“I guess I have a new favorite Thai place in town. the staff and provider I work for talked about how good this place is and I wanted to give it a try. I love it! food could be a little bit more spicy but it is so good. It does not feel heavy or anything. Just tasty and amazing. I had their lunch special yellow curry and it was really good. great portion and tasty food. will definitely return here.“

“OMG what an amazing restaurant and experience. The owner Parfait welcomes you and makes you feel so welcome that you leave feeling as a you are departing from a dear friend's house. The food was so above and beyond! We started with the Canard Pate and a French wine. I have not had that wonderful a pate since my time in France. The Barrel 33 Salad was just what I love with nuts, fruit and vinegarette. We both had pasta. I had the Russian Penne and my wife had the White and Blue Penne. Both were great with a lot of flavor layers. The pasta was cooked perfectly. To finish we had the Petite Fantasy. Chocolate overload in the best way possible. What was great was that we were joking with Parait about my wife's love for whipped cream. 5 mins later after the dessert, he brought her a bowl of whipped cream, just for her! Very nice! Overall, there is no substitute for quality and Parfait and the Barrel 33 restaurant are the best quality! Oh and the French music was cool too!“

“Absolutely the best Thai food I've ever had in the states. Perfectly sized menu to keep everything homemade and fresh. The spring rolls were almost too beautiful to eat but I'm very glad I did, outstandingly fresh. My yum woo sen was incredible, I was so full but I couldn't stop eating it! I tried my friends hot and sour soup, so perfectly balanced. I told the owner that I like things incredibly spicy, she brought me over Thai fire sauce that she makes, I will be buying this in bulk when she bottles it. It's small and quaint but I think it's perfect size to keep the attention on authenticity, service and quality. I will frequent often.“

“Is this Ojai's best kept secret?! As I was walking my weekend route around Libbey Park, I ventured off and slipped into this local joint. At first glance it appears to be a high-end liquor store with thousands of bottles laid out nicely. Towards the back of the place I discovered a terrific bar/restaurant! To start, the ambiance of the place was very mellow and quiet, once you step in the back it's like being cut off from the retail portion and it was a surprisingly open space. It's almost the perfect combination for lunch time. The service was very helpful all around, from the man in the front who had liquor recommendations, to the staff in the back who assisted me in ordering a sandwich that is on my top 10 list! Now on to the food! I did not know what I was expecting but it is almost as if they took the best qualities of the counties American style cuisine and put them in their meals. I had the Cubano, the strawberry habanero wings, and the fiery choke which is their take on fried artichokes. For someone who eats vegetables like a 5 year old, I could get behind this. The seasoning alone took me aback, it was spicy but not too much with a hint of sweetness, but pairing it with their aioli was fantastic. The wings were unique but lacked a little bit of crispiness, definitely was not as spicy as I thought, yet had an overly sweet and tangy taste. Finally, the piece de resistance, the Cuban which made my top 10 list. It is not very common to taste every individual flavor in a sandwich but this one hit the every note. The braised pork was so tender and melted in your mouth which added a bit of tanginess to the honey cured ham sitting right underneath. Added with roasted garlic & Swiss, it enhanced the savoriness of the sandwich Also beer lovers, they have a lot of great beers on tap and in the cold box :) I will be coming back for more! (keep in mind parking is limited so take a walk and enjoy Ojai)“

“We started our honeymoon off by having breakfast here, and we were so glad we found this place, because everything all the way down to the preserves was made homemade. Nothing compares to homemade.“

I will recommend making a reservation if you have a larger party, as our party of 10 had to wait about an hour and a half because it was Mother's Day. If you've never been here before, make sure to try the tequila lime shrimp pasta as that is my go to normally“

“Amazing authentic Indian Desi food!! The best Indian food I have had so far in California was from here. The chicken korma was creamy spicy and yummy! Finger licking. The lassi was great. Naan and Thali with tandoori chicken was perfect. The naan bread was freshly made. The chicken was of high quality. They gave us free coupons for the next visit and also complimentary Aloo tiki and dessert. I highly recommend this place. 10 out of 10.“

“the man who helped me is awesome!!! i placed a pickup order through a third party app and he didn't see it until i came to pick it up, but he made it super fast and was just nice and pleasant all around. the food was delicious!!!! i got a kafta wrap with the works, im not usually a tomato gal but the veg was chopped up so finely i could hardly tell. there was also some pickles, i think cucumber and some pink radish or maybe turnips, so yummy!! i got some extra garlic sauce on the side and wowza the portion was huge lol. i'll probably put it on everything i eat for a days, it was amazing!! the prices were great too. will absolutely be back to try the falafel next!!!“

