“I always have trouble rating Mexican food restaurants because I grew up on homemade autentic Mexican food. No one, not one of my siblings can make enchiladas as good as my mom used to make. So this place did have good service, great atmosphere and great food. None of us complained about and of our dishes and would come here again. We ordered the chile colorado, chile Verde and the wet burrito. Good beans & rice, not to spicy chile with great flavor. They did refill the chips & salsa a few times, those were great too. The location was great, plenty of parking, and great views.“

“Having passed by this place many times, I finally made the time to stop and try them out. I’m very glad that I did.The food is spot on. I got 2 tacos on my first visit; one asada and one chicharrón. The person at the counter advised me that the chicharrón was spicy and I was glad to hear it.Both tacos were delicious but the chicharrón was damn near perfect. Very spicy but it’s the kind of spice that keeps you wanting to eat more.I’ve been back a few times and each time is solid. I’m a fan of consistency and this place is always consistently good.“

“Pretty good food, they are identical to Carnitas el Brother in Port Hueneme. However, chips are not complimentary like at Carnitas El Brother.Pozole Verde is very delicious!! Horchata is great! Flautas are delish!! Carnitas are yummy. I thought $4.99 for chips and salsa (just a spicy salsa roja) was excessive. Especially when their sister location… err Brother location in Hueneme offers them for free.“

Chile Relleno burrito was hailed as the best ever. The chips were so good and the tortillas are made in house. Highly recommended! “Really good Mexican food. I come here for plate #10 which is the carne asada plate placed on a bed of fries with side of rice, beans, salad and a small corn quesadilla with a roasted pepper for accent. The meat juices drop into the fries which makes them absolutely delightful to eat.“

“Breakfast is just like home made. From huevos rancheros to nopales con carne and hand made corn tortillas. The only negative is that they only have instant coffee which you have to get up and make yourself, which I still don't mind BUT all they have is Styrofoam cups :(. The food is however, the BEST compared to ALL other Mexican restaurants. There's usually just one waitress and the female cook/owner. That'll tell you it's just like being cooked a meal at home with great taste.“

I frequent the place once when I went to buy chicken broth for a sick person since it is very good for recovering and I saw and tried it and their lamb consomme was very good. Delicious, actually I personally recommend them to me. Sometimes they serve me very well, other times not so much that they forget, it depends on who serves it, but it is worth going for their very good food, freshly made at the moment and reasonable prices.“

My husband had the special which was Sea Bas with Ratatouille and it was out of this world delicious! The bartender (Brenton..sp?) was awesome! We tried 4 different drinks from the menu, they were very well balanced and delicious! The staff was very friendly from the moment we walked in the door. The service was wonderful! “I initially went there because I was looking for cheap eats. Google suggested that it was a reasonable price. It looked so delicious so I immediately ordered, The fish was amazing the service left something to be desired because they did not actually fulfill the request that I had asked for. I said no tortillan no rice, substitute beans. They gave me extra rice and French fries. They were more than happy to fix the order and give me the beans that I asked for. In all it was a pretty good experience although it costed me $18. I left the $10 tip because the lady who helped me was so kind and generous especially in fixing the mistake. And I can say I will return for the fish. But if you're looking for a reasonably priced Mexican food place this is definitely not it.“

“My husband and I were actually looking for a place to buy coffee. To our surprise this was not a panaderia but a restaurant. I had no idea what a "memela" was and ordered that. My husband ordered a carne asada burrito. We were both very happy with our selection. The season was perfect! This place seems to be a good spot for menudo. By the way corn tortillas are hand made. Oh ! What's a Memela ? It's a thick hand made tortilla with melted cheese and the sauce of your choice. Yes!!! An opened quesadilla! Between a quesadilla and a gordita ! I opted for the green salsa because it's their most mild salsa. But so delicious! Provecho Everyone“
