6 Best Wineries near Fresno

Ziveli Winery Wineries • $$
5840 N Biola Ave, Fresno

“My friend and I traveled to Fresno on Friday for a concert. Needing to leave early from Gilroy to avert traffic, we thought we would find a place to wine taste in Fresno. Now, Fresno is not a wine destination. We had issues finding a winery open during the week. We had already identified Ziveli but they were open by appointment only. Throwing caution to the wind and no one answering the phone, we took a chance and drove there. Upon arrival we met, Hunter, son of the owner. He said they were decorating for a wedding but called his father to see if they could accomodate us. Bingo: John, the owner agreed. We had a blast! John was super hosptitable, honest, funny and a great host. His son, Hunter, age 22, was helpful and very informative. They have a quaint tasting rooom and serve home made pizza on the week-end. (We purchased their Cab, 2019 and 2021...great value!) Oh, and they have some newer wines for release that sound very interesting. Guys: thank you so much for hosting us!! Last, if you pop by, give our best to the family dog Grigio!!! Great name!!“

Fresno State Winery Winery •
2360 E Barstow Ave, Fresno

“This winery is a local treasure! The wines are fabulous quality and they wholesale to our restaurant, Genas Sierra Inn and Restaurant, at great rates. The students who run operations do a fantastic job despite chasing classes at college. We attended a pickup party at the winery on 10/7/2023 which was a great event. Pours were very tasty and the charcuterie was on point.“

Moravia Wines & Event Venue Winery • $
3620 N Bishop Ave, Fresno

“My husband and I have been wine club members here for over 7 years now. We visited during a Fresno County Wine Trail weekend and just fell in love with the atmosphere and staff. This was before we had a child. One of our favorite features is that this winery is SO family-friendly. Our daughter has a blast on the playground. We come out almost every Friday night during the Summer because the entertainment is great and it tends to be cooler than in the city! My favorite wine is the Symphony. Our friends who tend to enjoy red wines like the bourbon barrel Cabernet.“

Engelmann Cellars Wineries • $$
3275 N Rolinda Ave, Fresno

“Engelmann Cellars is a must do in Fresno! They have an amazing selection of wine, beer, seltzers and non-alcoholic options to keep your thirst quenched all year long. The venue is just stunning!! It's one of the best spots in town to watch the sunset. The Friday night summer concerts are so much fun. There is ample room to get a great spot in the shade, so bring a chair or blanket and sit back and enjoy the tunes. There are always delicious eats at the great selection of food trucks. Sundays are family & pet friendly and there is plenty of room to run and play. Plan to bring food as there aren’t food trucks on Sunday. I highly recommend this place and can't wait for my next visit.“

Birdstone Winery Winery •
9400 Rd 36, Madera - 11.77 miles

“We love this secret hidden spot with great wine and a very chill, relaxed atmosphere. We enjoy taking a picnic blanket and letting the kids run around while mom and dad treat ourselves a little. Never too crowded and just right. Perfect if you want a quiet retreat with a lot of natural beauty and an enjoyably slower pace.“
