Moved to Vegas 25 years ago. Miss 3 things about Oxnard - Family, the beach and Otani’s. Been fortunate to eat in some of the best restaurants in the U.S. I would choose Otani’s Fried Teriyaki Snapper with double rice over any other meal that’s out there.
Otani’s was a staple for me growing up and had the fortune of knowing the family. Crave it constantly and go there every day whenever I make it back to town.
the best sea food in town. I used to eat there when I live in Oxnard .Now I live in Santa Maria. My brother is in the Hospital in Oxnard so I go every Saturday
Been trying different clam chowders every weekend from local restaurants. Hands down the worst soups here. Not one clam or even the slightest clam flavor. tried the New England clam chowder which just tasted like boiled carrots and celery and then went on to try their house red which was exactly the same but less appetizing. Boiled vegetables is all it is. I wouldn't even offer these as chowder....or even claim they have clams. Very disappointed ☹️
