“Stopped at Honey and Herb while we were in California, and overall it was a very solid breakfast.

Everything we ordered was good. I would not quite call it great, but it was definitely above average and showed more thought than the typical breakfast spot.

The Bloody Mary was especially well done and had actual flavor instead of tasting like somebody poured vodka into tomato juice and called it a day. The waffles were another highlight. They were well thought out, properly executed, and just flat out good.

The pork belly had great potential, but I would have liked it cooked a little longer so the fat could break down further and turn it into that tender, sticky meat candy pork belly is supposed to be.

The only real downside was the wait. Breakfast took over an hour for a table of four, which is a long time to sit around getting progressively hungrier. Fortunately, the food was good when it finally arrived.

Honey and Herb was not a life changing breakfast, but it was comfortably above average, thoughtfully prepared, and absolutely worth trying. I would go back, hopefully on a day when the kitchen is moving a little faster.“

“Stopped in on a whim while driving through and was not disappointed. The Stone Pot Beef, pork buns, and grilled dumplings were our top three dishes, but honestly, everything we tried was delicious—including the beef rolls, wontons in chili sauce, and fried rice. I can’t wait to come back and explore more of their traditional Hunan-style offerings.“

“The pizza sauce was generously and evenly spread throughout the pizza - same with the added cheese and mushrooms. The additions are not cheap at $4 each, but the amount is generous. The pizza was ready when they said it would be. The taste is better than 80% of the others and pricing is in line with what others charge. The sauce is a bit salty and does not explode with taste of tomato and garlic in ones mouth, but it is in very good proportion to the crust and cheese, making for a very good pizza!

August 2026 Tried a large, thin crust pizza with mushrooms. Again, cheese was generous and the pizza had good balance. The tomato sauce is not the best, but it not the worst either. The mushroom portions were generous and huge. Make that HUGE! Overall a very good pizza for the money.“

My favorite meal here is the bacon cheeseburger with an egg on it and sweet potato fries and passion fruit iced tea service is top notch the portions are big and if I lived local I would come here often can't wait to dine in again keep up the good work everybody excellent food quality and everything“

“I’ve been going to Sumo Sushi in Newbury Park for well over 18 years, typically on a weekly or biweekly basis, and I can confidently say it has been one of the most consistently good restaurants in the area.

Over all those years, whether dining in or ordering takeout, I have never had a significant issue with the food, service, or quality. The staff has always been friendly and attentive, the food is consistently fresh, and my orders have been prepared correctly. There’s a reason I have continued coming back for nearly two decades.

I’ve noticed some recent negative reviews that appear to involve orders placed through third-party food delivery services. I think it’s important to distinguish between an issue with the restaurant and an issue that occurs after the food leaves the restaurant. Delivery delays, handling, missing items after pickup, or food arriving cold can involve the delivery service and driver and are not necessarily a reflection of the restaurant itself.

Based on 18+ years of firsthand experience, Sumo Sushi has earned my trust. Restaurants can have an occasional off day, but consistency over nearly two decades says far more to me than a handful of negative delivery-related reviews. Sumo Sushi continues to be one of my go-to restaurants in Newbury Park, and I highly recommend giving them a try—especially dining in and experiencing the food and service firsthand.“

“I had an excellent experience at Habit Burger! I stopped in first thing in the morning absolutely starving, and Betty, the manager, made the visit even better. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and took the time to recommend the new Korean Sweet & Spicy Burger. I'm so glad I took her advice because it was easily one of the best burgers I've had. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the bacon was cooked nice and crispy, and every bite was outstanding. I'd honestly rate it a perfect 10/10.
