“Great breakfast spot. Fried chicken Benedict is out of this world. Hash browns are always tasty, ask for them extra crispy. Their bloody Mary’s are pretty good as well.”
“Love this hole-in-wall!!! First timers from LA and will definitely be back when I’m in Santa Barbara / Goleta again. Yinh the owner is so warm and welcoming!! She treats you like family. Service was impeccable and the fish is out of this world. Quality is 11/10. Everything melts in your mouth and is full of flavor. Highly highly recommend this place.”
“The food here is amazing, the chips and salsa are to die for and the manager Lalo is really nice and will help you with anything and everything , he also makes the best pina colada”
“The ales were ok and the variety was fun to try. This is entirely outside sitting at tables and picnic tables with lights and propane heaters on cold days. Food is from a food truck parked here and that was great.Dietary restrictions: All the ales are gluten free”
“This is an M.Special place. ? Apologies for the Dad joke, but it's true.In the past few years, I’ve gotten to know most of the local brewers and many of their brews through work and pleasure. This town has a lot of good locally brewed beer, but I'm simply nuts about M.Special's Sabado Tarde. I lived in Isla Vista from high school through college, where this tangerine ale gets its name. It’s a street a block away from Del Playa, where I lived. I suspect it may be where some Millers and Malloys may have lived while attending UCSB. It may not be grammatically correct Spanish for “Saturday afternoon,” but it’s one of the smoothest-tasting lagers I’ve ever had.Josh, the brewer, has worked magic with a flavor that some refer to as a Blonde or Golden Ale. For me, that mostly refers to its color, not taste.[Gratuitous aside: While I’m generally upbeat, I’m not a hoppy person. I truly cannot drink IPAs. They have a very sour aftertaste my Irish palette can’t stand. Like or dislike of hops is a genetic marker. I must have a broken chromosome, as I’m definitely in the minority regarding the IPA rage these days. I felt it fair to duly confess that. I should also note that for the vast, hoppy-go-lucky majority who love a strong, hippity hoppity beer, M.Special makes a lot of good IPAs, and could probably advise commodity traders on grain futures.]Meanwhile, what’s irresistible about Sabado Tarde is that unlike Mexican lagers, which I also like (and M.Special does well), the aftertaste of this tangerine ale is not bitter. But it’s also not too sweet like some blondes (and brunettes) can be. As such, it’s really hard to stop drinking! One smooth sip after another––and suddenly––more than a few pints are sloshing happily around your belly. When I was not at M.Special, or other locales where it was on tap, I found myself buying cans to keep in the fridge at home. But as my love affair grew into what one might call an obsession, I began buying kegs from the Goleta location. The kegerator in my garage has never been in better spirits.Okay, you get the drift. It’s good beer. M.Special makes a lot of good beer. Their well-deserved motto is “Good Beer, Every Time.” And plenty of IPA is on tap for those seeking that kind of hoppiness. But the thing that never ceases to surprise me is that every time I go in there to trade an empty keg for a fresh, full one, there’s always a cluster of customers wearing M.Special hats and clothing. It’s like going to an NFL game and sitting in the home section where almost no one is wearing anything other than team logo apparel. It’s impressive. Clearly, there’s a fan base. The location in Goleta is definitely a destination. They don’t get their business from foot traffic, like the State Street location. The first time you go there, it’ll feel like your GPS is on the fritz as you drive past warehouses, corporate headquarters, and machine shops. But when you get there, it’s a fantastic spacious space. I’ve been there on nights when they have live bands and dancing outside, and you’ll never feel claustrophobic. Inside, they have one of the longest, most extraordinarily beautiful, natural wooden countertop bars I’ve ever seen. According to the website, local wood carving specialist John Birchim created the longest bar in SB County made from a single piece of fallen Monterey Pine from Big Sur.But even more beautiful than all of that is the staff. I wish I could remember everyone’s name, but even when they’re overwhelmed, these lovely people keep their cool, they smile and make you feel that this is your place. This is your corner bar, your pub down the road. Whether it’s Kennedy, or Madison, or Nolan, or John, or Michael, or Tori, it’s your team. You feel like they care and like their jobs.Perhaps that’s why so many customers keep returning wearing their shirts and hats.”
“Went here on a Sunday morning and it was packed! We were able to score a booth that had a table added to it to fit our party of 7.The jambalaya and eggs (with the side of cornbread) were amazing! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the dish overall had a nice little kick, but wasn't too spicy. It was savory and went well with the sweet cornbread added to it. I would 100% order again. The coffee is from a local SB roaster, so that is a must! Plus, do yourself a favor and order the table a plate of beignets! The service was very nice and accommodating! I would recommend this little gem of a breakfast place.Parking: Parking was really crowded and small, especially on Sunday mornings. I was able to find a spot after waiting a few minutes, but the rest of my party had to park elsewhere. There is free parking across the street, which I would recommend. The free parking lot of the establishment fools you into thinking that there is extra space, but there isn't AND it is hard to turn around and get out if you are stuck.”
“Large restaurant with many open tables. Good food with mostly American cuisine. The free garlic bread and butter is tasty and well seasoned.Had the Rib Eye Steak medium rare. They ran out of Prime Rib. Appetizers with fried pickles and brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts were good and my friends thought the fried pickles were good.Friends had the duck and filet mignon which was very good as well. The place was not too crowded on a Wed night for dinner. Low volume. Didn't need to speak loud to communicate.Had the atmosphere and decor of a log cabin. Wait staff was friendly and very attentive.Highly recommended. Nice place for a quiet dinner with a small or large group”
“A central coat institution, The Natural Cafe still delivers a tasty meal. I recently had my usual, an Old town salad with sauteed tofu and their signature tahini dressing. Really good. The prices are quite reasonable, and the quality and consistency are notable. Recommended.”
