“I recently had a meal at Kanaloa Seafood, and I’m still thinking about it in the best way. From the start, the place had a really relaxed, coastal vibe that immediately put me in the mood for seafood. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and everything felt easy and comfortable without any rush. The food was the highlight of the whole experience. Everything tasted fresh, and you could really tell the quality of the seafood was top-notch. I ordered a seafood dish with a mix of shrimp and fish, and it was cooked perfectly—flavorful, not over-seasoned, and very satisfying. The sides complemented the main dish really well, and the portions were generous without being overwhelming.
Service was smooth and attentive. Our server checked in just the right amount and made sure we had everything we needed. Even when it got a bit busy, things were still handled efficiently.The atmosphere also deserves a mention—it felt clean, calm, and very fitting for a seafood spot. Their menu is more of fried or cooked seafood
I recommend it to people that love cooked seafood I’m more of a raw seafood lol 😅

“Moved to Vegas 25 years ago. Miss 3 things about Oxnard - Family, the beach and Otani’s. Been fortunate to eat in some of the best restaurants in the U.S. I would choose Otani’s Fried Teriyaki Snapper with double rice over any other meal that’s out there. Otani’s was a staple for me growing up and had the fortune of knowing the family. Crave it constantly and go there every day whenever I make it back to town.“

“Amazing seafood truck! My family and I came to California from Michigan hitting all kinds of different restaurants along the way and to our surprise this food truck destroyed all of the places we stopped at previously. The flavor of the food, the portions, the friendly staff absolutely blew us all away. This is a must stop place if you're in the area! The only negative thing I have to say about this place is the fact that we don't have it back home.“

“Had some time to kill this week and headed in to have some lunch, ordered a carne asada taco and albóndigas. Having worked in Mexican food places I figured the soup was gonna take longer. But it took about 20-25 mins to get the taco and the soup. The soup was delicious! But I had to cancel the taco since it took so long. If u are in a rush do not eat there..
If you have plenty of time and like homemade tortillas head in. The workers where friendly, but sadly I never got my money back for my taco 3.50 isn't much but it does leave me with bit of a poor experience because of it. Could have been 5 stars. Again food is delicious and greatly seasoned.“

“Takumi Teppanyaki is an Oxnard food truck serving up some authentic Japanese Teppan plates like you'd find at a Benihana. Prices are a bit less, ranging from $19 for Teppan Chicken with rice or a Yaki Soba (noodles) Chicken.

We shared their pricier (but very delicious) Takumi Combo at $29 with choice of 2: (real filet mignon, chicken, Korean BBQ, shrimp, scallops, salmon) with fresh Teppan vegetables and rice. The order was big enough to share with two of us. Takumi only opens late afternoon until 10 pm. You can also order ahead of time via meal delivery apps like GrubHub.

We highly suggest going since there are no Teppan restaurants in the immediate Oxnard or Port Hueneme area, and this food truck is surprisingly very authentic... minus the theatrical antics of a Benihana Teppan chef (which I can do without).“

“I only got to try them recently due to DoorDash and I have to say I like them way better than the snooty ones at Seafood. Their section is smaller but they are so generous with their portions. There's usually 2 ladies that work behind the counter and they know how to handle orders from the app, updating new items and removing those that are out vs the ones at Seafood are so dang clueless that they usually end up cancelling my orders. I do take my time to pickup the food so I know it'll be ready when I get there. I have returned countless times now, almost at a weekly basis, trying out different dishes and all have been delicious so far. The folks are friendly and take great care of packing the food ❤️“

“Highly recommend! I ordered uni (sea urchin) and otoro. They were excellent: fresh, rich, and high quality, with no off taste or smell even without any extra preparation. The staff were friendly, and pickup was smooth and quick. The uni also came in a beautiful wooden box. I’ll definitely try other kinds next time!“

“The tortas de asada and the queso de puerco are amazing! The location was clean, and we didn't have to wait long to get our food. They have the best fresh mango juice and plenty of parking. There are also some beautiful murals inside. We love this place and travel a few hours to get our tortas once a month.“
