We visited Cairjn for the first time, and were very pleased with the wine. All of the varietals have the depth and complexity that only a skilled and dedicated winemaker could create.
Our host Victor was very friendly and knowledgeable and made our visit very pleasant. Will definitely be coming back.“
“Decided on a last minute whim to drive into Paso Robles for a wine tasting. Booked an 11am reservation the morning of. The service we received from Melissa was warm and personal. Weather…perfect! The wine was delightful. There was even a special surprise they sent us home with because we were celebrating our honeymoon. Out of the hundreds of wineries to choose from, we got lucky!!“

“We met Brenda, (hopefully I got the name right. 😆). We sat with her and tried their whiskey flight and the flight of their other hard liquors. They also offer wines. This place is amazing. They take the leftover grape skins to make the harder alcohol. Everything was delicious and I was impressed with their philosophy. We bought 2 bottles of their rye and a bottle of their lemoncello to take home. Along with their special blend to make old fashions with. Definitely a place to visit if you are visiting Paso Robles or the surrounding area.“

“We had a wonderful time on a Friday afternoon at this beautiful, quaint winery. We were given such a warm welcome with personalized menus and even our dog got a bandana and yummy treats! He was in heaven being there with us! These little touches are so special when you’re surrounded by wineries and have to decide where to spend your afternoon.
Bordeaux style wines are some of our favourite so we knew we were in for a treat. The wine is fabulous (our favourite was Limerick but I’d happily take all of them home). The friendly owners were on site and insisted we try another wine not on the list to compare which was a nice treat showcasing the right bank and left bank styles of Bordeaux. Everyone working made us feel comfortable and like we’ve been there many times before. Needless to say, we look forward to returning often!“

“One of the best vineyard tour experiences we have ever had. I highly recommend the UTV tour, tasting, and lunch. We had a fantastic time being driven around the vineyard, hearing about the history, and tasting some absolutely lovely wines. Their Mourvedre was our favorite. They do a great job with it and we will be ordering more of it. I lost the name of our guide, but he was fantastic. He does a lot for them as far as experiences go and he was awesome. Bravo!“

An absolute find to experience such quality wines and be guided by the winemaker himself, Denis Degher - who delighted us with his stories about vintages and also his esteemed career in the music industry.
If you want to break away from the big, flashy cellar doors and experience grass roots and quality wines - this is it!“
“Where do I start with Tealy and Greg? How about a funny story, that takes their family back to Southern California and Poway, where I grew up. Little did we know that we lived about 10 minutes apart, found this tidbit out a in 2025, while talking to Tealy, who makes the experience at Barr second to none!
This has been a favorite stop of my girlfriend, who has been a long time wine club member with Barr, from her days of driving limos for wine tasting, she always talked highly of their wines. Greg does excellent wine, across the board, from a simple Albarino to a more complex Cabernet Sauvignon or 6950 (Referring to the address of the winery), one of my favorites from Barr.
The club is wonderful, where there are no added yearly fees, just good wine and discounts on wines, complementary tasting and private tours. One of the few destinations I really enjoy visiting off 46 east. The tasting room is co-located with the production facility, as you drive up through winding vineyards onto the property. The tasting room has indoor and outdoor seating. A small, bar with additional couch seating is available, while there are various Barr related items for sale.
Behind the bar is where the magic is. The tasting lineup is very strong and if there are additional bottles open, you could receive a splash of something different. For me, it was the 2013 Grande Finale. Not a big dessert wine fan, but this excellent. I don't believe this is a single wine in our collection, since I've been introduced to Barr that is bad. The entire lineup is exceptional and there is usually something for everyone. for those cooks out there, I do recommend some of their olive oil. Devine!
As of this review, I know they are trying to retire... again from the wine industry, hopefully Greg and Teally hang around for a bit longer, they do an excellent job when it comes to wine in Paso Robles. Check them out, I highly recommend a tasting.“

“It's by the unmaned train station. Owner Sam and Takashi are wonderful! The wine tasting is super reaonable and wines beautifully made by Sam! It is just run by one person, but the service and hospitality is top notch! If you are in Paso Robles it is a must to visit. If taking the train at 4 15pm you should go 2 hrs early and enjoy the wines there. Really loved this place. Highly recommended!“

“What an amazing experience this has been! First we were welcomed by 2 lovely dogs, followed by the person in charge who made us feel welcome and comfortable from the start. She prepared our seats, explained all very well and also had so much knowledge about the wines and the area.
We had a tasting of 1 white wine, followed by 4 red wines. All of them so tasty and well balanced.

“I am a former winery owner and winemaker and I almost never join wine clubs. But when you love every wine on a flight, and the club is a great value, you just gotta do it. The tasting room is lovely. My group and I were served by Rachel, who was so friendly and helpful. They have lots of events that sound so fun. I can't wait to attend! One of my friends also signed up for the club. We got a chance to chat with the winemaker on the way out. Overall an exceptional experience and great wines“
“We had a wonderful tasting. Totally unexpected. I had a bottle of wine the night before and decided to do a tasting the next day. Phenomenal wines here. Small but there's a lot of attention to the details that go into a great tasting batch of wine. I'm a big fan of nearly all the reds here, the 2016 Malbec is a win. We ordered 6 bottles of the 2016 Chardonnay. We were lucky enough to have him let his beautiful great dames out for us to pet and wrap up our tasting with. Fantastic experience, in a wine region with 300+ wineries to choose from I'm really happy we ended our day here.“
“BLUE Ribbon Wine. The winemaker, Dorothy Schuler, is highly knowledgeable about the facts of fine Winemaking. She's brought a positive awareness to Spanish and currently Portuguese varietals. Culling from vineyards of the Central Coast (California) she has incorporated into her blend more obscure varietals such as Monastrell and Trousseau (most often used in fortified wines). The releases bring with them a great education, consistent taste and wonderful food pairing. Now offering their wines online, private tasting digital presentations and through wine club membership.“

The desert was crunchy, and the cheese filling worked amazingly with the pistachio.
We took the wine testing, and opaque darkness is the best one by far, it goes smooth, with deep flavors.“
