for anything. Everything was always there. The owner of the of the restaurant was so nice. Make sure everything was good. I can’t wait to go back. I’ll actually make a special trip to go to that exit and things particularly cause the service was so great and the honor was so nice.“

“I was first introduced to Bright Spark In March at the Ventura Beer Experience. We talked with a lovely couple behind the table and tasted Day Trip, which has become my all-time favorite. We were introduced to a concept called Musical Bingo that day, and I was delighted to make my first visit to the brewery on my 55th birthday in May. Every single one of the employees there was kind, gracious, and warm. The food was absolutely amazing and the Musical Bingo is so much fun! “Need a great tasting soup? You might want to try this place!! We got the tom yum seafood soup (flavors of tangy lemon citrus w/ fresh ginger and savory garlic). Only thing was the last bit of broth was too rich for my taste but I know some people who would love and prefer this.
The shrimp wonton soup was my fave. Both soups were a 5/5. We also enjoyed the noodles!!!

“One in our party is a Vegan. Based on our research we chose Back Bench. We ordered one Vegan and one Pepperoni pizza. Both were very good. We learned there is a daily limit of pizzas created and once that number is hit, the kitchen closes. Back Bench offers slices.

Located in the downtown area of Ventura, there's a busy vibe, lots of people out. Can get 4 hour free parking in a nearby lot, otherwise, there are meters. We used the ParkMobile app to easily pay for street parking.“
