“If you're into sipping wine with a view, you gotta check out Stillwater, their patio is the real deal with stunning vineyard views.Once we sat down, we were served with complimentary olives and crackers. They grow their own olives and they're super delicious but too bad they don't sell them.We were told that post-covid, they used to host weddings now they are hosting music events instead. We tried their blanc, grenache, merlot, and blend and we were impressed with the wines. We ended up getting a few bottles of their rose, white, and red to take home. Stillwater is one of the best spots for wine tasting. Super chill vibe, awesome wine, and that view is definitely worth a visit! It's dog-friendly and our dog loves this winery too!“

Caliza Winery Winery • $$$

“Wonderful winery. Very relaxed. Great ambiance. Absolutely delicious wines. Morrey, our server was great. Ambiance. Beautiful tasting room. Not mammoth. Sitting outside and doing our tasting was great. As a side note, they had no problem that we had brought some items to gnosh on while tasting. Service. Morrey was our server. Just a wonderful man. He has helped us both times that we were here. He is very knowledgeable in talking about the wine, and the winemaker's vision. He did this in a way that was informative and not condescending. Such a nice man. Wines. Ok. Here is where they shine. They produce Rhône varietals. We started with a Rose', and then we tasted a very complex Roussane. We then tasted Cohort, which was a Petite Syrah, Syrah and Mouvedre blend. Next was the Syrah. Absolutely amazing. We then tasted Companion. This is a Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petite Verdot blend. Again, delicious. Here's the problem. All were delicious. It's in trying to limit how much that you are going to buy. In summation, this is a must visit stop if you enjoy Rhône Varietals.“

“Stopped here with a large family group on Sunday. Even though they were busy, our waiter, Gabriel was right there to see if we had any questions about the menu and who was wine tasting. My husband and I had already had lunch, so we just did the tasting menu. The lunches everyone ordered looked delicious and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed their food. The only disappointment was some of the wines. The first two on the tasting menu, the Pinot Noir and the 1st Merlot were very good. Nose and palate were delightful....and then we came to the second Merlot. Very acidic, not smooth and soft like the first one. We actually all poured it out. I had hopes for the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Petit Syrah, but they were both also very high in acidity and just not drinkable for us. Again, we all pretty much poured out the last three. I still wanted to give them 5 stars based on our great server, Gabriel; the delicious food and the very comfortable atmosphere.“

“We had a lovely anniversary at the vineyard. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. The grounds were beautiful and we had a lot of fun exploring the area. The owner himself spent a lot of time talking with us, giving us the history of the vineyard, and sharing stories with us. It had such a homey feel and the wine was pretty good as well! Desparada Wines Wineries • $$

“We had a great time here thanks to Charlotte. It was a rainy Thursday before Christmas, so it wasn't busy and Charlotte was able to spend a lot of time with my wife and me to go into more detail about the winery, the wines, and Paso Robles in general as this was our first time in the region. She also made an effort to keep our little one entertained by showing him their books and pet turtle. The wines are excellent too :) Out of three tasting rooms' worth of wine on the day, Sackcloth & Ashes was my wife's top wine of the day. She's also not a Chardonnay fan, but she really liked Wayfinder. My favorite was the Carmen Sauvignon Blanc. It's unlikely any Sauvignon Blanc I've had before and I enjoyed the different expression. It was a riper fruit profile, but still lots of acid to keep it interesting. Thank you Charlotte for a memorable experience!“

CONCUR Wines Winery •
2945 Limestone Way, Paso Robles - 6.11 miles

“My wife and I had no idea "Tin City" even existed, but it's cool! Great place for one stop all day wine tasting. The GEM of Tin City is Concur! Patrick was an incredible host (and owner). He made my wife, daughter, dog, and myself feel very comfortable and welcome. They even had coloring books and puzzles for my daughter! She had a blast. Now, the wines. It's VERY seldom that I enjoy every wine at a tasting, but chalk that up to a very surprising first. Don't get me wrong, I liked some more than others, but they were all good. The stars of the show, in my humble opinion, the chardonnay and the red blend. WOW! Rare for me to enjoy a white as much as this. All of their wines finished so smoothly. Impressive wine making. Their bottles are not the cheapest but worth the price. Good wine isn't cheap, cheap wine isn't usually good. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a tasting. You will be glad you did. Thank you, Patrick, we will be back.“

“Hidden gem of a tasting room in the heart of Paso RoblesIf you're walking on the sidewalks, you will miss this one unless you keep a sharp eye for signs pointing to it. This wineries tasting room is a small but cozy room with the entrance opening on a parking area. Next door to Jeffrey s Wine Country BBQ.The counter service here is friendly and informative. Their tasting flight makes it really difficult to pick just one varietal. I bought five bottles, this being the only white wine. I never buy white wine or rosé. This one changed all that.Their Rozanne Pinot Noir Rosé is the only white wine I will drink. I bought only one bottle of that to bring home and four others of their traditional Pinot Noirs that I tasted and really enjoyed! I will update this post once I open those bottles.I have checked at another large chain here that sells wine and more. They don't carry it so it looks like a road trip is in order to restock on the Rosé. I might need to sign up for the wine club on this one. ?. Ship it to me, please and thank you!“

“Wine tasting with the vintner John was a service and tour de force of knowledge, insight, and stories about wine making, microclimates, and agriculture. Aaron Wines Winery •
3050 Limestone Way, Paso Robles - 6.1 miles

“Really the question is why wouldn't you stop here? We came on a Sunday afternoon last minute after reading other reviews on Yelp regarding this great spot. It proved to be perfect. Gibson was amazing. We enjoyed wine tasting outside on the patio. Brought our own bread and olive oil from another local place (separate review) and began the journey through Aaron and the style of wine he creates. Gibson was friendly, knowledgeable and a great host. He conveyed the path taken in the creation of these wines and answered all our questions seamlessly. I felt at times as if we were talking to the wine maker himself because he was so knowledgeable. We enjoyed and purchased a few bottles and one of us became a wine club member. The patio was dog friendly and covered. Sometimes these places can be stuffy, not this place. Down to earth people sharing a down to earth wine. So I ask again why wouldn't you stop here? There really is no reason.“

“Incredible wines, even more incredible staff! Seven Oxen was our first winery stop and Nancy absolutely blew us away with her knowledge and welcoming demeanor. She took her time explaining the wines to us and educating us about the winemaking process so we could really appreciate each pour. The wines themselves are more delicate than a lot of other Paso wines which I loved. We also got to try some older vintages and unusual varieties which was so fun! We left with a couple bottles and a new wine club membership. So excited to come back again and again!“

“Family run winery making good wine and lots of friends. We have visited twice and had a great experience both times. Our favorite wines have been the Syrah and Malbec. Each time we were there they had cheese out to enjoy with the tasting. We don't know if they charge a tasting fee because we have not been charged for one but we do buy wine when we visit. The place is a little out of the way but worth the journey. Sarzotti is a 5 star destination for wine.“

“So glad we were able to taste at Clesi wines! We went home with half a case and our friend joined their club (even though she swore she wasn't joining any other wine clubs!). Adrienne and Chris, the owners and winemakers, were super friendly and knowledgeable. We had the standard tasting and a little more, as we inquired about some wines that weren't on the tasting but either were open or they were willing to open them! Tannic, acidic, complex--perfection for the Cal-Italia style wines that Jim G. and I love! We also had a great time playing with McCoy, their super energetic and friendly dog.
