Just for the restaurants info, the fresh spring roll has lettuce wrapped with rice paper for $12. It's kind of a rip-off. Please mix in chicken and shrimp.

Now this is a gem! Small family run Thai restaurant in Carpinteria. We came in for dinner with voracious appetites after an evening at the beach. Everything was cooked with care to perfection. We had the Tom Kha soup and the Laarb followed my Pad See eew and Drunken Noodles. The flavors and spice were perfectly balanced. Would definitely Do Over !!!

I ordered the Pad Thai lunch special. The service was great, the atmosphere was cozy.
The Pad Thai was on the sweeter side which was entirely different than what I’m used to, the portion of chicken was lackluster. With all the great reviews it was probably a fluke. I’ll be back to try the food again

A bit pricey at $20 for a basic plate.
But my girlfriend is vegan and loves this place. The locals seem to love it too although any Asian profiles aren't my jam.
5/5. They deserve it.

When this place opened, I gave them 5 stars. Last few times, they have gone downhill. Tofu is inexpensive, yet a $17 meal like Pa-Ram or Pad See Eiw will have just a few pieces. I just picked up a small Tom Kha Soup with tofu--6 small pieces. They made me pay extra to have vegetables in it--LITERALLY one piece of broccoli, one piece of zucchini, a few slices of carrots. Almost $15 for coconut broth. Might be my last time there. This local will go back to Siam Elephant.
Here's a photo...pathetic.

The food here is fresh and not heavy. The portions are decent and filling. They close early so we took out. There are many vegetarian options. You can also ask for a level of spice. The dumplings are good too. There is parking and if you get there early you can eat in - they have a few tables.

LAOTHAI in Carpinteria, California, is a must-visit for authentic Thai cuisine. The yellow curry is a standout, rich and creamy with perfectly balanced spices that offer warmth without overpowering. Each bite of tender chicken in the delightful sauce is comforting.
Equally impressive is the pineapple fried rice, a colorful dish featuring sweet pineapple, crispy vegetables, and fluffy rice, served in a hollowed-out pineapple for an eye-catching presentation.
The service is attentive and friendly, making for a pleasant dining experience. If you’re in Carpinteria, don’t miss LaoThai for some of the best yellow curry and pineapple fried rice around!
Kid-friendliness: My kids love eating here!

Recommended dishes: Pad Sew Iew with Tofu, Pineapple Fried Rice
Vegetarian options: The vegan Tom kha soup has fish sauce in it and they say that there’s no way that they can take it out so they’re vegan. Tom Kha soup is not vegan as they state on the menu :(

Our food was all sauce, no real content. Disappointed. They also did not have all of our order (take out), necessitating a second trip after we got home. Check your orders....won't go back
