“Soup of the day (pozole verde) came with a couple slices of sourdough and I was pleasantly surprised. I hate when sourdough is thick and tough where the crush scrapes up the top of your mouth. Jeannine’s sourdough was cut thick, but when I took a bite, it was super fluffy like a fresh focaccia and the quick char was perfectly executed. The pozole was delicious, however I did find the last few slurps to be a tad overly salty. Should’ve saved some of the bread to soak up the final drops. I also ordered a mango, pineapple, orange juice smoothie which was refreshing and yummy. Highly recommend this place and the staff were very friendly.“

The only thing I was disappointed about was the outdoor seating. I was not aware that the “outdoor patio” was actually an enclosed patio. When I read “outdoor patio,” I specifically expected to be seated outside, not inside on an enclosed patio. I just wish that had been made clearer when making the reservation.“

“I had dinner here with my wife, who is vegetarian, and this restaurant absolutely exceeded our expectations! I always thought fine dining vegetarian dishes would be just another standard vegetarian option, but the zucchini farro she had tonight was incredible. Honestly, it was so good that it was even better than my duck dish!

The plating was beautiful, and the service was top-notch as well. Everything was well executed, and you can really appreciate the thought and effort that goes into the food.

“We were visiting Santa Barbara for three nights from San Jose and were honestly shocked when we came across this Indian restaurant with 4.9 stars on Google Maps. We decided to give it a shot with no expectations, and it turned out to be one of the most authentic and best Indian food experiences I have ever had in the United States. Hands down.

The first time, we tried the Tandoori Paneer Tikka and Malai Kofta, and both were extremely delicious. The garlic naan was so soft and fresh. They also gave us kheer as a complimentary dessert, which was such a kind gesture from Jogan and the entire staff.

The service was quick, and everyone was genuinely friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we couldn’t resist going back for a second time during our three night stay.

The second time, we tried Shahi Paneer, Yellow Dal Tadka with rice, and salted lassi. Once again, they surprised us with complimentary kheer. The Shahi Paneer was rich, creamy, and absolutely hit the spot. The naan was incredibly soft, and the Yellow Dal Tadka was probably my favorite. It was a much simpler preparation with just the right amount of spices, but the flavor was spot on.

The staff here is genuinely welcoming and friendly, and the food is clearly made with care. We would absolutely come back here the next time we are in Santa Barbara.

Parking is also very easy. There is a public parking lot right behind the restaurant and another one across the street. The City of Santa Barbara parking gives you the first 75 minutes free, and after that it is $3 per hour, which makes dining here even more convenient.

“Brophy Bros. was an outstanding experience. I sat at the bar overlooking the harbor and met Michael, the bartender, who told me this has been his “office” for the past 27 years. And what an office it is. From my seat, I was looking out at boats docked in the harbor, the waterway, and the beautiful Santa Barbara mountains in the distance. I’ve traveled to many places around the world, and this is by far one of the best “offices” I’ve ever visited. Michael made the experience even better with great conversation and hospitality. I originally came hoping to try the clam chowder, but learned that it contains bacon, which I don’t eat, so I went with the fish and chips instead. They were very good.

Great food, a memorable bartender, and one incredible view. Brophy Bros. is definitely a place I’ll return to when I’m back in Santa Barbara and looking forward to seeing Michael in his office again“

“Hands down the best Chinese food I've had in the Santa Barbara / Goleta area, maybe best I've had period.

The staff is friendly and helpful. We had Patrick as our server, he was able to help narrow down what we wanted and to make modifications to our meal like having them put the sauce on the side when it's normally cooked in the sauce. We had a lot of questions and Patrick was able to answer them all without making us feel dumb or like a burden. The staff as a whole helped to make the environment very welcoming and makes us want to go back.

The food is very good, as said earlier is some of the best I've had in general. One of my favorite dishes is Honey Walnut Shrimp, this is 100% the best version I've had anywhere, full of flavor while keeping it's crispy texture. Their Yang Chow Fried Rice is a must order, it has lots of flavor without being overwhelming. The Smoked Pork Ribs were falling off of the bone as we ate it, full of flavor with a little bit of kick. All of the food we had tasted and looked great.

I would recommend this to anyone looking for Chinese food.“
