Do yourself a favor and take a cooking class ASAP with Heat Culinary! I have taken 2 now, Chinese food and Oaxacan, and they have been so informative, helpful, and, best of all, so much fun!! The cost for the classes is an absolute steal, considering you eat an amazing meal and take home tons of leftovers. It’s really a bonding experience to cook with people and enjoy it together at the end, strangers feel like friends quickly. The class offerings are diverse and unique, with lots of ethnic food options. Customer service is also amazing— I forgot the recipe print out and emailed them afterwards, around 10 p.m., and the owner, Chef Nikki, emailed me back almost immediately and not only sent me the recipe, but asked for input on upcoming classes. I’m grateful for Heat and plan on taking as many classes as I can.

My partner and I just took a class at the Santa Barbara branch (vegetarian French cuisine) with Chef Fabio Flagiello and had an amazing time. He was extremely helpful and made what looked like an intimidating set of recipes fun to make. He took the time to give us personalized techniques, and share bits of wisdom on various cooking techniques. But most importantly, he was kind, patient, and welcoming.

I have had the pleasure of taking three classes- one-pot meals, chocolate, and pies and tarts- and each class has exceeded my expectations. The instructors are knowledgeable and enthusiastic and the assistants are kind and helpful. The three hour class periods allow for in-depth learning opportunities and the ability to ask questions and better understand the techniques being taught. It is so nice to have all of the ingredients prepped and tools provided! Not to mention, the kitchen and dining area are well appointed and the space is open, bright, and welcoming. Come hungry and eager to learn. You will leave with leftovers, tips and recipes, newfound confidence in your cooking abilities, and a desire to return ASAP! Bonus: you don’t have to do all the dishes! Thank you Chef Nikki and team for this wonderful experience in Carpinteria. I’m looking forward to my next class!

I cannot say enough about my experience with Heat Culinary. We did a cooking class for our staff party and loved every moment. Chef Becky was a riot and absolute delight. She kept us laughing the entire time, while teaching us a ton of techniques. 10/10 would recommend taking a class to anyone and everyone. Already looking for the next one to take.

I booked a private cooking class for my company’s holiday party and this class was a huge hit for my team! We had a fabulous time together, our chef Becky was incredible (and funny!), and the food was divine. Our chef led us through several Spanish recipes of paella, green bean dish, and cheesecake. Phenomenal! I can’t recommend this crew enough. We all said after our time there that we will definitely be returning for the public classes. If you’re looking for a fun team building activity or simply want to have some fun the kitchen, this is the thing to do!

We hired them to cater our wedding. They worked with us through this whole insane year. Our food was delicious and made with quality ingredients. They went above and beyond, and were cheerful and friendly. I think we had as many compliments on the quality and flavor of our food as we did on the friendly staff! Please consider them for your next event you won't be disappointed.

hands down my favorite restaurant in the city! I gotta get a boot every time I'm here. I have never had a bad meal, and never had any dish that wasn't as delicious as the next. Have pretty much tried everything on the menu, and I'd have to say the venison is my favorite. its always cooked perfectly and just tastes delicious! Hmmm.. I think I'll go talk to my wife and see about going again soon!
