Brophy Bros. Ventura offers American food done right with fast, friendly service and excellent food. The food is beautiful with wonderful proportions, and large portions are not overwhelming. Dishes like shrimp & chips and fish & chips have great batter but everything needed more salt. Oysters are very good and different. Salads are crunchy and fresh, salmon is great, and the sauteed onion/pepper bed is well seasoned. The cioppino pairs well with complimentary bread, though the bread is a bit on the harder side. The burger is satisfying, and the shrimp salad makes everything feel complete. The marina views are very relaxing, and outdoor dining has a spectacular view. Service is attentive and abundant, and the staff take care of their staff.
