“I got a juice from here at the farmers market it was a large blue drink. That was Sunday it’s now Wednesday night, I can’t stop thinking about it. It was so good and made me feel healthy too , I drank it all that day. Only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is bc it’s really expensive . They told me the large was 15, then they said with tax that’s 17.50$ . This is the first time I’ve paid tax at the farmers market anything else is a solid price, corn is 5.00 flat, nuts are 5$ flat, huge agua Fresca is 10$ flat you get where I’m going with this. It’s delicious however paying 17$ for a drink did hurt. I mean that’s the price of a meal these days. Drink flavor taste etc 5/5 price 2/5.“

“So good, a hidden gem! I’m not usually a big fan of bagels, but the bagel was absolutely the star of the show when it came to our sandwiches. And they didn’t skimp on any ingredients (plenty of avocado, meat, and cheese). The lox sandwich was great and came with a house dill mustard sauce. The bagels were big and almost fluffy. “I stepped a little outside my usual food rotation and ended up at Kaapicat Cafe in downtown Ventura—and I’m glad I did.

I went with the paneer dosa, and honestly, it felt like having dessert for lunch in the best way possible. Warm, flavorful, spicy, and just one of those meals that hits right away.

I showed up about 20 minutes before closing (at 1:40pm on a Thursday), so things were already winding down. The outdoor seating had been put away, but I was still able to grab my food and sit over at the tables next door at Moby’s on Main, which worked out just fine.

It feels like one of those places that would be great to hang out if you catch it earlier. There’s a bit of an artistic vibe in the decor and the way it’s set up. The interior has those classic old red bricks that are part of the downtown Ventura scene, and I appreciate that they didn’t cover them up with some other type of wall finish.

They’re displaying artwork from a local artist, which I always appreciate as I’m a local artist myself. It adds to that relaxed, creative, vibrant downtown feel that I enjoy in spots like this. I’m always happy when a place supports the local art scene.“

“I had jury duty at the Ventura courthouse and when I was through, I was starving so I decided to go to eggs and things I ordered the chorizo, scrambled eggs, and English muffin with strawberry raspberry preserves and then of course you get the Swedish pancake, which is exactly why I’m so obsessed with this place. The service was spectacular. I got iced tea to drink. I never waited for anything. Everything was always there. The owner of the of the restaurant was so nice. Make sure everything was good. I can’t wait to go back. I’ll actually make a special trip to go to that exit and things particularly cause the service was so great and the honor was so nice.“

“I always drive past this coffee shop and never stop, but I finally had time and decided to stop in and was pleasantly surprised. I love how prospect positions itself as a coffee shop for the people and for the community. The coffee is great the staff is nice and the space is great for meeting up with friends or working solo.

And their baked goods are delectable, even featuring a selection of gluten free and vegan delights. Their customer service is stellar, too. Singing Sun is in a convenient midtown location - at the corner of Main St and Santa Cruz - and is not to be missed. But please leave me a vegan scone.“

“Compliments to Gayla, the mixers and roasters at Moore Coffee. I thought the Classic Espresso was the best. Surprisingly I find the 805 with an even more complex and rich flavor. My espresso machine labors thru the finely ground mixture and takes an eternal 30-40 seconds producing a thick crema that is almost half the shot. For this spot… I had mixed feelings.

Walking in, I loved the vibe—super cozy couches where you can sit while waiting, plus tables if you want to dine in. They also had beautiful paintings displayed (I believe for sale), which made the space feel really unique and fun to look around.

I started with my usual: a sugar-free vanilla oat latte. Unfortunately, it was pretty bland and lacked flavor, so I had to go back and get a side of cold foam to make it better.

BUT their açaí smoothie?? SO good. Super fresh, not overly sweet—honestly perfect. I’d definitely come back just for the smoothies over the coffee.

For food:• The #2 avocado toast was AMAZING. The spicy honey drizzle with fresh bacon took it to another level.• The Seward sandwich was just okay—very plain (egg, ham, tomato, onion), nothing special.• The breakfast burrito though… sooo good. Paired with their serrano sauce, it hit every time. I’d 100% order that again.

Service-wise, they only had one girl working the front—taking orders and making drinks—and she handled it so well. Super sweet and did an amazing job.

Overall, not a bad experience at all—but I’d come back for the food and smoothies, not the coffee. 🤍“
