“Came in and wanted to try something new and different cuz I love Mexican food but I saw they had a Hawaiian torta so I gave it a try and got some tacos on the side as well and Food was delicious and definitely worth a try, service was amazing and the vibe overall was great, highly recommended if your in the area to give this place a shot if your craving some really good Mexican food“

“I came in pretty hungry and wanted some crispy tacos , I got one chicken, beef, and carne asada. All three were excellent and the price was pretty decent. The size of the tacos were pretty much standard size, nothing huge not really small like street tacos are. My only gripe was three tacos definitely didn't fill me up and I should have ordered three more. Since I don't see anybody posting photos of crispy tacos here you go.“

“Maggies has been our family go to for mexican food for I dont even know how many years now. Their carne asada, bean rice & cheese burrtitos are favs but corn burritos are too. Its a toss up at times lol so we sometimes get the asada burrito + corn burritos & share.
Hot sauce could make anything taste good haha because its so tasty with just the right amt of heat
Easy location & staff are always so nice. Our family loves their food so much we even used them for catering my sons rehearsal dinner😁“

Chips and salsa to start. The salsa is pretty good, and has a nice spice to it. The chips seemed typical tortilla chips.

The fajita trio was served up warm and looked really fresh, the colors of everything were very appealing. Tasting the fajitas confirmed that they were light and fresh as they looked. There really wasn't much in the seasoning added, so it really was ‘au natural’ and simple. It worked well on this dish with the fresh vegetables. The tortillas were typical, nothing special to say about these. I did enjoy the beans and cheese, mashed up nicely and tasted great.

Overall, a nice place to stop for Mexican food. Not a lot of spices added to the food here, but you can count on the freshness.“

If you like super hot salsa request their habanero (yellow) salsa - no extra charge but take it easy! Chicken quesadillas have pulled super moist chicken. Service quick and friendly. Staying at the hotel will garner you a little discount. Good weekday happy hours.“

“I’m from San Diego, so I know from good Mexican food; but I have never had any as good as I had at La Raza. Nearby street parking might be an issue; but if you order ahead, or honor the 20-minute green curb parking, not a problem. Also, a little walk will help stimulate your appetite or work off the calories. It looks like the place was just opened by a young wife and husband. Very friendly. The menu is displayed along the face of the ordering counter at about knee level. It shows a photo of the dish plus its name. I had the “new” Super Alambre, which was chopped marinated streak and shrimp on a bed of refried frijoles and melted cheese. With small sides of cut cucumber and radish, and the obligatory foul-wrapped hot corn tortillas. I garnished it with fresh chopped cabbage, onions, oregano, and a jalapeno pepper and hot sauce (which resembled Tapatio). I expected my mouth to explode from the heat, but I was pleasantly surprised. I could actually taste the
separate flavors of the dish. I had to complement the cook, and asked what region did my dish originate. He said “Puebla”. I was surprised, I’m used to the typical Southern California / Baja varieties, which can run from authentic to generic to don’t scare away the touristas. My wife had the equally new “Quesadillas Hechos a Mano,” quesadillas stuffed with melted cheese and shredded chicken and lettuce stuffed in a sauce-covered folded flour tortilla. She offered me a bite, it was equally delicious. One thing, though, we chose to eat outside at a side patio table because the music inside was very very loud. But, what do expect from an old gringo?😁“

“It's not easy for me to give 5 stars to a Mexican spot. We ordered take out since we were in town visiting. I ordered an asada burrito and it was delicious. Red and green salsa were both good. I also ordered a chicken taco and it was good. If I'm in the area again, I definitely know I can count on Taco Mendoza.“

“Ventura has a plethora of Mexican restaurants. La Tapatia is now on my list of go to spots.
My first visit I ordered a carnitas burrito, rather basic order, but not necessarily...
La Tapatia has tender carnitas, but most importantly, they grilled the entire burrito so every ingredient was hot!
Many places throw in cold salsa, cold cheese, so there are cold spots in the burrito. Not La Tapatia.
In the past, in terms of safety, this strip mall used to be pretty dicey. Each business and the surrounding area has cleaned up, new landscaping. Much nicer.
I'll be back. I hope the other menu offerings are as tasty as my burrito.“

The star of the show came right away, the refried beans with the chips and salsa! 🤤🤤🤤. I can't remember the last time something was that good! Plenty of on site parking, handicap ♿️ friendly parking and entrance, lots and LOTS of menu options (including vegan)
