The Society: State & Mason Reviews
Wine tasting in a relax, low key, fun place. Excellent wines. Our server explained all the wines to us. We enjoyed the meat and cheese board. It was very relaxing and not rushed. The bathrooms are very clean. They had bottles for sale and a little shop. Pleasant atmosphere.
Such amazing people from the Sweet managers of Ashley to the kind servers of Amenda and Justin… this is such a great experience you need to go in for the Riviera reserve experience and enjoy the food and wine!
We had a great tasting with Conner. The atmosphere is lovely -- we could take our time tasting their fabulous wines. What a wonderful way to enjoy Santa Barbara!

The Society: State & Mason provides a welcoming street-side environment perfect for enjoying a wide selection of wines, whether by the flight or by the bottle. The friendly and knowledgeable staff, including Connor and Justin, enhance the experience by sharing their expertise and tailoring tastings to individual preferences. Guests often feel at home here, with service that is perfectly balanced—timely but not overbearing. The wine list features excellent options, including some new labels that are fun to explore when shopping for bottles to keep at home. Each pour presents an opportunity to learn more about the wines, with staff helping to preface each tasting and making the experience more enjoyable. The ambiance and decor create a great atmosphere for good company and people watching. The Society is owned by Foley, which has a large collection of wineries from Santa Ines Valley, Napa, Sonoma, and more, allowing for thoughtfully curated tasting flights. There is also a solid charcuterie board that comes highly recommended. Whether for a delightful afternoon or an educational wine experience, The Society is a place worth visiting for anyone who appreciates good wine and friendly service.