“I actually met Sam, the owner of the place!!! Normally, the Sams I've met, suck. I'm specifically referring to Uncle Sam. He's coming for my money and dignity! But that's another story... I went here for a drink and to hear the live music. I tried the "A league of its own," which included house infused apricot vodka, apricot, and lemon." Delicious. They also service food, which I didn't try, but they serve a vegetarian chili. I mean, I had Sam repeat that it was vegetarian twice just to understand. A vegetarian chili. A certain waiter can do with better customer service but after that, he serviced our table fine. This is not your average Chinese spot, so come in with a hearty appetite. Food here is one of a kind in Ventura County, that's for sure! Loved their dry sautéed eggplant and chong Qing spicy chicken. Note that they close from 3pm-4:30pm“

“I've been meaning to write this review forever! Everytime we stop in or bring out of town guests for the tour, we're blown away by the humans of Ventura Spirits. The knowledge, love, pride, and dedication to sourcing local ingredients and finding new ways to use them really makes this place a gem in our community. Their liquid offerings are wonderful and unique too! (Currently loving the blueberry Pineau Bleu and the Pixie-Cello!) I've done the tour several times and have learned something new each time. . Special shout-out to Brad- I had a friend visiting one Sunday and we were the only two signed up for the tour/tasting, and he did the whole thing anyway for just us! (Also totally cool with my easy-going baby coming along with us! ?) We had sooo much fun that afternoon and really appreciated him. Stop in sometime and check them out!“

“Oh! I love DV's! Go for Taco Tuesdays! I love their Bean & Cheese burritos. Don't ask me why. Nostalgia? Dreams of childhood? Perhaps. But they are really really good. I've been here about seven or eight times each time I try some thing new all of the food here is really great and I highly recommend coming in. They have a big restaurant and their food is delicious and it's great for parties too. They have a large menu and it is really great to eat here. It's nice. It's quiet and it's clean, very roomy. It's so much better quality food than the restaurant that used to be here. Check them out.“

“In my top 3 sushi places in ventura (Seaward sushi, Banzai Marina, and now Koba sushi). This restaurant is a smaller place that is cozy and inviting. It's a more traditional sushi restaurant that serves the freshest sushi! The staff was very nice and friendly. The place was spotless and pleasant to be in. And the food was delicious! It is pricey bit worth it. Would highly recommend to anyone that wants quality sushi (and sake)!“

“This is a great neighborhood craft brewery to stop by when in downtown Ventura. We love the rotating selection of beers ( many times offering a sour as well). We enjoy the relaxed vibe; indoor and outdoor seating, along with the friendly staff to help with beer selections. There are often food trucks ( the schedule is in their website). We especially love when the taco truck is there on the weekends.“

They wait on you as soon as you get in they are so nice it’s clean services top-of-the-line, and the food is more than top-of-the-line. Any food is via a food truck or grill just off the patio. I ordered a single smash burger with cheese, grilled onions and pickles. Nice! All the people were great. First time here, and they guided me to a delicious IPA with some kick, called the Huckster. Found out about this place because of their comedy night. Every 2nd Tuesday of the month. James Frey leads and MCs the rotating lineup of 4-5 comics. Tonight's group included Erica Rhodes, who I adore. The placed was packed just before showtime. Really fun night. Looking forward to next month!“

“4.7 stars is selling this place short! This is hands down the best most authentic Mexican food I have had in a long time. The food was so flavorful. I had a shrimp burrito and my wife had the combo plate with cheese enchilada, taco, and chili relleno. The chips and salsa didn't stop and one of the guys came by and asked if we liked spicy salsa.... yes please. He brought us a habanero salsa that was not just straight fire. It had so much flavor. Keep making that for sure! The beer comes in an ice cold glass. Oh and you want atmosphere .... this place treats you like family. Watching the locals come and go as we ate dinner, definitely tells me this place is good. The staff is so friendly. The prices are great for the quality and quantity of food you get. It's a shame this place is over 5 hours from my house. With what they got going here I'm sure they will be here next time I'm in town. If you are not a local (like me) and you are looking for THE Mexican food place, come here. Just don't drive fast, I missed the entrance and had come back around. There is limited street parking but way more parking behind the restaurant in the alley. Have a great meal!!Vegetarian options: Want to sub something non meat in your taco... get the potatoes!!!