“This is an absolute gem. It absolutely exceeded my expectations in terms by a long shot. I’ve spent time in India and it is so rare that you find extremely authentic food in the US. Everything out of the tandoor is phenomenal - naan, chicken, etc. The South Indian and Sri Lankan specialties are fantastic. All the basics were really good as well like samosa and daal. Can’t recommend highly enough.”
“Excellent service and delicious food! Every staff member was welcoming and helpful. The food was so good that we went back a second time. Pasta Bolognese and fish entrees were superb!”
“Food is always great and some of the best fries I have ever tried! (Thin style). The Chicken Marsala is my favorite. Service is fantastic, they are so attentive and always eager to please and the decor on the walls is so much fun to look at, they have outdoor patio dining too where they are dog friendly and even have water bowls. Back to ambiance and or decor: we love it. My wife loves the salads and fish dinners. Good variety of menu items and full bar. Try it, we go often!”
“I love sushi! I love good sushi even more!Sushi Teri has great food. The menu is about 2/3 sushi with the remaining 1/3rd comprised of Asian fair hailing from different parts of the continent . Most of the food, however is a rendition of Japanese cuisine.I was impressed at how quickly our food arrived (party of 5 no less) without any sacrifice of quality.Another perk... it's affordable. Good sushi and cheap sushi are different things. While I wouldn't call this cheap, I will say that it's not prohibitively expensive for most folks. Maybe not every night but even as a penny pincher I definitely wouldn't panic at the thought of shelling out for the bill here on date night. My recommendation: The sashimi dinner is a great meal for those who want to go light on the carbs. My favorite, however is the sushi combo. It comes with 2/3rds the sashimi as the sashimi dinner but has an assortment of sushi instead. I like it because I get the best of both worlds for an almost identical pricetag. Each comes with soup, salad and rice.Drinking alcohol at restaurants can be pricey but if you want to loosen up while you sushi up they have you covered. 10 bucks gets you a massive 36 ounce mug of Sapporo beer. Even as a person who doesn't like the taste of alcohol I still enjoy a giant crispy Asian brew with my sushi. So there you have it. Worth a go if you are in the neighborhood. I try and eat there every time I'm in town. I used to eat at Somethings Fishy in downtown Santa Barbara but switched because I liked Teri better.I don't know if He is still there but the last few times I went there was this old guy working the sushi bar who knew EXACTLY what he was doing. I think he may have been the owner. Anyway I thought it was fun to watch him work his sushi making skills so if you go by yourself or with a date (it would make for some great first date conversation during an awkward silence) I recommend sitting at the bar.Parking: Strip style mall parkingKid-friendliness: Bench seats, small rollsWheelchair accessibility: Ground floor, plenty of room for a chair, ramp up the curb.”
“Have eaten there twice in the last week. Our servers great and excellent. The food was extremely good. The burger was medium rare both times, which is hard to find and the fries were crisp and flavorful.”
“Fast casual place withe one of the best clam chowder at an affordable price. Staff were quick and friendly. Food was great and hit the spot. Usually when you order soup to go the container wants to fall over in the car and I have to find the perfect way to wedge it to survive my drive. On the alley is genius. The put the soup cup in a clamshell container with extra crackers and utensils. The wide clamshell container prevents the soup cup from falling over during my drive. Genius. I'll stop by again the next time I'm in town.”
“Food and service have been great both times I've eaten here. I had the pad thai with soup and my husband had the yellow curry with salad. All were really tasty!”
“My son and I found this place on google and decided to go there. We were very pleased with the service -they were very friendly and heard my requests! We liked the food so much that we went back the next day!Dietary restrictions: I have to eat gluten free and I told the cashier and she said I could have the burger without the bread on lettuce. That didn’t seem appealing so I just got the bun and I was fine with itKid-friendliness: It’s very kid friendly. The booth that we were sitting in was surrounded by a chalkboard!”
“My go-to place when driving to/from Solvang and LA.To me, the tofu pad c ew is pretty much perfect. A generous portion with the right balance of fried egg, crunchy broccoli, tofu and noodles with a good bite and chew to them. Well-flavored, not too sweet, but even better when you add some Thai chilies in fish sauce. The mango sticky rice is pretty darned good too (yes, a complete carb overload for lunch but what the heck, it really hits the spot!)Vegetarian options: Tofu substitute available in most dishes”
“This place doesn't despondent food is taste great and salad bar is always full with all the diferrent toppings. The wait for our food was not that long eventhough it was lunch time. We had the lunch especial with includes a small individual pizza with two toppings a drink and a small salad. We also had Buffalo chicken Wings and an order of cheese bread.”
“Bowlero is more than just a bowling alley! This spot is perfect for a date night or family time! Our kids love the arcade! They've also got a sports bar, delicious food and a kids menu! We can't wait to go back again”
“This bar is truly a hidden gem in Santa Barbara/Goleta. Just by reading the other Yelp! reviews we stopped by . . . and it was even better than we could have imagined. On the menu, we had the Mazatlan Mule and the Cucumber Margarita. Our bartender, Scott, mixed some fantastic original concoctions including a Hot Tamale and his best attempt at a Mexican Candy Shot. The ambience is fantastic . . . Definitely a cool, speakeasy vibe . . . with and old school hi-fi system pouring out tunes and plenty of leather seating areas. Seriously, this is a perfect bar.”
