“What a great experience! I was visiting Santa Barbara in July and stopped into Longoria's tasting room on a whim. Brent immediately welcomed me and made me feel right at home.

I'm definitely more of a wine novice, but Brent has an incredible depth of knowledge and explained everything in a way that was approachable and engaging—never pretentious or intimidating. It made the tasting so much more enjoyable, and I left feeling like I had actually learned something.

The wines were outstanding. If I hadn't been flying home, I honestly would have bought a case to take with me.

The tasting room itself is also fantastic. It's family-friendly, has a wonderfully air-conditioned indoor space (which was much appreciated in July), and a beautiful outdoor patio that's the perfect spot to relax—especially during Fiesta.

I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Santa Barbara. Highly recommend!“

When I say I had the most amazing experience, I feel like I’m missing the mark.
I was on my way home from taking my WSET III exam and encountered SB traffic. Wanted to cry. Almost did.

“I did my book launch at Jamie Sloan wines, it was the absolute perfect place for a private event and a gathering of friends. Jamie and Kim were incredible hosts, and all the wines for the event were so delicious. Kim went out of her way to help me setup (I was running later than scheduled) and Jamie is the ultimate host who makes everyone feel at home. I couldn’t ask for a better way to send my book out into the world! 📖

“Tyler X Lieu Dit was full of surprises on my visit and enough to keep me coming back! The first pour was a sparkling wine. Tyler, Perpetual Reserve, Mae estate vineyard, Santa Rita Hills. It’s bright, effervescent and crisp.

Then came the food. To start the Kale Caesar. Not many people care for kale because it tends to be too rough to digest. Not this one! It’s perfectly massaged to break down the fibers making it easy to eat and enjoyable because of the explosion of flavors. The combination of parm, anchovies, roasted pine nuts, and citrus give this salad a bright, fresh flavor. I especially loved the riviera bread accompanied with it. Toasty and buttery.

The seasonal crudo is silky slices of prestine fish sourced locally. Accented with citrus and sea salt. Clean flavors and pure simplicity. Literally melted in my mouth.

For mains, a beautiful bowl of fresh mussels. I can honestly say these mussels prepared by chef Bane are the best I’ve ever had! Perfectly steamed and not chewy at all. Served in a savory rich buttery broth. Mussels done right!

The slow braised beef cheeks blew me away! Served with pomme purée, pan seared broccolini, carrots, jus and local aromatics. The meat so tender and flavorful. Order it and thank me later.

The seasonal cassoulet is made with Mary’s chicken which happens to be my favorite. A slow-braised chicken leg so juicy and tender. Accompanied by motley-cru sausage, wolfe farm mushrooms, cannellini beans and citrus. The flavors are comforting, satisfying and just an all round explosion of delicious flavors in each bite.

The wines here are the perfect accompaniment to each dish. The Sparkling to start and Chardonnay, and Ad Ripa Cabernet Sauvignon RSW all pleasing to the pallet.

“Busy Memorial Day weekend - but of all the wine tasting rooms we visited in the Funk Zone, Erica and Ashton at The Valley Project were the best! They took the time to explain the wines of course, but also were fun and engaging in conversation. The whole place just had a great vibe. Also, they have two very different flights to choose from. Highly recommend!“

Seating is available inside and in the courtyard they share with the brewery next door.“
