“I love fresh fish and since moving from Hawaii to here it's been impossible to find locally. Most of the places I've gone to have been middling at best, some I would just call serving bait. Nikka serves a tempura style fish that was cooked perfectly with a light batter coating The fish was fresh and firm as it should be. I heartily recommend Nikka and we'll be back soon for more.“
“This is some of the most generous poke I’ve had by far. The price is just like any other poke spot but more food. I Recommend getting literally anything. My family and I had different proteins and different sauces and asked for them to add all the toppings (which is included) and the three bowls tasted amazing.“
“Went for a club meeting on a beautiful sunny day. The outside patio is a comfortable place to watch golfers and enjoy the scenery. The food was well cooked including the vegetables that were not overdone, and the service was efficient and unobtrusive.“
“I've been there previously for take out when working in Goleta. This time we went to dine in. Small casual place. After we were seated I notice several diners were regular and knew the staff and each other. One can find "real" Chinese dishes , along with Americanized favorites. Not too hungry so we ordered the won ton soup and chicken chow fun to share Both were good and comforting. (Remembered to take photo after soup was gone and chow fun partially eaten). Staff was friendly and food came out fast. Only minus was the tea was not hot enough“
“Best poke in IV. I do have a bone to pick with the way Poke Theory is run. Dining here feels more like a stressful cafeteria... I wish it matched the chiller vibe of Isla Vista. When you walk in, you have to write your order on a tiny paper using a pencil that has a plastic spoon attached to it. I then sit down and notice that directions for EVERYTHING are printed laminated and taped on the wall (like "write order here with sanitized pencils", and "throw away trash here"). But in all fairness, I'm still rewarding four stars because, again, the poke itself is good. Just thought I could provide some constructive feedback to make it a more enjoyable dining experience for customers.“
“One of my favorite Spanish restaurants! Second visit, about 5 years apart. We sampled a wide range of items and nearly all were excellent. Tomato bread, patata bravas, grilled octopus, and so many other dishes were really outstanding. The one issue for me was mainly a personal preference. The Tortilla Espanol was made to order and a mini version that was served hot, with a bunch of stuff on top. It was too loose and wet for my taste. Service was great as were the drinks. Noise is a bit loud, but not unusually so. Parking is easiest if you use the Amtrak lot across the street. The small lot attached to the restaurant offers valet, but is very crampt and a little crazy on the weekends.“
“Dined there twice. Both times were excellent. The menu has a good variety of food choices and prices. The service is friendly and professional. The atmosphere is upscale and welcoming. Give yourself a treat for a special occasion or anytime dinner.“
“Amy & Mitchell... "Thank You"! I recently celebrated my birthday at Bouchon and I cannot remember a more fabulous experience ever. The moment we arrived the greeting was warm and friendly. Nicholas, our server, was attentive and had fantastic suggestions for pairings and dinner selections. The music... ok let's just say the mix of Motown and 70's R&B classics made the evening even more enjoyable. I apologize for my singing! Our champagne, Lauren - Perrier, was the perfect starter and paired well with the Salade Lyonnaise. Please do not sleep on the Warm Pecan & Goat Cheese Tart. "It will change your life" is what the ladies who sat next to us said. They were not incorrect. It was a "pearl clutching experience". The venison & the steak were so well prepared a knife was just a prop. The seasoning on both were excellent. They both are a "must have"! The wine we enjoyed with dinner was absolutely amazing. Adaptation paired well with everything we enjoyed on the menu. Nicholas' suggested as we both enjoy our cabs. The blackberry upside-down cake was a great finish to the meal (it too went well with the wine). From the greet to the music to the food... this is an experience one should have. I plan to have it happen more often.“
“The atmosphere is really what makes this place special. Overlooking the pier, this place offers bustling and convivial space either inside or outside. The food is excellent, though not refined. It's busy, vibrant but not crowded, at all times of the day.“
“The boathouse is a place I come a few times a year and it's always delicious. My favorite is the eggs benedict and also I like their blood orange margarita.Dog gone and I can't find the photo of our eggs benedict but it had salmon on top that they cure in house and is mind-blowing“
“Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options. Don't get anything from the fryer though. The fish I had was locally sourced & delicious! The potato parmesion pancake thing was really tasty! The California cocktail was one of the tastiest drinks I've ever had.“
“The views from this restaurant are great. The place could use a few more staff, but the few that were there did a great job. The food was alright. I got shrimp tacos, and they weren't particularly inspiring, but they were alright. Others in my group thoroughly enjoyed their meals however. All in all a nice place to eat lunch.“
“I loved it here!. The food and the service!. Our server was the sweetest, I wish I remembered her name. She made our whole experience the best! We sat in the left corner right by the jukebox and it was a vibe. Loved all the memorabilia on the walls too, makes it a fun lil place to come and eat.Parking: Right around back there's a lot for only $3 for city parking“
“This was an unexpected place we stumbled upon. It is a New Orleans themed restaurant with lots of flavorful dishes and a friendly staff. They do a cool sing a long with all the patrons and the staff comes around to all the tables to share a toast with you.“
“Stopped in before 9am to try their small burrito special. From 6:30-9 there are an array of breakfast burritos for $5.95 plus tax. This is the perfect size burrito in my opinion. Opted for the egg, bacon and cheese version with hot salsa on the side. Delicious. Would come back to try the chorizo, egg and potato. The service was great, staff super friendly, clean, and cutely decorated. Also it smelled really good walking in. Enjoy!“
