“Favorite local place for craft cocktails. The bartenders here know their craft and they stock hard to find liquor that most local places don’t have. On my most recent visit I ordered a La Louisiana which in addition to whiskey and vermouth also requires Benedictine and Absinthe, which most local bars here don’t carry.“

“The best place to get the absolute last call in the whole city of Ventura CA. Dude I've been going to the Sewer since my 21st birthday. R. I. P. Jim W has bought me over ten birthday drinks and even smoked a few cigars way back in the day when the sewer sold stogies and cigs. A special thanks to the associates who are friends for decades Mike and Cashes who tha Bomb at the bartender bis and business is awesome.
Thanks again Sewer

“Super cool little place that we have been wanting to check out! I tried the sidecar specialty cocktail they had on their menu and I loved it! My hubby ordered an old fashion and he loved it! We got a few of the hand rolls to try. My fave was the spicy tuna hand roll but they were all tasty. We ordered the wings too. They were spicy but yummy. This place is great for drinks and a couple of finger foods imo. I didn’t have the urge to try their main entrees not sure why. Might come back and I’ll update.“

“When I used to frequent this place, the aspect that I truly appreciated was the speedy service they offered, especially when compared to other establishments. It was often quite challenging to have drinks promptly served elsewhere. Moreover, one of the highlights of visiting this bar was the engaging nature of the customers. They enjoyed interacting with me, striking up conversations, and creating a lively atmosphere“
“This place wasn't bad. Pretty run-of-the-mill blue collar bar. When I visited, it was karaoke night. It took quite a while to get a drink as the bar maid was in the back. She was nice enough I guess though. The prices are a little high for what you get. $6 for a coors, while it is kind of the standard, does seem a little high for what you are getting. I would understand if this place was in a hub or something. But it isn't and the the vibe of this place does not make the $6 really worth the whole experience of visiting. One thing that this place has going for it is that it's one of the only bars I'm the neighborhood. So if you are chilling in this area and don't want to venture off too far, then this place may be a good option. The place does have a large capacity as well.Overall, this place is okay. Kind of a dive for the price, but not bad“

“I've only been here once, and my experience was good but not great. The hype of eating here was greater than I feel it should be. Food seemed average while the service was subpar. I will give it another try but won't go out of the way to do so.“
“Best neighborhood bar in town! All of the bartenders are amazing, the owners and staff are friendly and fun, and they work hard to make this an all inclusive, comfortable spot for a quick drink after work or really get your party on with live music on the weekends. They have taco and trivia on Tuesdays, game nights on Wednesday, Tiki drink Thursdays and Monday is potluck and karaoke. There's always something happening at The Garage Bar!“

“Fantastic service and mouthwatering seafood! The fish and calamari were standouts. The fish had a perfect crispy exterior and juicy interior. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly and good looking staff. We were so impressed with the fish and chip, we ordered another one! Two minor suggestions for improvement: ease up on the fries' seasoning (salt) and include utensils with to-go orders. Highly recommended for fresh seafood lovers! Brophy Bros has secured a spot on my SoCal favorites list – I'll be back!“

“Many years ago my wife and I were driving down the freeway and decided we wanted a seafood dinner. We approached Seaward ave and decided to get off and see what restaurants we could find. We figured with the name Seaward there had to be a seafood restaurant. We drove all the way to the dead end at the beach. As we made the return loop we noticed Eric Ericksons restaurant , bingo,. We stopped in and as we walked to the front door we were greeted by a carved statue of a Viking. We entered and found it very quaint. We sat and after viewing the menu and ordering mai tied we decided to order what was then called the seafood boulyabase. It was fantastic. Since that time Erik's moved to the pier and we have visited many times. My wife passed 7 years ago and I am now living in Tacoma Washington. I will miss the restaurant and the memories it gave us. I am not sure what the name of it is now but you need to try the dish that has muscles, shrimp, crab, clams in a white saffron soup , you won't be disappointed. Oh the sunsets are very beautiful so enjoy I truly miss this place“

“What a great little find this was. Exquisite food at a reasonable price. Good varied menu with fresh local ingredients. I had the fresh tuna tartare with chips and a gem lettuce, pear, blue cheese and walnut salad. Good portion sizes too. One of the best meals I’ve had in Ventura these last six months.“

“Coming from San Diego, we had huge expectations. The food is reasonable but they don't have salsa bar. It's good if you are in the area.
Self serve: order at a window, wait for your number to be called, pick up food, beg for mini salsa cups and you get 2 at a time no matter how much you ask. We ordered 4 entrees and got 2 salsa. We asked for more and got 2 again. Their default tip for self serve and repeated requests for salsa is 15%. What are we tipping for?
Location is great next to the pier. Paid parking to get here.“
