A Tribute to Grace Wine Company Winery •
490 Bell St Unit 5, Los Alamos

“So glad we made the trip to this tasting room! Joaquin was our host and he is probably the most knowledgeable person I've ever talked to in a tasting room! We love Grenache so this winery's wines were perfect for us to try. We sampled a sparkling, a Grenache blanc, a rosé, and several traditional Grenaches. I wasn't a huge fan of the rosé but enjoyed all the others. We ended up buying 2 bottles of Grenache blanc and 6 bottles of Grenache. We probably spent 90 minutes with Joaquin and it was like a private tasting since there was only one other couple there. Any question you had about wine, the process, geography, the winemaker's history, etc., he knew it! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. Looking forward to enjoying the wine at home but will 100% be back to this fantastic winery!“

Lumen Wines Winery •
458 Bell St, Los Alamos

“Wow! What a memorable meal--everything from the ambience to the impeccable service to the great Lumen wines to the amazing food--was spot on! Pico has a new chef who learned from Thomas Keller, among other noted chef, and he is really something. Chef Cameron Ingle is bringing an A-game to the restaurant. My wine tasting group asked for a dinner for 29 people and Pico knocked it out of the park. We had the succulent mussels as the first course with local-farm grown salad, and blue corn bread made from local corn ground in--house, paired with both the lovely Lumen chardonnay and Lumen pinot. The entree was the melt-in-your-mouth boneless short rib with a crunchy gremolata topping and delicious sauce, served with the best patatas bravas any of had ever had, paired with the Julia's vineyard pinot and grenache. Dessert was persimmons picked that day from Pico's trees and served with house-made creme fraiche, paired with the Lumen pinot gris. It sound simple but it was the perfect finale to an extraordinary meal. Everyone raved about the food, wine and the wonderful setting. Proprietors Will and Kali have found a gem in the chef. Can't wait to get back and try more of his food!“

Lo-Fi Wines Winery • $$
448 Bell St, Los Alamos

“We had the best experience in this tasting room! Lo-fi definitely makes some of the best wine in the natural wine game. It actually tastes like wine! I feel like the natural wine movement that has really taken off is so great because people are catching on about how dirty wine can be made - EXCEPT there is nothing worse than buying a natural bottle based on a cool label, only to open it and find the wine inside is SO FUNKY that it's hard to drink. That is never the case with Lo-fi wines. They are actually just delicious wine that is made clean. Definitely on of favorite natural wine producers. If you are in the area, the tasting room is so great and the guy we sat and chatted with was so cool and knowledgeable. 10/10 stars.“

Native9 Wine (Tasting by Appt.) Winery •
6525 Dominion Rd, Santa Maria - 7.5 miles

“On a sun-drenched day in February, we stood with Wes Hagen in the vineyards and soaked in the beauty of the Santa Maria hillside. After our vineyard trek, we sat in the recent homestead of James Ontiveros and tasted some very special Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and yes, even some Cabs from Native 9 / Ranchos de Ontiveros.I can’t imagine a better way to enjoy your day than spending it with Wes, along with a glass of wine, while he shares the rich and storied history of Santa Barbara wine country. His knowledge of the surrounding soils and terroir completely elevated the tasting for us.Carve out some time for your own deep-dive into the wonderful world of Native 9 / Ranchos de Ontiveros wines; it’s worth the trip!“

Buscador Winery & Tasting Room Winery • $$
140 Industrial Way, Buellton - 10.13 miles

“What an amazing winery. Had a great wine tasting here with the wine maker, Matt, who we really enjoyed talking with. Did a tasting for $25, and tasting fee is waived with a purchase of $40 or more (love when wineries do that). Loved a lot of the wines, but my favorite was the cab franc, so got a bottle of that, and bottles of a couple of white wines. Really cool decor and setting outside, and in - we opted for inside since it was in the low 50s. Definitely recommend and looking forward to coming back next time we're in town!“

“Reasonable tasting price at $25 for 6 delicious wines. There are 2 Foxen tasting rooms that are next to each other, they pour different wines. We chose the Shack tasting location which is focus on France and Italian varieties. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our visit. We'll be back.“

Presqu'ile Winery Winery •
5391 Presquile Dr, Santa Maria - 9.21 miles

“The chef creating the mezze picnic and specials at this place was so impressive on top of amazing views of the valley and hills, gorgeous architecture and fantastic rosé, syrahs and pinots. We ordered the special gallette made from locally sourced ingredients and the mezze picnic and the ingredients the chef put together was hard to decribe but so satisfying and delicious. Must go, but also reservation is important it gets busy. Side note they allow leashed dogs. Beautiful grounds.“

“We were amazed at Roark's wines.. we loved this tempranillo and pocket full of rocks. We served this wine to our best of friends who could not stop drinking it last night. They have traveled the world and tasted many great wines, so their approval means a lot. Wished the bottle didn't run out. You should plan a visit when you are in the area. Kelly and Tiane Kennedy“

Demetria Estate & Vineyards Wineries • $$
6701 Foxen Canyon Rd, Los Olivos - 7.69 miles

“This was our first time going wine tasting in Los Olivos, and Demetria Estate came highly recommended. It is absolutely beautiful here, and the perfect place for a relaxing wine tasting! You get to sit outside, and you have a magnificent view of the estate grounds. Delicious wine, fresh air, and lovely surroundings - what could be better? They also allow you to bring in outside food, so you can bring in your own snacks or meal to enjoy while drinking your wine. It was super busy when we were there, and they only had one person working. Definitely could've used more staff, but he made it work and was still super friendly while doing it. The wine here was excellent. Really enjoyed the Syrah. Definitely recommend making reservations, especially if you have a larger party. The last 2 miles to the winery is essentially a one-car road that goes both ways, so just make sure you drive carefully. A great choice for a highly-enjoyable wine tasting.“

Dragonette Cellars Winery •
55 Los Padres Way, Buellton - 9.66 miles

“We scheduled a private tasting at Dragonette's production facility in Buellton. This was my first time trying their wines, and I have to say that I was really impressed with the quality of the wines we tasted. The Sauvignon Blanc is absolutely amazing and the Chardonnay is really fantastic as well. We also tried an exceptional Pinot Noir, a Syrah and a Syrah Reserve. Not only the wines are fine quality and exceptionally made, the prices are reasonable and our tasting experience was fantastic thanks to Nick, who led us through the Draconette wine journey. We had the best time and even joined their wine club. I recommend you give them a try and judge for yourself. I don't think you will be disappointed. This review is for a private tasting at the winery's production facility, but they also have a tasting room in Los Olivos, which might be easier to visit. However, if you are looking for a personalized ', more private experience, book a tasting room at their Buellton's production facility.“
