“I went to Sharkys with my 13wk old puppy to start practicing sitting nicely at a restaurant. I carried him in to pick up, and asked if there is an option to have the food brought outside (I dont want to be that rule breaker, bringing in pets that are not service dogs) The server was really sweet and explained, I just have to order to eat in, and they will find me outside. PS - he did great!“

“I’ve been loyal Yolanda’s customer for many years and they always deliver! - but I have to wonder if there’s a new chef in town. I ordered Chile Colorado and it was not like it has been in the past (1 month ago). The beef was tough, the pieces were small 1/2 inch chunks. The sauce was very bland even after added salt. 2 Bay leaves were in my sauce and that’s all I could taste. Not a Mexican flavor at all. Will I stop going? Of course not! But I’m disappointed at this recent change.“

We love to dine in and enjoy their wide selections of delicious one of a kind salsas, at the salsa bar. “This place is one of a kind. From the atmosphere to the customer service. Walking in you see the amazing mural they have on the back wall but you also get an instant aroma of the delicious food they have brewing. Jesse’s friendly face at the counter invites you in and his knowledge of the food leaves you conflicted on what to order. I had a classic, their menudo. It came with handmade tortillas and their taco bar has the most flavorful red salsa I’ve ever had. Perfect combination for the menudo. I also had an agua fresca. Their cucumber mint was refreshing. My girlfriend had their pozole. Although I didn’t taste it I couldn’t help but steal one of her tostadas, slap on some of that red salsa and some cheese and sour cream. To finish it off we had a plátano frito with lechera. Honestly, everything was to die for. Will definitely be back for more. We were left with a craving for their specialty, their huarache.“

“Real crab in the burrito-peefect.The Cancun burrito which had grilled fish and real crab, had an amazing flavor. It comes with tortilla which is great with the salsa bar. Great flavors, ch I ices and pther items at the self service bar. Especially the Habanero. Staff are welcoming and friendly which is a high point. I wished the burrito was a little larger, but with the chips amd crab is filling. I cannot wait to come back again. Overall, 10/10. Flavor 10/10. Cleanliness 10/10. “I love Baja Fresh especially the Baja Burritos the Fajitas are great as well as their tacos. Ingredients are always fresh. They always provide extra chips when asked. I really enjoy all the different salsa in the salsa bar. The negatives are they no longer give the grilled green onion with the entrees and the banana peppers are no longer provided in the salsa bar.“

“I've been meaning to try the other places in the shopping center but it's hard to pass up Gaby's. Coworkers and I drive over there from Simi on our lunch break but it's easy with being able to call in our orders and have it ready when we arrive.“

“As a frequent customer I had my first disappointing meal here. Rice and beans were really dry and the whole #10 combo was only warm in temperature. This is not the norm and had I not been seated against the wall between people I would have gone up to the counter for a re-do. All the various meats you could want are on offer, with shrimp and fish dishes available, too. We considered the prices reasonable.

Mom ordered a taco salad; I had a big plate of nachos with the meat on top split: half carnitas and half Chile Verde [no other eatery has made a point of offering me this half & half option, btw].

A well stocked, complimentary, self-serve display of salsas, chips, and marinated vegetables was much appreciated.

Our dishes were promptly brought out to our table. Mom's taco salad was not large to look at, but was packed full—she kept commenting about how delicious and fresh everything was (I agree) and enjoyed her beef. My nachos were loaded: carnitas were crispy, not greasy, and with more flavor than I have experienced at other places; the Chile Verde was succulent and scrumptious with a tangy sauce.

For unpretentious Mexican fare, Taqueria El Tapatio was really a delightful surprise for us. We're not Moorpark locals, but will be back when we can.“

If you live in SoCal, what do they do for a break?In Toronto, if you get bored and want a weekend of craziness, you head to Montreal. If you want peace and quiet, you head north. Well San Fran is 5 hours away and a change of pace and weather would be good right? I'm packed up in the car already and my SoCal friend is available to make the trip. Cool!
