“I have only good things to say about China Palace. It is located by itself in the Lower Village so it's easy to forget it's there. Our lunch was excellent. Mooshu chicken, mooshu duck and hot and sour soup. Prices are very reasonable. Service was friendly. Drive right up and park.“

“This restaurant deserves 3 Michelin stars (based on my experience with Michelin rated restaurants, starting with Paul Bocuse in Lyon, Le Bernadin in NYC, and Le Pre Catelan in Paris). From the oceanside table, the Chef’s Tasting Menu, the Reserve Wine Pairing, to the wonderful conversations with the Chef, expert Sommeliers (with the most impressive wine list I have ever seen globally), highly knowledgeable and warm, caring, restaurant staff, everything was perfect for my birthday celebration with my wonderful wife!“

“We were visiting Santa Barbara for three nights from San Jose and were honestly shocked when we came across this Indian restaurant with 4.9 stars on Google Maps. We decided to give it a shot with no expectations, and it turned out to be one of the most authentic and best Indian food experiences I have ever had in the United States. Hands down.
The first time, we tried the Tandoori Paneer Tikka and Malai Kofta, and both were extremely delicious. The garlic naan was so soft and fresh. They also gave us kheer as a complimentary dessert, which was such a kind gesture from Jogan and the entire staff.
The service was quick, and everyone was genuinely friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we couldn’t resist going back for a second time during our three night stay.
The second time, we tried Shahi Paneer, Yellow Dal Tadka with rice, and salted lassi. Once again, they surprised us with complimentary kheer. The Shahi Paneer was rich, creamy, and absolutely hit the spot. The naan was incredibly soft, and the Yellow Dal Tadka was probably my favorite. It was a much simpler preparation with just the right amount of spices, but the flavor was spot on.
The staff here is genuinely welcoming and friendly, and the food is clearly made with care. We would absolutely come back here the next time we are in Santa Barbara.
Parking is also very easy. There is a public parking lot right behind the restaurant and another one across the street. The City of Santa Barbara parking gives you the first 75 minutes free, and after that it is $3 per hour, which makes dining here even more convenient.
Highly, highly recommended. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back!“

“The pan-seared peppercorn-crusted filet mignon with potatoes au gratin and sautéed asparagus were as good as I've had anywhere. Thick, small and perfectly cooked medium-rare. And the thinly-sliced tomato salad was the perfect starter. We brought our own wine, but their in-house selection is outstanding. The staff were all extremely courteous and helpful. Our waiter, Dominic, was professional and attentive, and we never felt rushed. We enjoyed a two and a half hour anniversary dinner in a lovely outdoor setting and will definitely revisit when we're back in Santa Barbara! Thanks to everyone at Bouchon for a very special evening.“

“Really enjoyed our meal here! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. The sweet and sour pork was crispy, tender, and had a nice balance of sweet and tangy flavors. The sesame balls were crispy outside and chewy inside. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the restaurant had a clean, comfortable atmosphere. Definitely a great place for a casual meal with family or friends. I’ll be back!“

“Great food, seafood really fresh. Very good service. My pasta was very good. It was very crowded and had a long waiting time, but because we were really in a rush, they let us in earlier. One thing - for me, it was way too loud. And no restrooms inside. But other than that - a very good place to eat“

“Maiz Picante catered our wedding recently and did a phenomenal job! Not only were they professional, but the food was outstanding. We got nonstop praises about the food and service. I will definitely be using them again when we have another event. Otherwise, I try and support them whenever we are in town. They are friendly, professional, and know their food!“

“Food was great! We tried the sweet breads- my favorite, lobster gnocchi-daughters fave, ramen-good, scallops-super lite and fresh, and the catch of the day-very tasty. The amazing menu doesn’t necessarily lend itself to picky kid eaters (my son) but he loved the catch of the day with the sauce on the side. The food took a while as they were pretty busy so the manager comp’d 2 desserts which were both spectacular! We will be back!!“

“Amazing! They fixed a lunch dish that was vegetarian on the menu, but was glad to add chicken for me. Zucchini, onions, mushrooms over pasta with olive oil base. One of the best dishes I have ever eaten. Thank You so much, and will definitely recommend to friends traveling to Santa Barbara! Will be back with my family when we return for sure!“

“I logged in and happened to notice that this place had a 4.3 rating, and I thought to myself how absurd that is. This restaurant is nothing short of wonderful - from the location, to the ingredients, to the drinks/vibe. Also sneaky has some of the best desserts in Santa Barbara (that Pavlova!). Compliments to the owners for keeping up the quality and experience for over a decade.“

“Had an absolutely fantastic dinner at Siam Street Food while in Santa Barbara.
I’ve traveled to Thailand and have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants throughout LA and Orange County, so I have a pretty good frame of reference. The food here was excellent across the board. We ordered the Pad See Ew, Spicy Basil, Tom Yum Soup, Mango Sticky Rice, and Thai Tea. Every dish was packed with flavor and tasted fresh and authentic. The Thai tea was especially good because it wasn’t overly sweet, which is how I prefer it.
What stood out just as much as the food was the hospitality. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our server, April, was so sweet and took great care of us throughout the meal.
They were kind enough to comp the Thai tea after hearing my compliments, but honestly, I had already planned on leaving a review before they even brought it up. Great food and great service deserve recognition.
Also, sorry that the only picture I have is of the mango sticky rice. I was too busy enjoying the rest of the meal to stop and take photos, which probably tells you everything you need to know.
Looking forward to coming back the next time I’m in Santa Barbara.“

“Probably one of the best places to go if you’re craving fish. Every piece of fish is infused with butter, so everything is incredibly rich and flavorful. That said, I wouldn’t bother with the daily specials — honestly, I think the fish on the regular menu is cheaper and more classic.
The sides are somehow even better than the fish itself. And you absolutely have to try the grilled oysters. They were phenomenal — genuinely the best oysters I’ve ever had in my life.
The one downside is that the drinks are not very good.
As for the service, it really depends on your luck. I’ve had some absolutely wonderful servers who took the time to walk us through the dessert menu and recommend different fish. But I’ve also encountered servers who are noticeably ruder to nonwhite customers. So, the experience can be very hit or miss.“

“Some of the freshest, best tasting Thai food I have had in a nice, family owned restaurant in Carpinteria. Better than places in NYC and downtown LA. Good size portions, great prices for the quality of food, and great service. Tonight was Prik King Beef and Laos style Khao Soi..but every dish has been 10/10 each visit!“