“Food was excellent and service too! Only one complaint sign states no pets allowed yet a customer sitting next to us with a dog on his dog bed and she fed him from a plate from the restaurant. I probably will not be back. I won't know if I'm eating off a plate a dog ate off. Health department wouldn't be happy about this I'm sure.“
“One of my favorite places to eat in Santa Barbara. The food is always good. I have had salads, appetizers, and sandwiches and each have been wonderful. This time I had the blackened salmon sandwich with a side salad instead of fries. There was a nice, large, well seasoned piece of salmon in the sandwich. The sauce on the salmon was perfect, not overpowering. Delicious! We went on St. Patrick's Day weekend and were treated to an Irish dance group performance. Very fun!Kid-friendliness: They have a small kids' menu of penne and Parmesan, a burger, or a hot dog.“
“What a great find during our recent trip to SB! This place is just of the beaten path of Lower State Street, but ABSOLUTELY worth the slight detour. The food is FRESH - probably the best Poke Bowl I've ever had, and their Fish Tacos live up to the hype and awards!Parking: Just like all of Lower State Street, parking isn't easy - but it's not super difficult either if you use a nearby city lot. Most are free for the first 75 minutes and just minutes away.“
“This is my favorite bar in Santa Barbara and I doubt that will ever change. Miss the chongo shot but the espresso shot and a Bay of Santiago will always and forever hit the spot. Every. Single. Time.Everyone who works here are professionals and friendly. Never ever had less then a stellar time.“
“Loved the uni shooter and the clam chowder. Would recommend these! Lobster bisque was great too. The pastas were good and the seafood was definitely fresh! The toast that it comes with was divine. The sauce was a little off. Casual spot with amazing waterfront to eat alongside!“
“Got seated outside during busy time. No music played outside and only one lamp for 4 parallel tables, so cold. They seemed busy and stressed when I arrived. Excellent food. Server was friendly but did not understand my questions when I asked about wine list, wine that did come out took quite some time and was wrong.I walked or else I probably would've gone to another less busy spot. Would be great experience during off peak hours and indoors.“
“Came here the other day. It was clean and well maintained. My burger was delicious but I asked for no tomato in mine and my niece wanted pickles in hers- not sure if it was charged. When the food arrived none of our request were even fulfilled. I pulled the tomato out and gave my niece some of my pickles. I don't get why we have to tip prior to getting our food when errors with your staff caused this. I saw on the register that our information was inputted but ignored in the kitchen? I even tipped when I ordered a beer. Should I have? This wasn't a huge deal. Just annoying. Please keep this in mind going forward. Thanks!“
“Lovely pet friendly restaurant! Lovely patio next to yachts. Great staff and very good food. I will be back. Oh...and easy parking!Parking: Hourly pay parking right at the back of the restaurant. Expensive but you are right at the harbor and restaurant. Hadicapp is there too.“
“This is our "go-to" for lobster rolls. The best in LA, Malibu and Santa Barbara! 4 stars overall coupled with 5 stars for the food because they've gone too high with the prices! We're looking at almost $50 per person for a lobster roll, fries and 1 drink. We may start looking for a new fave.“
“Found this place after riding bikes down on the water. Service was excellent. Food obviously freshly made. Egg rolls were fairly plain. Small and bland in taste My wife had the kung pao chicken which was tasty albeit a little overdone. I had the crispy mandarin chicken which was excellent. The portions on the entrees were good sized. Solid location overall and always nice to support local restaurants.“
“The food and service was OK nothing to be wow about but it is a nice view if you get the seats next to the window. The lobster roll was a joke. Don't get that lobster roll. I wouldn't mind visiting the restaurant again if I'm around just to have some cocktails and appetizer.“
“Phenomenal. I went with a friend and we had the lamb shank and the rib-eye, which were amazing. The house steak sauce and the bernaise sauce went so well with the rib-eye. We also had the octopus appetizer and it was beyond delicious. Loved this place. Will definitely be back. Incredible views of the pacific ocean as well from the patio.“
“How cool was that? We haven't eaten so well in a long time. My wife had mussels and I ate seabass. Everything was super delicious. Dessert was crème bruille, which was also perfect. The prices were also acceptable and the service, as in almost all American restaurants, was very friendly and helpful. Oh yeah, I drank a Firestone Walker 805 and my wife drank a local white wine.“
“We've been here a few times but their food has gotten worse. The mussels are tiny and when you order seafood by the pound, you barely get anything since most of it is shell. They changed their fries too. It used to be a crispy shoestring fries and now they are thicker, softer, and worst. The service is okay for State, just the bare minimum for a sit down restaurant.“
“Arriving at 6:45 p.m. for dinner while enjoying the sunset, we were placed directly upstairs, on the terrace, with a view of the pier and all its boats. My friend and I had the ahi, delicious and perfectly prepared, although the side dish was a little cold. The atmosphere is calm and warm and the staff very attentive.“
“Chuck's is one of my favorite places in all of Santa Barbara. A locals place that's been there for forever. Great steaks, always love the New York Strip and always is cooked perfectly to my temp. Place does get busy. But the service is phenomenal! Great, great service by a pretty, tall blonde young lady.... Kayla? She seems to handle the busy restaurant with ease, attentive and just a friendly personality. We'll be back!“
“Ambiance and service is good. Loved the shrimp soup they served us. Shrimp diablas was spicy but good. Great and refreshing aguas frescas, they have a good portion too. Only critique I have is on the ceviche mixto. The flavor was just not there - maybe just a bad day. Overall good dining experience! I will be coming back on for their taco deals.“
